Notes: Now I know what everyone reading this is thinking, “You have way too many monsters in your deck witch is too big.”  Well the number works for me, and I hate being caught without a monster.  Besides I can usually place in the top 10 in most every tournament I am in.  Usually there are between 20 and 30 participants at a tournament at Intergalactic.

Even though their was only 8 players their, there was still a good mix of talent.  My friend James was their with his little brother Jonathan.  James switches between his dragon deck and water deck, neither is ever going to win a tournament, and his brother gave up YU-GI-OH for a while then rebuilt a deck from his brothers extra cards.  Also my pal Clayton was their.  The two of us are pretty much equally matched.  He runs a chaos spell caster deck witch includes the new movie spell caster promo, Sorcerer of Dark Magic.  Then there is Chris B. he really kicks butt.  He runs a chaos control deck and has finished in the top three in at least a dozen tournaments.  Next there is the biggest threat at this tournament Justin S.  He also runs a chaos control deck, and has won at least two tournaments as well as placed in the top three in a few dozen others.  I have forgotten the other two guy’s names, but it really does not matter because I didn’t play them.

*NOTE: I LOST MY SHEAT THAT I KEPT MY OPONETS LIFE PTS. ON SO NO  TALLY WILL BE GIVEN ON THEIR LIFE.

First round: me vs. Chris B.:

First round and I have to go up against the mighty Chris B.  I figure heck its double elimination so what’s one loss.

First game I activate imperial order right of the bat, and I keep it up for four turns.  Amazingly I win the first game.

My LP: 8000 – 7300 – 6600 – 5900 – 5200 - 4200

Second game he dominated me, and I had no chance of victory.

My LP: 8000 – 6400 – 3100 – 0

Third game I used my imperial order and kept it for a turn.  I grabbed field control and dominated the duel.

My LP: 8000 – 7300

The first round went to me.  I couldn’t believe that I defeated the mighty Chris.

Second Round: me vs. Jonathan:

Like I said he gave up the game and took it up again.  I would have rather played his brother so it would have been more of a challenge.

First game I just smacked him around like a rag doll.

My LP: 8000

Second game he actually did some damage, the final 500 of witch was with a just deserts.

My LP: 8000 – 7600 - 7100

Third Round: me vs. Justin S.:

I was still riding my hi from beating Chris, and was confident that I could win.

First game he got out his luster soldier, and kicked my butt.

My LP: 8000 – 4500 -0

Second game was pretty much like the first.

My LP: 8000 – 6300 – 1600 – 0

Well I was starting to lose that hi I mentioned until Justin shook my hand and said, “I’ll see you in the finals.”

Semi-Finals: me vs. Clayton:

When Clayton and I duel we usually fall into this pattern where one of us gets control and beats the snot out of the other.  We also have our own dueling banter we use on each other like, “Draw your last pathetic card.” or, “I have just drawn the card of your destruction.”  We like to have fun when we duel.

First game I grabbed control first.

My LP: 8000

Second game he grabbed control first.

My LP: 8000 – 6300 – 5900 – 2600 – 700 – 0

Third game I grabbed control first.

My LP: 8000

Finals: me vs. Justin S.:

I was supper siked about being in the finals for the first time ever.

First game was a total smack-down, no holds bared, brawl.  Each of us were using our best cards and our best combos on each other.  But I finally gained field control and won.

My LP: 8000 – 6500 – 6400 – 5300

Second game went a lot like the first until I had an open shot at his life points.  He had no monsters or face down cards and only one card in his hand.  At 1100 lps I drew my cyber jar.  I flipped my wall of illusions into attack and did 1000 pts of damage before I realized that he only had 1900 lps left, and I could have finished him off if I had summoned my cyber jar first.  He draws and sets a monster in defense, then ends his turn.  I draw ring of destruction.  I set it then switch wall into defense.  Then I ended my turn. After he drew I activated my ring to blowup my wall doing each of us 1000 pts of damage.  When the smoke cleared I had 100 lps and he had -100 lps.  I had just won the tournament.

My LP: 8000 – 6100 – 4300 – 2500 – 1100 – 100

1st place was $15 cash and 2nd was 2 booster packs.

Some after thoughts:

This was a great tournament even though it was small.  I have claimed my first tournament victory, gained respect, proven that fiends and spell casters are not a fools choice, and trounced two of the best players in my area.

My pal Clayton got third because Chris didn’t feel like dueling for it because their was no prize for it.  I have also recently made some modifications to my deck.  I have removed the two plasma zone cards and replaced them with another space typhoon and a heavy storm.  I have also replaced my two spear cretins with skilled dark magicians.
