From: Thane Mullen [drbubbles2003@hotmail.com] Subject: DrBubbles Nyan Nyan Deck Nova Scotia Canada August 16th DrBubbles Nyan Nyan Deck Yarmouth Hobby Shop Approx 50 players entered. Cost: $5 (all prices listed are Canadian, and in case it makes any to difference to the Americans reading this, since I figure that would cover the majority of you, $1.00 Canadian is roughly $0.72 American). Everyone gets one PHG pack, bigger prizes given at end of every eight weeks ( No TP's). This is probobly going to be the last week this summer that I manage to make to the tournament until school starts, so I figure I might as well do a report on it. Before the tournament, I managed to get a second Imperial Order, which I later traded for Airknight Parshath (I realize I got gyped there, but it was my little brother and this way he will stop pestering me for mine), Don Zaloog, 2 Drop Offs and a Reaper of the Nightmare. Now, the deck: Monsters: Airknight Parshath x2 Exiled Force x1 Sinister Serpent x1 Witch of the Black Forest x1 Fiber Jar x1 White Magical Hat x3 Asura Priest x1 Shining Angel x3 Thunder Nyan Nyan x3 Cyber Jar x1 Mystical Knight of Jackal x1 Total :17 Magic: Heavy Storm x1 Mirage of Nightmares x1 Premature Burial x1 Mage Power x1 Pot of Greed x1 Snatch Steal x1 Different Dimension Capsule x2 MST x1 Harpie's Feather Duster x1 Graceful Charity x2 Book of Moon x1 Luminous Spark x1 Confiscation x1 Delinquent Duo x1 Forceful Sentry x1 Raigeki x1 Change of Heart x1 Total :19 Traps: Imperial Order Mirror Force Torrential Tribute Ring of Destruction Call of the Haunted Total :5 Deck : 41 Now, to the tournament. Round #1: DrBubbles v Marj (I think it's short for something)- no particular strategy. Only the first round is 2-3, so this is the only Match. Game #1: By turn three, I had Jackal out,but he was quickly destroyed. After a few more turns and attempts to get Jackal back with Premature and Reborn, I got him in with Call of the Haunted and pulled off a Jackal lock (since she kept setting the Giant Soldier of Stone repeatedly). Sorry, I don't have LP totals. Game #2: This one was pretty straight forward. 7600 damage after four turns from Parshath against Scapegoat tokens and then Ring of Destruction ended it, making the first match to finish. Round #2: DrBubbles v Michael (modified Beatdown). I don't remember much from this game, except he made the mistake of setting Spear Dragon to defend against Airknight, and that cost him in the long run. He put up a very good struggle for one of the youngest players in the senior group. Round #3: DrBubbles v Adrian (modified Beatdown). For those of you who long long, detailed reports, there is a lot more to write for this one than the last few games. Looking at my record, you'd think I have it pretty easy against this guy, but watching the game would say different. I let him choose who would go after we'd drawn our hands (I always do that because people claim I cheat at Rock, Paper Scissors) and he asked if I used Card Destruction. I said no, so he let me go first. Believe it or not, that cost him the game. I started with Confiscation, getting rid of Yata and leaving Summoned Skull, MoF, Injection and Gemini. Next, Sentry got rid of Fairy Lily. After playing Shining Angel f/d, I ended my turn. He set a card and attacked with Gemini, letting me bring out another Angel. On my turn, I used Heavy Storm, Nyan Nyan suicided against Gemini and Angel dealt 1400. Next turn, he set a M/T and set a monster, which I knew was MoF. I tributed Angel for Airknight and attacked for 1500 more. From this point on I countered his every move until Torrential Tribute and CotH set up Airknight for a finishing blow a few turns later, putting me in the finals ( that is what I thought, anyway). Round #4: DrBubbles v Exodia deck. White Magical Hat put on a clinic. Along with DD and Confiscation, I had control of this game start to finish. Apparently, either he didn't have or didn't draw Backup Soldier all game. Afterwards, I found out that their was one more opponent, a guy who had got three byes taking him to the finals. Final Round: DrBubbles v For lack up of a better name, I'll call this another modified beatdown. Again, Airknight proved why Scapegoat is too big of a risk nowadays. He did get rid of Airknight eventually and hit me for a few solid shots. Eventually, I had 3000 to his 1500. I had Jackal and he had a Goat and a Kycoo in attack. Luminous Spark was also down. Attacking with Jackal would only do 1400 and would be a risk with his three facedown M/T's. So I set RoD and ended my turn. He summoned Spear Dragon and I played Ring on his Kycoo to win the tournament...........for him after he played Barrel Behind the Door to win the tournament. So, I made it to the finals, my brother won the juniors division and I made a bunch of worthwhile trades. Finally, to all of those people out there who talk about how to be a "Rare Hunter" and write tips to Pojo's on how to cheat and steal cards, I want to quote the Canadian Junior Hockey Association's new slogan: " Relax, it's just a game."
