Tournament Report for August 6th, 2005



Hi all,



Welcome to this week's edition of the tournament report! I hope this writing finds you well and winning!



I've been out of touch the past couple of weekends because that pesky little thing called work got in the way....but now, I have returned from the real world and dove back into this zany card came.



I've decided that until the next ban list comes out, this game is pretty much going to stay the same. Chaos decks will own and the Tsuyk/MoF/Ter/BoM brokeness will continue and, unless you play with the cookie cutter deck, you will more than likely, lose. Cybernetic Revolution will not change the game with any major impact so, it's going to be up to KONAMI's next ban list to pull this game out of the stale quaqmire they've so ignorantly stuck it in....More about that at a later date...



The fun factor has nearly been eliminated and I, for one, have decided to try to inject a little more happiness into this weekend' s tournaments by not even trying to win. I built this deck purely for fun and if I win, it's just icing on the cake.

SIDE DECK:



Doesn't really matter. A couple of Chain Destruction and some additional zombie support but, it was for fun anyway.



As you can see the deck is PURELY for FUN so, PLEASE do not email me about how much the deck sucks and all that stuff.



On to the tournament!

Maybe about 20 people today. Small crowd.



We got there a little late because my wife was out running an errand. I needed to stay home taking care of three little boys who recently came into our care, until their parents picked them up for a visit. Starbucks was also on my wife's morning agenda, and a venti caramel machiato was on it's way to me. Oh yeah!



ROUND 1



SKULL SERVANTS VS CCCHAOS same ol' stuff. Insert any top 8 deck here.



Blah, blah. I knew I was going to lose this match but, I made it interesting!



GAME 1



He goes first and sets one face down monster and one S/T.



I activate Swords on his MoF. Yawn....I set Scapegoat and end my turn because I don't have a monster strong enough to take out his monster.. MoF's defense is higher than Skull Servant's attack. LoL. Oh, yeah.....ahhhh that's funny....



He sets another S/T and ends his turn.



I set draw a Spirit Reaper and set it.



He summons a Blade Knight (yawn) and NoC's my Reaper. Oh no! I activate Scapegoat in his end phase.



I Morph a token and take his Blade Knight.



He MST's my Swords (it was on it's last turn so, I wondered why he felt he needed to MST it). He Snatch's my TER, Books it and attacks a token with his Magician of Faith. Whatever.



I Morph another token and take my set TER. I Delinquent his hand and get him top decking.



He keeps setting monsters and I just stall. Suddenly he does the Graceful, Pot move and tributes his Sangan for Jinzo. He got his Tsukuyomi with Sangan's effect and the hits me with the uber broken flip MoF/Tsuk/Graceful fill your hand with a million cards and kill you.



I never could get enough Skull Servants in the graveyard.



GAME 2



OUCH. Worse than game 1. I get killed really quickly by the standard brokeness of everything broken.



ROUND 2



SKULL SERVANTS VS SPELLCASTER DECK



Cool. I thought I'd be out in the second round but, I get to duel again. This time, I get paired up with someone I have never dueled against and I hope I never duel again.



GAMES 1 and 2



This guy argues with me about everything. He tries to do Peten's effect when he can't, debates about Thousand Eyes Restrict only being able to take face up monsters (what the?!) and a whole slew of other stupid things. Everytime I try to explain a ruling to him, he rolls his eyes and looks at me like I am a moron. He argues with me about Tsukuyomi's effect with TER. Grrr. I hate people that think they know how to play but do not.



The first game he KNOWS I have Tsyukuyomi in my hand because I've been playing it. I have Jinzo on the field and he summons a monster and sticks Mage Power on it, getting it up to 3100attack. I ask him if he's going to attack and he looks at me all sideways and smirks, "I'm not a fool." I'm like, "OK, dude" and promptly flip it face down with Tsuku next turn and kill him. Ahh, it's nice to shut up dorks.



The second game he dumps his hand by setting three S/T cards at once and I just hit him with Pyramid Turtles and Sangans for damage. He stalls with a Negate Attack and Enchanted Javelin (?). He gets all cocky when he special summons a Chaos Sorceror but I Bottomless it! LoL. When he brings out Chaos Command Magician I Snatch Steal it and kill him with his own monster. Priceless....



Well, I get dropped next round but, I don't care. I had things to do today and couldn't spend all day dueling. I have just gotten a new PC and have been spending the past few days setting up a wireless network in my house to connect my new PC, my old PC and my wife's new laptop. It finally got straight. Why are thing that are suppose to be simple, turn out to be wildly complicated? Little things my ISP didn't tell me really screwed me up, but it's all good now.



That's it for today. I have a tournament tomorrow but don't think I will use this deck. Maybe I'll go the CCC route.....NAH!!!!!!!
