The Seraphim’s Descent Gerry Domingo Northview Heights Secondary School North York, Toronto, Ontario October 1,2003 Hey, everyone…this is Supreme_Seraphim, on with the latest tourney report I have so far. Anyways, here’s the deal. I held this tournament at my high school, Northview Heights Secondary School. I hold many kinds of tournaments: battle City, Duelist Kingdom, UpperDeck/Konami Rules, etc. I bend the rules and have different types of Tournaments to ensure that my fellow duelists don’t get bored of the same Duel format. This time, my tournament was a DeckMaster Tournament. Let me explain. A Deckmaster is a specific monster card in your deck that a duelist chooses. This monster is then removed from the duelists deck during the whole tournament. In turn, all the monsters in the duelists deck acquire the removed monster’s effect. Ex. If I chose Man Eater Bug as my DeckMaster, I take out all copies of Man Eater Bug from my deck. In turn, all my monsters acquire the Man Eater Bug’s Flip Effect. So if I flip my facedown Magician of Faith face-up, I get both the Magician’s and the Bug’s effect. Sounds kinda broken, but it’s a great variation from the traditional Duel. And we also forbade the use of all restricted and semi restricted monsters from being designated as DeckMasters, as well as all monsters that can attack LP directly. Anyways, here’s my deck: Seraphim Descent Deckmaster: The White Magical Hat Mons: Mystical Knight of Jackal (Lock down) Soul of Purity and Light x2 Hysteric Fairy x3 Thunder Nyan Nyan x3 Shining Angel x3 Servant of Catabolism x2 (I can use direct Lp attackers, only not designate them as DeckMaster.) Yata Garasu Spirit Reaper Witch of the Black Forest Cyber Jar Magic: Pot of Greed Graceful Charity Mirage of Nightmare Mystical Space Typhoon x3 Raigeki Dark Hole Confiscation Monster Reborn Premature Burial Scapegoat Harpy’s Feather Duster Change of Heart Nobleman of Crossout Heavy Storm Traps: Imperial Order Drop-Off Waboku x2 Torrential Tribute Disturbance Strategy 7 Tools of the Bandit Total: 41 There were supposed to be 15 participants, but only 10 showed up. Entry fee was $3 canadian if u wanted the Super rare prize (heavy Storm) and $6 if you wanted the Ultra rare prize (Dark Ruler Ha Des) Anyways, on with the Tournament! Pairings: Mosha (Dream Clown) vs. Nathan (Nimble Momongas) This was the first time we ever saw Mosha’s true deck. Everyday he always brings a deck full of damaged and sucky cards. Today, his deck was packed with a Bazoo, Gemini Elf, Jinzo, Cylinders, Goblin Attack Force, Call of the Haunted, etc. Anyways, Nathan was shocked, and he got deranged and lost focus. He lost to Mosha. Winner: Mosha Liat (Twin Headed Wolf) vs. Eliazer (Hayabusa Knight) Liat first chose Spirit Reaper as her Deckmaster, but I didn’t allow it, coz of S.R.’s indestructibility. So she chose Twin Headed Wolf. Why not Ha Des? Well, if ur a smart reader u’ll figure out why. Anyways, Liat was no match to Eliazer’s monsters, which can all attack twice because of Hayabusa Knight’s ability. Winner: Eliazer Gerry(me: White magical hat) vs. Shen (Shadow Ghoul) Shen was a new duelist in Northview, but I have to admit he deserves respect, as he can really kicks ass. Anyways, he brought me down to 2000 by activating Dice jar’s effect and getting a 6. On top of that, he had an unequipped Dark Elf at 3200 ATK. But I stood my ground, pulled my Raigeki, and managed to win both duels with my Yata Garasu. Winner: Gerry Michael (Legendary Fisherman) vs. Dana (Patrician of Darkness) I dunno why the heck Dana chose the Patrician of Darkness. In my opinion, this key mistake caused his defeat; Michael kicked his a$$ badly. Sorry Dana, better luck next time. Winner: Michael Now, on to the semi finals!!!! Pairings: Mosha (Dream Clown) vs. Eliezer ( Hayabusa Knight) Mosha tried to bribe Eliazer to lose, but I found out, so he wasn’t able to. :) Anyways, Eliezar knew how to play his cards right, and managed to clear out Mosha’s hand with the troublesome trio (Confiscation, Delinquent and Forceful) and summoned White Magical hat. I’m impressed Eliezer’s deck managed well even without Raigeki and many staples. Mosha panicked after losing the 1st round, lost his focus, and lost. (He was begging for mercy on the 3rd round) Winner: Eliezer Michael (Legendary Fisherman) vs. Gerry (The White Magical hat) I thought I had this match in the bag. 1st round, I yata-Locked him. 2nd round I forfeited coz’ I couldn’t draw any monsters. I’m not very good with the details, but I know Cyber Jar screwed me up, as he was able to summon Spear Dragon, Gemini, and a Dark Elf, all thanks to my Cyber Jar on the 3rd round. Winner: Michael. Finals! Michael (Legendary Fisherman) vs. Eliezer (Hayabusa Knight) Everyone was expecting Michael to really lose this one…I dunno why, but people expected Eliezer to win. And win he did. Michael managed to stall with Tornado wall+Legendary Ocean, but Eliezer’s Mystical Space Typhoon took care of that. Too bad Michael didn’t pay for Imperial a few turns ago. Another stupid mistake Michael did was equipping a United We Stand on one of his monsters. But since Legendary Ocean was out , and his DeckMaster was The Legendary Fisherman, the United We stand lay meaninglessly on the field. Seeing as Michael screwed up a lot of times, Eliezer strikes with his 7 Colour fish and 3 more monsters (his DeckMaster was Hayabusa Knight; all his mons can attack twice), and that was game for both rounds. Tournament Winner: Eliezer Now to Props and Slops: PROPS: To Pojo, for being better than Yu-Gi-Oh Dungeon To me, for trading Obelisk the Tormentor for yata-Garasu, Drop-Off, Spear Dragon, Exiled Force and Messenger of Peace, and trading Dark Ruler HaDes for Fiber jar and Spirit Reaper. To Mosha, for impressing everyone with his rare cards and showing that he doesn’t suck that much. To Eliezer, for wining the tournament To Shen, for being one of the new duelists in Northview and still kicking ass. SLOPS: To Maor for dropping out (I expected to see you in the finals!) To Michael, for being rich and being able to buy boxes all the time. To Dana, Shen, Nathan, and Liat for not paying on the Tourney date, when I let them know 1 week in advance.L To Nathan, for freaking out when Mosha beat him To me, for not beating Michael Rants?
