Penguin Soldier

After a few weeks of losing with my normal beat down deck, I decided to return to my magical scientist, I recently added last wills to my deck. So I thought this might work out.

Round 1: Me vs. Stanly ( I couldn’t tell what kind of deck this guy had, the duels didn’t last long and he didn’t have many gooc cards)

Duel 1:

I could tell right away this guy didn’t have many of the cards considered staples. I let him go first and he just put 1 card face down. I played graceful charity and dumped my catapult turtle and mirage of nightmare. I reborned my catapult turtle and summoned magical scientist. Then I played change of heart, he had a face down man-eater bug. I attacked with scientist and catapult turtle. Then used magical scientist’s effect to bring out a fusion monster, then sacrificed with catapult. I repeated until I won.

Duel 2:

He started out with one face down card and one face down m/t. I played my cyber jar face down, along with 3 m/t face down. Unexpectedly he played harpie’s feather duster against me, which I couldn’t stop. He attacked my cyber jar with his witch of black forest. I didn’t draw any monsters, and he brought out yata with the witch’s effect. Since I had no monsters on my next turn I lost.

Duel 3:

I started out slow, a couple face down monsters. It heated up when once again I played graceful charity and dumped my catapult turtle. He brought out a summoned skull, but I played torrential tribute. On my next turn I played harpie’s feather duster to clear my path, summoned magical scientist and played call of the haunted on my catapult turtle, and did the usualy combo for the win.

Round 2: Me vs. Unknown Duelist (beat down archfiend deck)

Duel 1.

This one was in the bag fast. He started out with swords and an archfiend soldier and swords. I destroyed his swords and placed a monster face down and a scapegoat face down. Then after a few moves he summoned jinzo and attacked, I played scapegoat. On my next turn I summoned cannon soldier and sacrificed all my monsters and played 2 last wills, allowing me to bring both magical scientist and catapult turtle. So I did the effect and it went down to my lp- 400, his lp-500. I accidently said “attack”, even though I didn’t see his jingo on the field, I tried to recall my attack, and sacrifice my catapult turtle to take away his remaining 500lp. But after a little arguing the owner decided to call it a draw.

Duel 2:

After the little debate I was to say the least a little frustrated. He started off once again with an archfiend soldier. I managed to buy a few turns with gravity bind. After a few turns he had an archfiend soldier and a Gemini elf. I destroyed his magic/traps with feather duster. Then I snatch stole his monster and did a kamikaze with his Gemini elf/archfiend soldier. Then I summoned magical scientist and played last will and brought out a catapult turtle for the win.

Duel 3:

This duel I got overwhelmed. He started strong with 1900 monsters. He kept using mst on my magic and traps. After a few turns his monsters had taken out my life points. But now was the problem. 1 win each, 1 lose each, and 1 draw. Since we were being technical the first round I suggested we call it a draw, no 4th duel. The owner decided that the both of us would advance to the next round.

Round 3: Me vs. Adam (beat down deck)

Duel 1:

This was over on my first turn. He went first, he was acting all tough saying he had a great hand. Well he had shuffled a pot of greed and a graceful charity into my opening hand. I played both of those, threw out some worthless cards. Played change of heart summoned cannon soldier, sacrificed both monsters, brought out my scientist and my catapult turtle. Again the combo worked.

Duel 2:

It started off fine. He placed a monster face down, but he made sure to place a m/t face down. I played my witch face down. Then he played change of heart and brought out jinzo and took a good chunk of my lp. I put cyber jar face down and he attacked it. I drew no monsters. I just tried to make a comback with my scapegoat and poison of the old man. But this only bought me a few turns, but I had to show them I refuse to give up as long as I have the ability to draw just one card.

Duel 3:

This duel was almost identical as the first, he went first and summoned goblin attack force. I again played pot of greed and graceful charity and discarded catapult turtle and some useless card. I reborned my turtle and change of heart his monster. I sacrificed it for a good amount of damage and played my last will brought out my magical scientist and did the usual combo for the win.

Round 4: Me vs. Wei (yata deck).

Duel 1:

He started out with confiscation, took out my graceful charity. I played a witch face down, as well as my scapegoat. He played noblemen of crossout. He summoned a Gemini elf and attacked which I played scapegoat. Then he summoned a couple dons and took out my hand and played yata. I couldn’t do anything.

Duel 2:

I went first and placed a monster face down and 3 m/t face down as well. He played heavy storm which I blocked with spell shield-type 8, leaving me with no cards in my hand. Then he played feather duster which I couldn’t block. He attacked my cannon soldier. And attacked me again directly with don zaloog, taking out my top 2 cards from my deck. This continued until my lp reached zero.

So all in all I’d have to say it went pretty well, oh I forget to mention the best part. After my lose to Wei I pulled the Morphing Jar number 1 out of my pack. So I thanked Wei for the defeat and happily showed of my newest super rare.

Props:

1. Pulling a tp4 super rare, that was great!!!

2. To the owner for trading me a Delinquent Duo for my legendary fisherman.

3. For getting to the quarter semi-finals.

Slops:

1. For losing to Wei, it was the third time in a row I have lost to him, I will beat him one day.

2. For the archfiend duelist not letting me take back one stupid move, which he knows I would have won for that move.

3. Still not getting a vampire lord or reflect bounder for my beat down deck.

That’s it for my first tournament report on pojo. Thanks to pojo for posting this, and thanks to you for reading this. Any and all comments are of course welcome. Number1namek@hotmail.com I really like to have people comment on my deck, if you can advise what I could add or subtract let me know.
