 Yugioh Tournament Reports

Kevin_'D's_Tourney_Report_From_Union

Attendees: 10 at first count

Date: 11/18/05

Welcome to another tournament report my loyal readers. This week I’ve been so sick that it’s ridiculous. I’ve had a sinus infection that’s kept me out of class for the past week. Well, I decided that no matter how sick I am I couldn’t pass up a good tournament. Also, while sick this week I went through old cards, new cards, and spare Ultra rare cards and while I still can’t find a replacement for my waterlogged Exiled Force, I did find two Strike Ninja’s and a three D. D. Scout Planes. So I built this and play tested all week and decided to take it to the next tournament. So here’s my Strike Ninja deck.

Tribs:

Ancient Gear Golem

Mobius the Frost Monarch

Cyber Dragon (x2)

Non-Tribs:

Strike Ninja (x3)

Mystic Tomato (x2)

D. D. Scout Place (x3) (Scout Plane)

D. D. Assailant (x2) (DDA)

Breaker the Magical Warrior (Breaker)

D. D. Warrior Lady (My Lady)

Exiled Force (Exiled)

Sangan

Mystic Swordsman LV 2

Spirit Reaper

Spells:

Smashing Ground (x2) (Smashing)

Reinforcement of the Army (x2)

Creature Swap (Swap)

Different Dimension Capsule

Heavy Storm

Snatch Steal (Snatch)

Swords of Revealing Light (SORL)

Nobleman of Crossout (NoC)

Premature Burial (Premy)

Messenger of Peace (Messenger)

Confiscation (Confi)

Dark Hole

Mystical Space Typhoon (Mst)

Book of Moon (BoM)

Traps:

Dust Tornado (x2)

Sakuretsu Armor (x2) (Saku)

Call of the Haunted (CoH)

Torrential Tribute (Torrential)

Side Deck:

Spell Canceller

Silva, The Warlord of Dark World

The End of Anubis

Drillroid

Legendary Jujitsu Master

Kinetic Soldier

Nobleman of Extermination

Wave-Motion Cannon (x2) (WMC)

Cursed Seal of the Forbbiden Spell (Cursed Seal)

Bottomless Trap Hole (x2)

Trap Hole

Royal Decree

Ceasefire

Before the tournament Lyle and I caught up on stuff. I found out a few days ago that Richard and Jack weren’t going to be here. So I figured easy points for my state rankings. There shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for this week. I know I’m being cocky, and I don’t care. I’m sick so I feel like being cocky. It hurt to talk so I’m going to have to be careful. At this moment the only real competition I feel is Jamie and maybe Lyle, but I’m probably going to eat those words. Oh well I just need to have fun.

Round1:

Jamie vs. Kevin D. (Me)

Jamie is one of the few people I’m worried about tonight. I heard about him running a Triple Decree trap engine. I was glad I had put Extermination in my side deck, but the need didn’t come up.

Game 1:

He set a face down in each zone. I summoned LV 2 and killed his face down. He summoned Goblin Attack Force and smacked me good. I summoned Breaker and broke his face down CoH. Then I killed his Goblin. He premyed into Mystic Swordsman LV, slapped a United We Stand on it smacked Breaker, then played SORL. I drew, played Heavy Storm, Summoned DDA, and attacked. He summoned Cyber Dragon, and smacked my DDA, and I removed. I summoned Mystic Tomato and attacked. Next turn he got nothing, so I swung with Tomato again. He summoned DDA and attacked my Tomato, and I fetched D. D. Scout Plane. Next turn I used RoA to get DDA, snatched his DDA, and Summoned mine for game.

Game 2:

I should’ve side decked but decided not to. He started off with a face down monster. I used DDC and placed my Ancient Gear Golem in it. Then I set a face down. He played Mst on my DDC and lost my Golem. Then he flipped Cyber Jar, I got two smashing grounds, Strike ninja, Dust Tornado, BoM. He got NoC, two decrees, Brain Control, Something else. He played Brain Control on my Strike Ninja, and summoned DD Warrior Lady. He smacked me for 3200. He then played Swords and set a face down. Next turn I summoned Breaker, and broke his Swords, and attacked Directly. He played Dark Hole, and Premyed back DD Warrior Lady and summoned Command Knight. I BoMed his Command Knight in the battle phase. Then I smashing grounded his Warrior Lady. I RoAed into LV 2, Summoned Cyber Dragon and him, killed his face down with LV2 and attacked directly with Cyber Dragon for game.

After the round Richard and Jack showed up but only Jack entered.

Round 2:

I always end up playing Lyle when we’re at the same tournament. This was no exception. Lyle’s probably one of the most dangerous players I play against.

Game 1:

He opened with a NoC on my Scout Plane. I was happy because that was a +1 me. Then he smacked me with Bazoo. End of the turn Scout Plane came back, I summoned Sangan and Creature Swapped. I went to attack my Sangan with Bazoo, but he used Compulsory Evacuation Device. I turned my Scout Plane to defense and ended. Next turn he He sacked my Sangan for Airknight and trampled my Scout Plane. Next turn I was forced to run my Lady into Airknight. The he hit me with Bazoo next turn. After that he used return from different dimension with an extra bazoo for game.

Game 2:

Hard match, notes illegible. I remember he topdecked a Bazoo when I had Mobius on the field, he used it and Nimble to kill me.

Round 3:

Wait this isn’t first round of finals. I shouldn’t be playing Jack. This must be a horrible mistake. Oh well.

Kevin D. vs Jack

Again Jack and mines play is so fast I can’t read my notes. I know Strike Ninja came out, but I still haven’t summoned the Gear Golem. Jack looked at it and gave me some ideas for speed.

Round 4:

I must win this match to get into the finals. I’m a little nervous that my being cocky early in the report may come back to bite me. Oh well its as should be expected. I ended up playing Jeremy Micheal Farr. Traditional for the 4th round according to him, but doesn’t seem like that too me.

Game 1:

He was running a beatdown. Early on he got out Blade Knight and Spear Dragon on me. Then he set all his cards but one of the backfield. I top decked Heavy Storm, and attacked Spear dragon with Sangan. He tributed Blade Knight for Zaborg and killed my Sangan, which I fetched a Scout Plane. The smack from Zaborg hurt. I used Snatch Steal to take Zaborg and attacked. He played Wave-Motion Cannon. Being only at 1700 I couldn’t leave it there so I sacked Zaborg for Mobius and killed the cannon. It was game from there.

Game 2:

No side decking although I thought really hard about it. He summoned a big creature, which I smashed with smashing. The I smacked him direct with DDA. He then Vortexed. I then proceeded to work him down with Strike Ninja until he was at 700. He Dark holed, but couldn’t capitalize. I killed him with a D. D. Scout Plane.

Finals:

Not Lyle again. His freakin Dimension fusion. Oh well. It was a quick match, I got owned. Not much else to say about it.

Finals:

Lyle vs Tracy

Somehow I called this one. Earlier today I called this one.

Game 1:

Both players seemed relaxed which was surprising seeing as this was Lyle’s first time in the finals. Lyle won the die roll and opted to go first. Lyle opened with the standard one and one. Tracy played Confi and dropped a Nimble from Lyle’s hand. Tracy summoned Enraged and smacked another Nimble. Lyle called his last Nimble to the field. Tracy scolded his children for being too loud while Lyle looked. Lyle Summoned Breaker and attacked Enraged. Then broke Dust which was chained to destroy Lyle’s face down Dimension Fusion. Tracy followed up with Smashing ground, summoned Spirit Reaper and attacked the face down Nimble. Lyle seemed really displeased with his hand. Lyle used Exiled on Reaper. Tracy RoAed into Don Zaloog. He summoned Don which Lyle Torrentialed. Lyle Summoned LV 2 and attacked to get Sakued, and Tracy Capiltalized with DDA. Lyle set one in each zone. Tracy top decked RoA into exiled. He exiled Lyle’s Magician of Faith. Lyle Summoned and Sucied his enraged into Tracy and then set one. Tracy set a face down, and ended. Lyle RFGed Exiled for Gigantis which Sakued, which Lyle chained my body as a shield. Gigantis connected. Tracy drew and set on the back field. Lyle swung again, but was met with Widespread ruin. Lyle set one, as did Tracy, and Tracy used CoH for Entaged, but Lyle used Compulsory in the battle phase. Lyle comtmplated his move, and Tracy summoned Enraged and removed Exiled for Gigantis.

Tracy gets Game 1. Niether player side decked.

Lyle opened with one face down monster. Tracy RoAed into LV 2. LV 2 attacked Nimble and set a face down. Lyle topdecked Cyber dragon , summoned it and attacked only to get Sakued. Lyle played Enraged and Swords. Tracy the sacked for Mobus and cleared some damage. Lyle played premy, but Dust was chanied. Lyle set one and ended. Tracy Premyed, out a LV 2, summond Don, and forced Lyle into Top deck. Lyle set a face down and ended. Don took two off the two of the deck. Don Ripped Confi out of Lyle’s hand and then he hit him with LV 2. Lyle entered his scoop phase.

Props:

Good Tournament.

The Burgess for always hosting a good tournament.

Slops:
Two weeks and nothing out of my packs.
