And now, here's my, um, deck.

40 Skull Servants

Yeah, woo, go Skull Servants.

Anyway, before the tournament began, I bought a Manticore and Mystik Wok for $10. I also bought a Scapegoat off some kid for $2. And now, on to the good stuff.

Round 1
vs. Darelle (Warrior; 0-0)

Duel 1
This kid's deck was pretty good. I dealt him a lot of damage with Dons and things and beat him, though.
Me 8000>6500>6300
Darelle 8000>4300>4100>0

Duel 2
Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell dealt me 2000 damage in this duel, and I later took 1800 for using Duo and Premature. The only damage he inflicted on me from battle was 200 from Marauding Captain attacking my Sangan, I think. For a while I was chipping at his life with Yata. Then I got Tribe out, and he just couldn't get rid of it.
Me 8000>7000>6000>5800>4800>4000
Darelle 8000>7000>6800>6600>6400>4800>3200>0

Round 2
vs. Cody (Chaos beatdown; 2-0)

Duel 1
I dealt him 3100 with Don and Bounder early, then he cleared everything. We were topdecking, and I topdecked a Breaker for game.
Me 8000>7400>5700>4200
Cody 8000>4900<5900>4500>3500>1600>0

Duel 2
It was pretty even for a while. Then he summoned Jinzo, and attacked with a ton of monsters for game.
Me 8000>7000>6100>5500>3300>0
Cody 8000>7000>3600<4600

Duel 3
My Kycoo and Berserk Gorilla totally beat him down. Game, set, match.
Me 8000>7000>5200>4900>3700>3000
Cody 8000>7000>6700>4900>2900>900>0

Round 3
vs. Eddie (Exodia; 2-2)

Duel 1
I Duo'd early, and the only damage I took thereafter was 1800 from Ring, I think. His Drain Shield gave him some early LP advantage, but I came back.
Me 8000>7000>5200
Eddie 8000<9800>8000>6200>3300>2200>0

Duel 2
Opening hand Duo did it for me again.
Me 8000>7000
Eddie 8000>6000>4900>1400>0

Round 4
vs. Josh (beatdown; 5-2)

Duel 1
I played this guy a long time ago when he used to play a Drop Off control. He has since switched to a beatdown, and it's almost as sick. Emphasis on almost.
Me 8000>6100>5100>4300>3600>2200
Josh 8000>7600>6600>5600>3900>2900>0

Duel 2
He summoned Jinzo, Lily, and something else all in the same turn. Ouch.
Me 8000>7200>0
Josh 8000>7800>7000>5000

Duel 3
Attacked early with Witch and Sangan, then later with Tribe and Breaker, and finished him with Reaper and Yata.
Me 8000>7200>7000
Josh 8000>6900>5900>2700>2400>2100>1600>0

Round 5
vs. Michael (beatdown; 0-8)

Duel 1
This kid was easily the worst in the group. No challenge at all.
Me 8000
Michael 8000>6300>5200>4700>1800>0

Duel 2
Opening hand Duo, combined with Tribe and Kycoo beating him down, and he didn't stand a chance.
Me 8000>7000
Michael 8000>6400>3000>0

And so, with a 10-2 record in the Swiss portion, I was good for top 8. There were also 8 guys playing a little single elimination group, and the winners of that and the juniors got top 8 as well. Let the fun begin.

Round 6
vs. Tony (beatdown; 8-4)

Duel 1
This guy had placed 2nd in his group, and he was no slouch. But I jsut kept killing his hand, and I never missed a beat.
Me 8000>7000>6100>5700
Tony 8000>6100>4700>3200>1700>900>0

Duel 2
At some point in this duel, he used Premature on Berserk Gorilla when I had a Jinzo out. Needless to say, I won next turn due to that blunder.
Me 8000>7200>6600
Tony 8000>6600>4800>4700>3600>3200>0

Round 7
vs. Junior Champ (chaos beatdown; didn't know his record)

Duel 1
This kid is Josh's brother, and his deck is about the same level. So I just beat him down with Jinzo to win this one.
Me 8000>4600>4400
Junior 8000>6000>5800>4200>1800>0

Duel 2
Can't remember, only that it was close. I did at one point Mirror Force his Bazoo after it had removed 3, though.
Me 8000>7200>6200>5900>5000>34300>2000
Junior 8000>6200>5900>5100>4100>3100>2000>600>0

Round 8 (finals)
vs. David (Chaos; 12-3, I think)

Duel 1
He used CED's effect first turn, and somehow I came back.
Me 8000>4700>3900>2200>2000>1000
David 8000>7000>6800>6600>5800>5700>5300>0

Duel 2
He beat me by overwheliming numbers, not by chaos. Ha!
Me 8000>6400>4800>3800>900>0
David 8000>6400>5600>4800

Duel 3
This one took forever because neither of use drew anything or attacked for a while. We were just sitting on about 1000 life apiece. Then I managed to clear up his field with D.D. Warrior Lady and BLS, and I won.
Me 8000>7200>2400>1500>1000
David 8000>4700>1300>900>0

And so, with my first tourney win ever in over 30 appearances at Primetime, I used my $20 store credit to buy Injection Fairy Lily.

Props:

-as always, to Bill for holding tournaments.
-as always, to all my opponents for some great duels.

-to me for winning. (16-3 record)

Slops:
