Mind Puppet's 'Card from Hand!' Deck Mind Puppet Bob's Collectables Hamburg, New Jersey December 11, 2004 20 Participants Well, I've run many decks in my day, all of which were terrible. Chronological order: 1.) Yugi Starter Deck :D 2.) Water/Spellcaster 3.) Beatdown/Equips 4.) Get my blue eyes out and wait for you to use dark hole/raigeki 5.) Chaos Sorceror 6.) Chaos Control After facing my friend Chris aka Whitey, I decided that if I was going to lose against his deck anymore, that I would use a deck with the exact same cards, so i had him make me a list. Im now mind puppet because i have adopted all of the tactics of Whitey. (Now Im 2nd best at my school, behind whitey who i can beat 1-3 times) Monsters: (ABC Order) Breaker the Magical Warrior x1 Cyber Jar x 1 D.D. Warrior Lady x 2 Dark Ruler Ha Des x 1 Don Zaloog x 1 Fiber Jar x 1 Jinzo x 1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer x 2 Magical Scientist x 1 Mystic Tomato x 2 Sinister Serpent x 1 Spirit Reaper x 3 Tribe-Infecting Virus x 1 Magic: (ABC Order) Call of the Haunted x 1 Change of Heart x 1 Creature Swap x 2 D.D. Designator x 2 Dust Tornado x 2 Heavy Storm x 1 Magic Cylinder x 1 Mystical Space Typhoon x 1 Nobleman of Crossout x 2 Pot of Greed x 1 Premature Burial x 1 Ring of Destruction x 1 Scapegoat x 2 Snatch Steal x 1 Swords of Revealing Light x 1 The Forceful Sentry x 1 Torrential Tribute x 1 Fusion Deck: Dark Balter the Terrible x 3 Thousand-Eyes Restrict x 2 Dark Flare Knight x 3 Now, for the tourney: Round 1: People: Mind Puppet vs Small Child with big teeth Decks: 'Card from Hand!' vs Random compilation of cards Duel 1: Well, safe to say, I might as well've had a buy. This was ridiculous. I used my patented 'Attack with 2 reapers' tactic to keep his hand flushed. Since there is nothing special about this duel, ill take this opprotunity to explain my deck name. On many occasions, during my duels, I attack directly with spirit reaper(s) and Don Zaloog. I also use Forceful sentry. At that point, I proceed to say 'Card from Hand! Card from Hand! Card from Hand!' very rapidly and grab a card from their hand and drop it in the graveyard. Good Times, good times. VICTORY! Duel 2: Blah Blah Blah, my opponent has no hand again, Jinzo keeps down cards at bay. Finishing move, Heavy Storm, attack with Jinzo and Ha Des. VICTORY! Record: 2-0 Round 2: People: Mind Puppet vs Small Child 2 Decks: 'Card From hand!' vs Beatdown/Negation Duel 1: I took some time to scope out this deck by stalling and activating his traps, just so I could take advantage of the 2nd and 3rd Duel. Well, I didn't need to. Turns out this kid made it to this round with a bye in the first round, he was just as bad as the 1st kid. Even after triggering his traps (Which were like enchanted javelin xD) I ended this duel with 6000 LP. Only damage was from magical scientist. VICTORY! Duel 2: Really expecting his deck to be better, because you really can't get a worse draw than the one he got before that. He did some sidedecking beforehand which i payed no attention to. He chose to go first and he, for some reason, added dragons and lords of D. Well, he summoned a Red Eyes and a Lord of D. My turn, I set Scapegoat and Torrential, he drew, set a monster, attacked, and i activated scapegoat, then chained with TT, destroying all of his monsters and my goats. Duel went as planned, with the exception of me drawing 0 reapers this duel, and I won with 5150 LP. VICTORY! Record: 4-0 Round 3: People: Mind Puppet vs Kid who beat me 2 weeks ago when i had my chaos control Decks: 'Card From Hand!' vs Chaos Warrior Cookie Cutter Duel 1: Plain and simple: he had 1 card, I attack with Spirit Reaper (Card from hand!) Don Zaloog (2 Cards from deck) Kycoo (Removed Envoy and Sinister) After that, i just stalled and chipped at his life, wasn't long before... VICTORY! Duel 2: This did not bode well for me. He chose to go second, was very offensive, and I couldn't eat up his chaos food (Lights and Darks) quick enough, and before i knew it, my jinzo was snatch stolen, Envoy was staring me down, and my Magical Scientist was in attack mode. DEFEAT! Duel 3: I was on fire. His Envoy made an appearance, for a turn. He removed my down monster (Don Zaloog) and got a shot in with his 1800 normal monster. Next Turn, I'm pondering what to do, and see he has nothing down M/T wise. So I go for it. I Snatch steal his envoy, and use his effect to remove himself. (Aka Envoys fatal flaw xD) Then I Use Change of Heart, Summon my Spirit Reaper and boom! 'Card from hand!' 2 turns later... VICTORY! Record: 6-1 Round 4: (Winner's bracket Semi-Finals) People: Mind Puppet vs 1st Timer Decks: 'Card from Hand' vs Supreme Negation Duel 1: had no idea what to expect, 1st timers are hand to judge, I figured a burn deck, but was way off. This kid was good, but had a bye in rounds 2 and 3, so he didn't need much skill to get here. As far as negation goes, he was good, but his dueling wasn't clean, he was using way to many cards, like scapegoat and waboku to stop attacks. Sort of redundant if you ask me. Ended after some magical scientist magic and a jinzo. VICTORY! Duel 2: No Contest. Opening Draw: Reaper, Reaper, Don, Scapegoat, Creature Swap He was handless after my 1st two turn top-deck cards. Nobleman of crossout and Heavy Storm. VICTORY! Record: 8-1 Round 5: (Winner's Bracket Finals) People: Mind Puppet vs My New Rival: Jon Decks: 'Card from Hand' vs Very Efficient Chaos Control Duel 1: It was so even, its not even funny. My field would be full and powerful, he'd stop attacks and stuff, then the tables would turn, then I'd do some magical scientist magic, and we'd be even, and so on. We were both under 1500. Me: Spirit Reaper in face-up defense, no M/T, No hand. Him: No Field, 1 card in hand, he top decks, of all things, Tribe Infecting Virus!!! Safe to say... DEFEAT! Duel 2: This is why we're Rivals. If you can possibly be this even, there is no way you can call anyone else your rival. Again, we went back and forth controling the field. Final Move: I had 1 goat token and he had envoy. I use premature burial on jinzo, he uses space typhoon, i use call of the haunted on jinzo, he stays out this time. I turn my goat token to attack mode, and use creature swap, giving him my scapegoat and getting his envoy. Game. VICTORY Duel 3: At this point, the time limit was running low so, I just jumped at him quick to lower his LP before the time ran out. With 5 minutes left, I have reaper in attack mode, Two down monsters, and a bluff M/T facedown. (Nobleman of crossout). He draws his magical scientist, and summons 3 dark flare knights and a sanwitch. He attacks my Reaper with all 4 monsters.... DEFEAT! Record: 9-3 The rules in this tournament are: When you lose, you go to the loser's bracket, and, if you lose anywhere in the losers bracket, you are out. So basically, 2 losses and you're out. So Now I get plugged into the loser's bracket in the semi-finals. Loser's Bracket: (Semi-Finals) People: Mind Puppet vs Kid who comes in 3rd alot Decks: 'Card from Hand' vs Chaos (ugh not again) Duel 1: By this point, i know the cookie-cutter chaos and all of its combos, so Im ready. I eat all of his chaos food with kycoo and annoy him with 'Card from Hand! Card from Hand! Card from Hand!' VICTORY! Duel 2: He goes all out, and gets out jinzo, Envoy, Chaos Sorceror x2 in 1 turn and scapegoats can only last so long. And my hand consisting of 2 Noblemen wasn't helping. DEFEAT! Duel 3: he uses the same tactics as duel 2, but I was ready this time. I waited for all of his guys to come out, then I used Torrential. My Turn: Breaker Comes out, breaks his M/T card, and I attack directly. Shortly thereafter... VICTORY! Record: 11-4 Time to take a stab at another finals. : ) After my loss against Jon, he's been sitting there hoping for me to win so we can face off again. Loser's Bracket: (Finals) People: Mind Puppet vs Tyler (2nd Rank at Bob's and winner last time I went) Decks: 'Card from Hand' vs Lock and Seal Duel 1: I thought for sure I would lose this, and I did. This wasn't even a duel, it was me drawing useless things, and him bumping me with monsters until.... DEFEAT! Duel 2: At this point, I didn't have a type-set for his deck, I hadn't lasted long enough for that. This time I got it for sure. It's not a hard deck to beat, but it sure was annoying. Every turn or so, It seemed Id be hit with Time Seal (I cant draw next turn) or Drop Off. Luckily, I can withstand some attacks and still come back. VICTORY! Duel 3: 4 turns in he had no hand and I kept it that way. : ) VICTORY! Record: 13-5 Here we go, I won the Loser's Bracket and Jon won the Winner's Bracket. You know what that means: Time for the Final Battle. THE FINALS: People: Mind Puppet vs Jon Decks: 'Card from Hand' vs Very Efficient Chaos Control (Look Familiar?) Duel 1: Made some mistakes with Magical Scientist. Payed 2000 brought out 2 Balters and he waboku'ed. -_- After that, some well played control cards brought my demise. Duel 2: I had to pull something out of my... oh wait, no swearing. I needed to turn this around, and quick. Unfortunately, I couldn't... I got the single best draw my deck can offer, just for it to be discarded to the graveyard by card destruction... With no Don, Call, Premature, Reaper, and Heavy Storm, my Tournament victory slipped to Jon, and I had to live with Runner up. Record: 13-7 I didn't win, but I did get a pack of the new set, i dont know the name, it's the one after Soul of the Duelist. I pulled a Big Core. Nice looking card, not great but it works for me as a trading cookie. In addition, 2nd and 1st get to choose randomly from 12 cards all of which are holo. Jon pulled a magical cylinder and I pulled a gemini elf, not bad, but another trading cookie. Time for everyone's favorite: Props and Slops Props: - To Whitey for the deck list - To Jon for the best match of my life - To Me for getting 2nd - To you for reading this - To Billy for selling me his Creature Swap ($8 :D) Slops: - To Chaos for being the worst deck type - To envoy for having a fatal flaw - To Metal Raiders for not giving me a heavy Storm out of the pack I bought - To Bob for not allowing drinks in the store Well, Kiddies, that's all for now. Perhaps, next week I'll have another. Until then, Mind Puppet out (LOBRecords@mail.com)
