Before the tournament:

We got there and got signed up, I already pre-registered, so I just picked up my card and got a ticket for a drawing. Then I started trading, but after a bit of misunderstanding on the ban/restriction list, I was set. I failed on some trades before the first round, they were calling the names for the 12 and under tournament, when I realized I had to take out my total defense shogun and replace it with the thunder monarch from my side deck. Then the first round begun.

Round 1: Me vs. Dan ( warriors)

I thought this guy looked familiar, turns out after the duel I found I traded with him a while back at a mall, and just forgot him. Well he won the dice roll, and let me go first. I could tell away after his marauding captain he had a warrior deck. He had some good support. He took a quick lead with his sasuaki samurai took out my defense monsters and flip effects. After I took it out, it was all down hill for him. He used all his trap cards to protect his samurai. I used my dd warrior lady and blade knight took out his monsters. Then he caught me off guard with one the sword master level cards. After I beat that and attacked him directly, I won.

The second duel was a lot better. He tried the same thing. He made the same mistakes, he used all his trap cards to protect his warriors, once I got through that, barely, he was defenseless. I used black luster soldier to get him in a lock, he kept playing defense monsters and I kept removing them then attacking with my other monsters.

Round 2: I got a by.

Since I got a by, I watched my friend duel, beat down this guy with a burner deck, kind of sad really, he was beat by the deck that I know the weakness to, I also knew the weakness to the guy with the burner deck, I’ve dueled him enough. But I watched and I knew almost every move they both would make. Anyway after I got a trade in the round was over and my next official match was on.

Round 3: me vs. guy with attempted chaos

This guy made 2 mistakes before the duel even started, I told him I got a pass on the last round, and he told me that 1, he hadn’t dueled in about 3 months, and he also didn’t use mystical space typhoon. I turned to my side deck and put in some trap cards. It started out pretty good. He used raigeki to destroy my monsters and take a quick lead. But since I knew he didn’t play mystic space typhoon, I put down all my magic and traps and set morphing jar, when he attack I played mirror force. On my turn I flipped it, gained a new hand, plus all my face down cards. I played premature burial, on jinzo, and played feather duster, change of heart and monster reborn and that depleted his life points.

The second duel, It was over in about 3 turns. He went first, and played some monster. Then I put down my cyber jar, and ended my turn. He took it with change of heart and flipped it, he only drew 2 monsters, a goblin attack force, which I killed with ring of destruction, and a fiber jar, which would have helped him, since I drew 3 monsters. On my turn he played his face down card, ceasefire, which did hurt since I lost 2500lp. But it didn’t matter, I used change of heart on his witch, brought out my zaborg the thunder monarch, destroyed the fiber jar with his special ability and attacked directly for 7800, added to the ring of destruction from goblin attack force was more then enough to end of the match.

We did it, me and my 2 best friends had made it to the top 4, but the bad thing was, the other to guys I went to the tournament with had to duel each other. It was a very long and hard fought match.

Round 3: me vs. steven (chaos)

This guy kept saying he had a bad hand, which must have been true, the first duel he didn’t play a single magic/trap. He had some good monsters. But after a couple turns I got out bls-eotb and attacked him and won, ironically enough he had the soldier in his hand but no light monsters.

The second duel, he said the same thing, that he had a bad hand, but I thought he was bluffing. I was cautious. I put down my cyber jar to get some monsters, he attacked it, and it got me just what I wanted. I drew some dark and light monsters. On my turn I played dark hole, summoned chaos emperor dragon and set witch of the black forest. Got out my yata. He drew I said, “you better not draw a magic card”, he drew and put his hand down, I asked if he was putting it down and he said no, he showed me the cards, it was mage power, he gave me the win, rather then waiting it out.

Now after this I still had a long time to wait to see which of my friends won, now to my surprise who I thought would lose came out on top. So it was now best friends forced to do battle. When they called us over to duel, we said we were getting a soda, they started the clock, we didn’t care we knew they’d give us extra time, we are pretty cool with the owners. So we got a drink, and started. We had a whole crowd of people around, the owner, and all the people who I beat in the tournament.

Round 4: me vs. matt( both use chaos, damn near mirror decks)

We know each others decks very well, we duel so much. I knew what he was planning, he would try to use the chaos monsters to take the duel as fast as he could. I knew I had to do the same to take on his chaos monsters. It went back and forth. We kept taking monsters out of play, but when I forgot to remove one of his monsters he summoned black luster soldier. Luckily I had dark hole and then I brought out my jinzo and attacked. I thought he would do more, but left the field next, and after my morphing jar failed, I backed it up with cyber jar, the monsters I gained helped me win, with a direct attack.

Second duel:

On my second turn I was able to bring out zaborg the monarch to attack him directly. He killed it on his turn and played monster reborn. He looked at my hand with forceful sentry, and sent back jingo, to my surprise he left in my hand ced, he knew I didn’t have the dark monsters in the graveyard to summon it. He attacked with the monarch, I played hallowed life barrier, which he blocked with trap jammer. I took 2400 damage, but that wasn’t my plan, I used the cost to put a dark monster in my graveyard. I summoned chaos emperor dragon and used the effect. The next couple turns was us playing sinster serpent until we drew some good cards. I finally drew tribe infecting virus. And monster reborn to steal his jinzo, he was open now to an attack. Then I drew yata, I had him in a nice yata lock, jinzo, and tribe infecting virus. He had no cards in his hand and 3 cards face down, but with jinzo, what could he do. But his face down card was premature burial, he summoned tribe infecting virus. But he has no cards, he then attempted to bring back sinster serpent from the graveyard, I told him that was an illegal move, he was shocked, I knew he was mad at himself, but it was like joey vs. yugi, I had to deal the final blow with jinzo, but I won, the whole tournament, and got my sod box. I went and bragged, no one thought I could do it, but I beat down everyone. This was a huge tournament and im glad I took the title.

Props: I traded a lot, 1/e enemy controller, blade knight, ultimate rare null and void, ultimate rare , united we stand, dark magician of chaos, command knight, hallowed life barrier (sorry shadow), but I can maybe trade you the super rare one I got out my box this Saturday.

Me and my friend got to the top 4, and I took out matt in the finals, it was priceless.

I pulled some good holos in my box.

I won an upper deck hat, which I exchanged for an upper deck water bottle.

Slops. None, after winning I felt like nothing could go wrong, I wanted to get another dark magician, but meh, cant win them all.
