I'm fully aware I don't use Jinzo, I'm just really sick of it. It always hurts more than it helps, but anyway, back to the tournament report. It was about the average turnout, 42 people, something like that. I came with one of my friends who kinda sucks and my other two friends who are good decided not to come. Whatever. First Round> Scott Forbes vs. John Redbird I've faced this guy many times before and what always ends up happening is that I get killed first duel, and then I barely win the second and third but maybe this time was different. Duel 1 Life points 0<5600 Victory> John He messed me up pretty bad in the beginning playing Deliquent and getting rid of pot of greed. I threw away my drop off. My remaining hand was Airknight, Drop Off and Drop Off. Go figure. Anyway, as you can tell, I sucked. I eventually drew a monster, I think it was Tribe and then I got exiled but he ringed it so yeah, ouch Duel 2 Life points 400>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero Hmm, could this be a repeat of last week? Maybe so, as the night of infinite Deliquent Duo's started here. I played it immediately, getting rid of MST, he threw away an Archfiend soldier I think. Then I played confiscation and threw away Graceful. I set down an Imperial and Torrential and summoned a Gemini and ended my turn. He drew and exiled and blew up my gemini, and that was all he could do, so I take my turn and I draw monster reborn. I had Vampire Lord in my hand so you knew what was coming. The duel went pretty much downhill there for him, although he did quite a bit of damage to me at the end. He drew something, I can't remember and killed VL and started pounding me for a bit, but I drew premature and took back Airknight, killing him. Duel 3 Life points 700>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero Hahaha, it happened again. Almost a repeat of Duel # 2, except I never used VL. I was losing pretty badly because he had a Kycoo and a Gemini on the field and I had no monsters except Airknight in my hand. I drew change of heart, took his gemini, sac'd it for Airknight, killing Kycoo, I drew drop off and it was over there. I barely even got up when I had to face some other guy. 2nd Round> Maverick Hunter Zero vs. Some guy (Don't remember his name) Duel 1 Life points 6600>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero Wow, that was easy. The only hit he got on my was with my Don, and he died easily. I don't think he was very good. I used Airknight the entire duel. Duel 2 Life points 7000>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero Man, that was easy. I think I ringed his exiled or something and that was the only damage I took. I annhilated him with VL. Sorry guys, the duel went by so fast I couldn't keep track. Yet again, I barely get up and have to duel 3rd Round> Maverick Hunter Zero vs. Darren (The guy who lost to my friend in the finals a while ago) Duel 1 Life points 4400-0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero I couldn't really remember this round very well, but I'll try. He took and early lead by playing confiscation and getting rid of pot of greed. Yet again, I had DD in my hand (I did every duel of the night except the first one) and I tore up his hand. After I cleared his field with a little bit of Raigeki action, I nailed him with the Vampire man. Aww yeah! Duel 2 Life points 5600>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero Basically, the same thing happened except he got fewer monsters this time and I drew Airknight instead. I still pummeled him. The guy is pretty good, but I guess I got lucky or something. YET AGAIN, I barely get up and have to duel 4th Round> Maverick Hunter Zero vs. Alex Eastman (Aka, the kid I always beat every single time) Man, I feel so sorry for this guy, I beat him every time I face him, almost always Yata-locking him. Duel 1 Life points 6000>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero Holy crap, I got really lucky. DD, conf and drop off first hand. I drew gemini, did what was needed and never took any damage from him. Duel 2 Life points 3900>0 Victiory> Maverick Hunter Zero He hit me with a gemini (probably mine) and a Don zaloog (also probably mine) and that was all the damage I took. I creamed him without even needing Yata. Finally I had some time to relax so I watched the semi finals (with that victory, I was in the finals) I'm not going to recap that duel cause it took so long but it was Greg Nauth vs. Jamie Bernard and Greg won. Just in case you don't know, Greg's the best guy in the store. We've faced eachother 5 times before this time and I had the series in my favor 3-2. Anway, here it goes. Duel 1 Life points 3600>0 Victory> Maverick Hunter Zero I had him early with Vampire Lord. He eventually lost a lot of cards due to Mirage of Nightmare and he Raigeki break'd one of my monsters but that was all he could do. I think I Yata locked him this duel but I may be wrong. Duel 2 Life points 0<4000 Victory> Greg Nauth Damn. He wiped me clean with Injection Fairy, DD and Confiscation. I was drawing really bad and there was nothing I could do. I got crushed. Duel 3 Life points 0<2400 Victory> Greg Nauth URRRGGHHH!!! I was so close! He had VL in his hand and I was almost topdecking but he didn't know what I had in my hand so with witch he got Fiber. Lol, he should've got Yata, that would've killed me, but I had a bad Fiber Jar and he rushed me with his monsters when I got pretty much none. Oh well, c'est la vie. I opened my tourney pack and pulled Dragon Seeker, Greg pulled crap, so there's a bit of consolation. Oh well, better luck next time. Scott Forbes sear_lubinus@yahoo.ca
