Paul Reinhardt
Straight-Up Control
TBS Comics, Pensacola, FL
12/17/05

Alright 26 people showed up total, meaning 5 rounds of swiss with top 8. As usual a pack per person is given to the two winners, which recently hasn't been me and my brother every time so they haven't been split, just the usual 60/40 split. Got their early and did some selling/trading, though I only made about $10 cash today and I usually make at least 20, if not 50. Anyway, decklit time:

Monsters (18):
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
2 Cyber Dragon
3 D. D. Assailant
1 D. D. Warrior Lady
1 Don Zaloog
1 Drillroid
1 Exiled Force
1 Magician of Faith
1 Mobius the Frost Monarch
1 Sangan
3 Spirit Reaper
1 Tsukuyomi
1 Twin-Headed Behemoth

Traps (10):
1 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call of the Haunted
2 Dust Tornado
3 Sakuretsu Armor
1 Torrential Tribute
2 Widespread Ruin

Spells (12):
1 Book of Moon
1 Dark Hole
1 Enemy Controller
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Premature Burial
1 Reinforcement of the Army
1 Scapegoat
2 Smashing Ground
1 Snatch Steal

Cheesy I know, but I definately decided to change it completely for next week if I play, but more on that later. ITs just not fun to run cc even when no on else is running it.

Round 1 vs. Cody (brother) w/ Soul Control
He was about to use the broken Pot of Avarice bs deck that doesn't run Call or Premature because it doesn't need to, but I suggested not doing so to keep all the kids from valuing Pot of Avarice at like 20 and to not scare them off (cuz you literally can't beat it from what I've seen). Anyway I believe it went 2-1 here with him winning in any case. He gets Dekoichi like a champ, I'll just say that.

Round 2 vs. Tyler w/ janky defense I guess?
*The* most annoying kid I've come across. Anyway beat him 2-0, he had some 2000 and 2100 defense guys but they just kinda died when Mobius hit the field since he didnt run any good S/T's.

Round 3 vs. Steve "Pedro" w/ janky burn
2-0ed here, he got all mad cuz I kept topdecking like a champ. Won second game with a Reaper constantly hitting him cuz I kept dealing with what he played even if he was topdecking and it was horrible.

Round 4 vs. Jeff w/ janky beats
Got awesome hands and I believe I 2-0ed here. He's played longer than me but still plays kinda janky stuff, but he is a good player nonetheless.

Round 5 vs. Michael Huang w/ Soul/Field Control
Threw out the lat name cuz I randomly remembered it. As usual they were good matches, but I 2-1ed, ending swiss with a 4-1 record.

Top 8 - Yes, me and Cody are on opposite sides of the pairings for once!

Quarterfinals vs. Travis w/ Warrior toolbox wannabe
Beat me one game when I drew 1 monster and Reinforced another the entire game, otherwise I was fine. Didn't get to use the Kinetic Soldier I sided in against his many warriors but w/e.

Semis vs. Ian w/ janky Soul Control
He was playing just a tribute deck basically, just soul control with stuff like Jinzo thrown in. We went 2-1 because second game I played a Heavy storm when I had a mobius in hand and a monster to tribute >.< but still, won it.

Finals vs. Cody
Won 2-1 here, he didn't get his usual draws and the last game I Noblemaned his Dekoichis which was fun. Lost the second time to GK Spys basically cuz they messed up the field advantage.

So we split everything, got stamps for the $10 card thing and got 13 packs in credit, which we just have to wait to turn into real credit whenever the manager gets back.

Props:
-We got the Devin kid that stole my deck a while ago kicked out for goin through Jeffs stuff, obviously looking to joink some of it. His mom got all mad too, it was great =D
-$52 in credit in a comic/gaming store that also has dvds, sounds awesome to me
-Got another stamp card full so thats another $10 credit
-Got an ultimate E-hero fusion and some Kycoos for $15, which is basically $4 for the Kycoos and the fusion should sell for $30+ cuz its ultimate 1/e

Slops:
-Down to $45-ish for Christmas gifts instead of the $65 I had cuz this kid I owed money to showed up
-Getting bored with my deck, cuz really a cc deck has no reason to be played. I could just get a job if I wanted to sacrifice fun for winning stuff, and its alot more consistant in paying me.
-Missing Adult Swim yet again cuz mom hogs our only tv like a champ...

Paul Reinhardt, email me if you're near Pensacola and want to come to the TBS Comics tourney someday.
