This is my first tourney report, hope you enjoy

First Round: Me vs. Some kid with pink sleeves

We flipped a coin to choose who goes first.  He won the coin toss.   He drew his sixth card and then played graceful charity.  I was thinking to myself, “Why does everyone get to their pot’s and graceful’s before I do.”  He then played forceful sentry (I hate that card).  After seeing my hand, he pretty much anticipated every move I made from then on.  On my turn, I tried to summon a monster and he blew it up with ring.  I then put down my trap and he activated MST from the field.  On his turn, he monster reborned my monster that was ringed, and summon don zaloog, and hit with all three monsters that was on the field.  That basically ended the game.  Luckily for me, that was the only game he won.  For the second and third duel, I completely murdered him with my beatdown monsters (in my opinion, because he couldn’t see my hand to anticipate my moves).

Second Round: Me vs. another little kid

This kid also ran hand destruction (actually, everyone at the regionals ran hand destruction; I think I was the only one running beatdown).  This duel was rather quick.  I won the coin toss and went first.  I drew six cards and then played pot of greed.  Drew two of my favorite traps, ring of destruction and torrential tribute.  I put my witch face down along with my torrential tribute.  On his turn, he summoned breaker and I blew up the field with torrential.  I then searched for my archfiend soldier.  On my turn, I summoned archfiend soldier and attacked for 1900, and put down ring of destruction.  On his turn, he played raigeki and summoned don zaloog (saw like 20 of these guys at the regionals).  He chose to attack and I chained ring.  On my turn, I summon goblin attack force and attacked.  He then killed my goblin with witch of the black.  On my turn, I reborned my goblin and hit with my other goblin for the game.

Third Round: Me vs. a guy with yet another hand destruction

This duel was extremely hard, because he played forceful, and delinquent duo on his first turn.  Then, when I tried to draw, he activated drop off.  Thinking that if I didn’t do something soon, I placed my cyber jar face down, hopefully so I can replenish my hand.  He summoned Gemini elf and attack my cyber.  I drew 3 magic cards, along with a goblin attack force and a tribe infecting virus.  He drew a don a Gemini, and a breaker.  He killed my tribe, but couldn’t get rid of goblin.  I then summoned jinzo (next card I drew) and played raigeki and attacked for 2400.  he then placed a monster face down.  I drew nobleman of crossout (talk about heart of the cards) and got rid of his witch of the black, and summon goblin attack force and hit for 4700.  He dark holed the field and attack with don and got my snatch steal.  I then drew premature burial, and brought back jinzo and summoned tribe infecting virus and won.

Fourth Round: Me vs. some funny guy named Andrew

I lost to him for only one reason, STALLING!  He had three scapegoats, about two gravity binds, and what seemed like 10 spirit reapers.  The reason for his stalling was because he had a burn deck.  He equipped nightmare wheel to my vampire lord and I was stuck for a long time.  I luckily drew heavy storm so I could get rid of his gravity bind and nightmare wheel only for him to activate scapegoat.  This pissed me off.  After two turns, I managed to kill all his scapegoats and got my first attack in.  The rest of the duel he stalled some more and he burned my lifepoints away with nightmare and dark room of something (an extra 300 damage when direct damage is done to my lifepoints).

Props:

Slops:

EVERYONE running hand destruction (getting very annoying)

Losing to a stall deck
