Deck: Best Deck Period Looney Toons NewBedford MA Saterday, January 10, 2004 23 Participants One thing I don't get is these different deck types everyone is always talking about. In the end, it comes down to one thing: in Yu-Gi-Oh! there is only one deck that wins. I'm not talking about winning matches, I'm talking about winning championships. Am I talking about beatdown? No. Maybe the deck originated from beatdown, but when you replace 1900 atack monsters with 1600 and 1700 atack monsters, the deck no longer becomes a beatdown deck. It becomes a deck of 40 cards, all different from eachother, diverse in every way. With such diversity in a deck, it has no weakness, it wins one game without playing a monster, the next with a yata-lock, and the next with direct damage, and another with sangan and witch going "beats" (the only "beats" I've been seeing lately), the deck becomes somewhat invincible, unstoppable, unmatchable. The deck becomes known as, simply, the best deck, period. Here is my deck, along with the changes I will make when the next set comes out: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Monsters: 15 Jinzo (soon to be replaced with "Choas Dragon: Messenger of the End") Bazoo: The Soul Eater (soon to be replaced with "Fiber Jar") Breaker: The Magic Warrior Tribe Infecting Virus Exiled Force Reflect Bounder D. D. Warrior Lady Magical Scientist Spirit Reaper Spirit Reaper Spirit Reaper Witch of Black Forest Sangan Yata Garasu Sinister Serpent Magics: 19 Raigeki Dark Hole Harpies Feather Dister Heavy Storm Pot of Green Graceful Charity Change of Heart Snatch Steal Monster Reborn Premature Buerial Mystical Space Typhoon Mystical Space Typhoon Mystical Space Typhoon Scapegoat (soon to be replaced with "Dark Magician of Chaos") Scapegoat (soon to be replaced with "Mirage of Nightmare") Scapegoat (soon to be replaced with "Painful Choice") Delinquent Duo Confiscation Forceful Sentry Traps: 6 Mirror Force Call of the Haunted Imperial Order Bell of Destruction Magic Cylinder Torrential Tribute ----------------------------------------------------------------------- On to the tournament! Round 1: 24 People Left This game was hard. Hard to explain to the store owner how I got a Yata Garasu lock on turn three both games. Both games were over in less than a minute each, so I had about an hour to blow while waiting for the next round. How'd I do it? Witch of Black forest first hand, Sangan second. 'Nuff Said. Round 2: 12 People Left This game fun, But it took about ten turns to win each game. It was pretty slow for me, I know, but what can I say? Those gravity binds stopped me for afew turns ^_^ I was fighting an exodia deck, the only deck that has a chance of beating me. I think the odds were like one in a million or so, but thats still more than the zero out of a million chance I give everyone else. But how am I going to stop a first turn full hand of exodia? Anyway, I won both games, and chilled a while till the next round. Round 3: 6 People Left I fought my brother this round. I won within like five turns both games, hitting hevily with Tribe Infecting Virus and Reflect Bounder. He killed the virus, I think, but nothing a Change of Heart, Monster Reborn, and Premature Burial couldn't handle^_^ I won both rounds, wondering why my brother did so badly. He didn't even put up a good fight. Round 4: 3 People Left Fun with fusions! My fusion deck had fun this round. I paid like 5000 life with Magical Scientist, blowing his field away and hitting directly for 300 damage. I finally won the first round with a Yata Garasu lock. The second round he got me down to like 3000 life... he has like 1500 life left when I won with a Snatch Steal on his Jinzo. Oh, and his deck was a clone of the so called "World Champion" deck (I laphed my butt off when I saw the chmpion's deck, it was so pathetic how could I not laph?) with a few new card added in. That guy (The Champion) has absolutely no common sense. Drop Off? GAWD, time seal, which is common, is 100x better. Think of the Sinister Serpent scenario. Round 5: 2 People Left The store owner came over. He wanted to know how it was possible for someone to be so good. He then saw first hand, as he watched me own my opponent. The guy I fought had a deck very close to mine, only without Magical Scientist (The best creature in the game, which so happens to be common!). I showed him the power of the scientist, talking out his field with fusion monsters that negated traps and effect monsters. The finishing blow was with Tribe Infecting Virus, ending the final round in less than ten minutes. I had only like 1600 life left, even though my opponent didn't even touch me. (good old scapegoat, lol!) Props: -Won 50 dollars in store credit. -Baught Magic: The Gathering Cards with the 50 dollars. -Finally completed my Wake Deck in Magic: The Gathering. Slops: -None.
