Synopsis:

I'm really pleased with this deck this time. It's progressed a
long way. It's still not great but it's about halfway to being close to what
the standard beatdown these days is. I posted my sidedeck this time for a
reason but I'll tell you why later.

Tournament:

Like almost all of my other reports, the tournament consisted first of three
rounds. These were two out of three matches. If you won then you got three
points. We would also keep track of if you went 2-0 or 2-1 in the match.
This would help slim down the people who go to the final eight at the end
if there was a tie as 2-0 is better than a 2-1 battle. After that, the top
eight scorers go to the top eight elimination rounds until the final winner
is decided.

Prizes:

1st: $50 store credit
2nd: $25 store credit
3rd-4th: $10 store credit
5th-8th: 1 Pack of Yugioh

Duel Reports:

--Duel #1 Lufia22 vs Eric--
"Let's cut the crap!"

-Round 1-
lufia: 8000
Eric: 8000-6000-4000-2000-0

-Round 2-
lufia: 8000-7900-6900-5900-5100
Eric: 8000-6100-5900-1300-2300-0

Comments: Wow. This kid can be really annoying. He's one of those people who
think Yatagarasu can come back to your hand if it's in the grave and stupid
rulings like that. Good thing I was one of the judges in this tournament or
I may have had some arguments with this guy. I got some good trades with
this guy so I guess I shouldn't complain. He's really rude, however. Enough
about him, what about the duels? Ok...easy. He's one of those kids who only
puts one copy of a card in his deck and sees no point in putting copies.
I'm glad I started the tournament off with an easy duel. We actually played
a third game, which was his best, but I still won. It's funny though, his LP
on my page takes up half the page because he used that damned Solemn Wishes
card. Whatever.

--Duel #2 Lufia22 vs Trip--
"Duel of the Judges! Disappointment."

-Round 1-
lufia: 8000-2800
Trip: 8000-5100-2800-0

-Round 2-
lufia: 8000-6000-5500-900-0
Trip: 8000-7100-800

-Round 3-
lufia: 8000
Trip: 8000-6200-3000-0

Comments: This is the other judge. A supposedly "good" player. He ran Weenie
Rush basically. He used cards like Dream Clown and Gray Wing. Cool stuff. I
like dueling new decks that I don't normally see so it was a breathe of
fresh air. However, I thought I was in for a challenge. The first two were
close games, as you can see...I don't think the first game was as close as
it looks as I think he just go off some big attack once and did a bunch of
damage. The last round was just pitiful. He uses big equips on things like
Hayabusa Knight so it's quite annoying when he gets on of those out. He used
United We Stand and Mage Power to make some huge monsters but I still won.
Yipee!

--Duel #3 Lufia22 vs Micheal--
"Just another desguised newbie."

-Round 1-
lufia: 8000-5500-4300
Micheal: 8000-6000-4600-3500-2400-1300-1200-0

-Round 2-
lufia: 8000-6350-5650
Micheal: 8000-7100-6800-4700-100-0

Comments: This is a guy who has made it fairly far in almost every
tournament I've been in. He actually go second last time but he just got
lucky match ups and I think he may have even gotten a "bye" last tournament.
Anyways. I was expected something more powerful. Let's just call him an
above average newbie and leave it at that.

--Duel #4 Lufia22 vs Maggy--
"To start the top eight off we feature a duel between lufia22 and a Trip
hybrid, his sister!"

-Round 1-
lufia: 8000-7300
Maggy: 8000-5700-4600-2700-2600-0

-Round 2-
lufia: 8000-6550-5550
Maggy: 8000-4000-1700-0

Comments: I enjoyed these duels. She wasn't hard or anything but she was
very polite and ejoyable to play against. A huge wiff of fresh air from
playing all those competitive guys. I'm a 16 year oldguy myself and people
were commenting on how calm I was when I play. Why? I don't take dueling
as serious as those people do. The only time I got a bit nervous was right
at the last duel of the game, but we'll get to that later. I felt bad for
beating Maggy, I was even thinking of giving her the win but the $50 prize
was too hard to give up when I was pretty sure she probably wouldn't make it
past the next round. She didn't run any real specific deck.

--Duel #5 Lufia22 vs Reeve--
"Boy, I wish this duel would end soon."

-Round 1-
lufia: 8000-9000-8000
Reeve: 8000-5000-3300-3000-2500-0

-Round 2-
lufia: 8000-9000-8000-7000-6000
Reeve: 8000-6100-4600-3700-2600-2400-0

Comments: Exodia. Exodia makes me nervous. I've never played an Exodia deck
with this deck nor have I really played an Exodia deck recently on the
internet. I was a bit nervous. The first duel I won. I don't see how, maybe
luck was on my side. He said he could have won in the first round if he had
Solemn Judgemented one of my cards and he could have possibly unless I
somehow got lucky. He kept telling me how he could have beaten me. I just
wanted to tell him to shut up, he screwed up, haha...your fault for not
thinking. Don't keep reminding me of your newbie mistake. Anyways, this is
where my side deck comes into play. I put in Exchange and Card Destruction.
This game was a bit harsh and intense. He always seemed to draw Pot of
Greed, WotBF, and Sangan. Coincident? I guess so. But anyways. I layed it
out hard with Delinquent Duo early game. I then skillfuly used my Magicians
of Faith to bring back my Duo and use it at the right time. Combine this
with me trying to keep his Backup Soldiers at bay. He used Soldier to get
some Exodia pieces back. I thought I might have lost. No. I quickly made
him discard them again. Mask of Darkness! He got it back again and used it
but he only took 2 pieces of Exodia out because the Head was in the grave.
I was pretty sure I had him locked out of the Exodia win because of the Head
being in the grave. Just to make sure I played/set all the cards that I
could that I didn't want him to have and played Exchange. I took one of his
Exodia pieces and he took my Summoned Skull. He now had to finish off my LP
becuase I wasn't ever going to play that Exodia piece so that he could get
it back. I kept destroying his monsters so that he couldn't summon Summoned
Skull. The bad thing about Exodia is that once your opponent takes care of
your chances of even getting the instant win then you're pretty much
considered dead. You're dead Reeve! I beat your annoying face into the
ground! Take your Exodia somewhere else. And thus the duel ended.

--Duel #6 Lufia22 vs Trip--
"Duel of the century!"

-Round 1-
lufia: 8000-7000-6000-5000
Trip: 8000-6000-1900-0

-Round 2-
lufia: 8000-7900-3900
Trip: 8000-6600-5600-5300-3600-2600-100-0

Comments: Yes, the same Trip as before. The first went by smoothely. Most of
my damage was dealt by my Dark Elf, if not all of it. I was confident. The
next duel made me worry a bit. Gravity Bind taunted and annoyed my deck for
most of the duel. The funny thing is that he didn't even get by my defense
until right at the end with a big 4000 attack dealt by a Hayabusa with an
Axe of Despair. I let him deal it. I had things up my sleave. The duel went
by standard. I got past his Gravity Bind as much as I could to deal damage.
Only until the end of the duel did it get interested. When he hit me with
that 4000 LP of damage, I got serious. My deck was growing thin. He had
Gravity Bind out. I need to get rid of it fast! I took care of his Hayabusa
with a Fissure, I believe. It needed to die. I couldn't risk another two
attacks by it. I then proceeded to power up my Bazoo by removing three
cards. Of course, you and him were probably thinking the same thing. He
proceeded to say "Why do that? You can't even attack with him." I replied,
"Check this out" and then proceeded to flip Ring of Destruction to deal him
2500 damage (I think I forgot to calculate my LP of damage). I thought I had
won but then realized he had 100 LP left and proceeded to cuss in
disappointment of my excitement. I know people can recover easily. In fact
my brother previously in the tournament was at 700 LP and his opponent at
7000 yet my brother won. Trip had a low hand sized so he set his last,
desperate actions to bring me down. I looked in my grave. I needed to get
another m/t removal to get rid of his Gravity Bind. I had already used my
MST and HFD...I needed Heavy Storm. I only have about 10 cards left. The
chances were ten to one. I drew...Heavy Storm! I used it and summoned
Harpie's Brother for the winning attack. I later looked through the rest of
the cards in my deck. I had three cards I could have beat him with. Cannon
Soldier (to sacrifice himself), Magician of Faith, and Man Eater bug. Those
were the only cards left in my deck besides Heavy Storm that could have
won me the game. Very close.

Tournament Comments:

I won first place again! I had dificult last duels to make my win actually
feel worth it this time. I didn't have a headache and I actually had fun
this time. We had more people there this time than usual and a much more
lively, pleasant bunch to play with. It was an all around enoyable
experience.

What I bought:

-Naruto Graphic Novel
-Metal Gear Solid VR Missions (Only $5!)
-4 Yugioh PGD Packs
-4 Yu Yu Hakusho Packs (one was for my brother)
-Exiled Force ($8)

What next:

My necrovalley deck is 85%-90% complete. The main cards I need to get to
make the deck basically complete (besides a few cards to just compliment it)
is one more Necrovalley, two Terraforms, and two Gravekeeper's Spear
Soldier, four of those are only commons and I know a kid who has a
Necrovalley up for trade.

Props:

-I won!
-Great tournament and great people
-Very good trades (except one which was a 1st ed. BETD for two super rares,
one of which was Spear Dragon)
-My two best opponents used decks I don't normally see so variety equals
good
-I got to be a judge again

Slops:

-I wish my brother had just gotten one rank up so that he would have gotten
3rd or 4th...I bought him another YYH pack to compensate for that
-Too many newbies
