Harpies Feather Duster

I've run a Burn/Stall hybrid deck ever since the release of Pharaoh Servant. Usually, it takes me pretty far. The basic idea is this: if you attack me, you will get hurt. This deck is trap-happy, and thus quite vulnerable to Jinzo, Harpies Feather, etc,. That's why I try to protect them with stuff like Judgement of Anubis (this thing is amazing! No wonder its a secret rare!) or Imperial Order. Tribe Infecting Virus is to fend of any monster that's particularly annoying me. Official rules were in effect during this tourney, and Japanese cards were permitted under the condition that you had a translation for them. It's double elimination and $3.50 to get in.

Round One: Giga Dragon vs. Frankie (Burn/Stall vs. Beatdown)
This Duel started off slow. Caught by a Gravity Binds, my foe was easy prey for the Stealth Bird. It pecked away some 3000 damage before he hurled it into a Dark Hole. My Troop Dragon was sucked in as well, so I summoned another in Defense Mode. He used Monster Reborn to resurrect a Barrel Dragon, only to have it blown up with a well-timed Ring of Destruction. Unable to attack for the entire duel, I finally ended his misery with a Ceasefire that inflicted 3500 damage in one shot. Ouch! The only damage I took was from my own RoD.
Winner: Giga Dragon (Let's-a-go!)

Round Two: Giga Dragon vs. Edward (Burn/Stall vs. Aggressive Burn)
Having dueled this guy before the tourney, I swapped Swords of Revealing Light for Barrel Behind the Door. Once again, I use the Stealth Bird to annoy my opponent. Unfortunately, it didn't last for more than 2000 damage before my infernal avian was offered as a tribute for a Lava Golem! I took 2000 damage from that burning fiend before managing to douse with the blessed Penguin Soldier. We chipped away at each other with Ceasefire, Giant Germs, and Magic Cylinders. I was cautious not to keep two monster on the field, at least not until I drew BBtD and RoD. I set the seeds of Edwards’s destruction, along with the Spear Cretin, and hoped he took the bait. Sure enough, my unwitting opponent was all too happy to lock me in the Golem's cage once again. I use Ring of Destruction on the Lava Golem, combo with Barrel, and leave my unwary opponent in awe of my mad skills!
Winner: Giga Dragon (G'Night, Sugah!)

Round Three: Giga vs. Derek (Burn/Stall vs. Chaos/Removal/Beatdown)
Let me tell you, me and him need to start charging admission when we duel. There are just that many spectators! Anyways, I was worried about his Chaos Emperor Dragon, so I switched out Wave Motion Cannon for Swords. He gets a few good direct attacks on me, blowing away my Nightmare Wheel before I even got to use it! I use Ceasefire and inflict an embarrassing 1000 damage on him. He summons the wicked Witch of the Black Forest, so I drop a RoD on her. He Snatch Steals my Troop Dragon and hits me with it, Fiber Jar, and Don Zaloog! I use Curse of Darkness and he takes 1000. I use Cylinders and Fairy Box to stall, but he summons the beast of my nightmares: the Chaos Emperor! However, I managed to fake him into thinking a set Imperial Order was a Mirror Force. He switches his Vampire Lord and CED into defense and attacks with two D.D. Warrior Ladies. If he had hit me with his full-out army, I would have lost right there. (me = 300LP, Derek = 400LP) It’s down to the wire! He uses Painful Choice, and I give him Dimension Fusion. It costs 2000LPs to play, so using it would kill him. Luckily, I draw Cyber Jar and successfully use its effect! I get 4 monsters (one of which is the Stealth Bird) while he gets only one. Derek goes on to summon Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning and use its effect. He aims its removal effect... and hits the Giant Germ! My next turn I flip the Stealth Bird and claim victory!
Winner: Giga Dragon (Man, that was a good duel *falls over*)

This places me in the winner’s bracket. I'm undefeated while everyone else has suffered a loss. They fight amongst themselves, unleash Chaos Emperors left and right, but finally, my old nemesis returns!

Final Bout: Giga Dragon vs. Derek (Burn/Stall vs. Chaos/Hand Destruction)
This one... wasn't even close. Derek side decked some cards, switching from removal to Hand Destruction. He managed to use Delinquent Duo three times in one duel thanks to Fiber Jar. Not to mention Forceful Sentry Twice. A pity really. I drew some really great opening hands. Because of all this, I was actually ahead! Then he summoned CED, used its effect to decimate me (10 cards on the field = 3000LP damage. The pain! The pain of it all!), and proceeded to beat me about the head and neck with Vampire Lord. I would like to know at what point in that duel I stood a chance. Oh yeah, right before he triggered my Fiber Jar with SoRL. The moral here: never, ever use Fiber Jar unless you have no other choice.
Winner: Derek (Why!? Why do they release stuff like Jinzo and CED!? Does Upperdeck just hate me!?)
