That's my deck, everybody. Anyway, I got some cards that I needed for the burn deck I plan to take to regionals before the tourney started. Then Bill put us into groups, and the tourney started.

Round 1
vs. Evan (100-card n00b deck)

Duel 1
Not much to say here. He actually summoned a Big Koala, mostly because I wasn't drawing anything to take care of his monsters, but I Snatched it and that pretty much settled it.
Me 8000
Evan 8000//6200//3500//4500//0

Duel 2
Not much to say here, either. Just another routine victory.
Me 8000//7500//7000
Evan 8000//7800//6300//3000//0

Result: W (2-0)
Overall: 2-0

Round 2
vs. Joseph (control/beatdown hybrid)

Duel 1
This kid had gotten a bit better since I last played him, and he caught me a bit off-guard with all the sp33d and his DMoC. Also, in this duel, he used 2 MST, and even though the restrictions have been public knowledge for about 2 weeks, Bill still let it slide for today because about 10-15 people didn't know about it.
Me 8000//6500//5500//3900//2300//900//700//0
Joseph 8000//7000//5400

Duel 2
My only damage in this duel was from my own Ring. He couldn't touch me after that.
Me 8000//5700
Joseph 8000//6500//5500//3200//900//100//0

Duel 3
Not much to say here again. I just don't remember anything except the Yata-lock.
Me 8000//6400//4800//4700
Joseph 8000//7000//5500//4700//4400//3400///0

Result: W (2-1)
Overall: 4-1

Round 3
vs. Austin (Gravity Bind deck)

Duel 1
I took him down easily, but I can't remember how.
Me 8000//6300//5300//5000//4000
Austin 8000//6300//4800//1800//0

Duel 2
Before this duel, I sided out Airknight and Spirit Reaper for Jinzo and Reflect Bounder. I knew I'd need Jinzo against his Bind. Anyway, I Snatched his Maha Vailo early on and hit him good. Even though I had forgotten to factor in the 500 pt. bonus from Snatch, he did have 1000 points from a Gravity Axe. Anyway, I eventually Yata-locked him, but what a moron: he called it a Yata-bind.
Me 8000//6100//5100
Austin 8000//5450//6450//3600//4600//5600//2600///0

Result: W (2-0)
Overall: 6-1, 1st place in my group

Round 4 (Quarterfinals)
vs. Roosevelt (beatdown)

Duel 1
This was just too easy.
Me 8000//7000
Roosevelt 8000//6100//2400//3400//0

Duel 2
It was at the end of the duel. I was at 4500 to his 1100. I summoned CED and nuked. He chained Ring, but he forgot to chain his other face-down card, Ceasefire, to the Ring. If he had remembered to do that, he would have won.
Me 8000//7500//5500//4500//500
Roosevelt 8000//4900//2900//1100//0

Result: W (2-0)
Overall: 8-1

Round 5 (Semifinals)
vs. Eladio (n00b beatdown)

Duel 1
How this guy got so far is beyond me. His deck is terrible. However, I actually had to come from behind to win it.
Me 8000//7000//5500//4700
Eladio 8000//6500//4600//0

Duel 2
His Bazoo threw me for a loop early on. Later, I had a Sangan in attack mode and 3 Scapegoat tokens in defense. He tributed for Driceratops, but he attacked my Sangan. I got DDWL, and a few turns later I Yata-locked him. Once again, a costly mistake by the other guy helped me.
Me 8000//6200//5700//5400//4000
Eladio 8000//7700//7400//6600//6400///0

Round 6 (Finals)
vs. Alex (Warrior beatdown)

Duel 1
This duel was close, but he won.
Me 8000//7900//7000//5800//5000//3200//2800//2600//1800//700//0
Alex 8000//2700//1400//600

Duel 2
I took him down easily, but can't remember how.
Me 8000//7800//7600//5800
Alex 8000//6400//4400//0

Duel 3
This one was memorable, and here's how it went down. After a Ring by me on his Blade Knight, we were both at 6400. I had a Merchant and a Call face down. It was my turn. I flipped the Merchant, hoping to discard a Dark so that I could summon the CED in my hand. I ended up discarding several Darks, including Jinzo, which I revived. I then removed stuff to summon CED, normal summoned DDWL, and Reborned my Kycoo to max out the field. That would have been 9000 damage, but he used Kuriboh on CED. So I just nuked for victory, and that was it.
Me 8000//6400//5400
Alex 8000//6400//0

Result W (2-1)
Overall: 12-2

I only used $4.00 of my $20 store credit for a pack of Marvel that I promised to get for my friend and a Smashing Ground. Bill let me save the rest because I wasn't sure what else to get, if anything. And now, props and slops.

pr0ps

-to everybody for good matches today.
-to Bill for holding the tourneys.

sl0ps

-to Bill for letting the restriction list slide. Come one, those guys should have been DQ'd.
-to that kid that said Yata-bind. It's Yata-lock, get it right.
