Chaos Control and Cruise Control Nick Cale (14) and Conon Gillis (14) Central Missouri Sportscards Rolla Missouri 9-23-03 # of participants: around 30 (note: this was a tag team tournament, so there are about 15 teams) Hey everyone. This is a double tournament report (meaning, by two people). It was actually at our community center since Sportscards is a VERY small store. This will be a pretty long report. We also started out with 12,000 life points that we shared. Here is our report. Also, Conon's Delinquent Duo was a Nobleman of Crossout during the tournament. We had 4 matches and the details were a little hazy. What really sucked was that the matches were only one deul and that was it; you either won or lost. Even though this is only hours after the tournament, which started at 4:30, we still don't remember much of the details. Okay. Here goes. Match 1 Nick and Conon vs. Erica ___ (about 19) and ___ Mezenah (about 14) Our life points: (10,000) There's: (0) I (Nick) went first. My opening hand was pretty good. Something like Delinquent Duo, Mystic Tomato, Drop Off, Mirror Force, and some others. I set Tomato and the two traps mentioned. I played DD on Mezenah then ended. He set some cards and Conon went. He played Confiscation on Erica. They stocked up on monsters in a few turns but got caught by Mirror Force. We attacked them directly for some heavy damage. Later, we kept clearing their field with Exiled Forces, Raigekies, and a Dark Hole. We eventually got them down to 0. Match 2 Nick and Conon vs. Cary Lewis (40) and Zachary ___ (about 12) Our lifepoints: (8700) There's: (0) Cary was replace by Erica from the last match because she had to run some other stuff. Cary is also the lady who organizes these tournaments. The duel started with me getting almost the exact hand except for 2 Mystic Tomato, Confiscation instead of DD, and no Drop Off. I started off with Confiscation on Zach. I then set Tomato and Mirror Force. Zach went and played Opticlops. Conon had a good hand of Magic Cylinder, Mirror Force, Forceful Sentry, Sangan, and Gemini Elf. He set Cylinder and Sangan. Erica set two M/T and a monster. As the deul went on, Erica playe an Ordeal of Traveler and kept us from doing as much damage as we wanted. She had a Kuriboh in her hand when we were guessing and on the last attack, she discarded it. They got a few hits in on my Tomatoes, but that was about it. Match 3 Nick and Conon vs. Hillary (about 13) and Anthony? (about 38) Our lifepoints: (5600) There's: (0) Conon went first. All that he really did was lay a trap and summon Gemini Elf. Hillary set a M/T and a Hane-Hane. My turn, I play Swords and Hillary returned Gemini. I then set another Tomato (out of the two in my hand) and layed Ceasfire. We built up our forces of effect monsters until Swords wore off. I then flipped Ceasfire, doing about 1500. Conon then played Swords on his turn. When Anthony went, he played swords. It was Conon's turn. He summoned something and I played Imperial Order. They had a face down M/T but it didn't do anything. We wittled them down to mere points while Imperial Order was out, then finished them off. Match 4 THE FINALS! Nick and Conon vs. Forrest Geuterman (14) and Jason ___ (about 19) Our lifepoints: (200) There's: (0) [actually -100] Me and Conon's first hands SUCKED! We had about 1 monster each with about 4-5 magics and about 1-2 traps. We set the traps, payed for Confiscation, played Forceful Sentry, then ended both of our turns. Jason and Forrest (which happens to be one of our friends from school) each played their monsters, like we did, and set M/T. To shorten this up, they BEAT US DOWN TO A MERE 600 LIFEPOINTS! They had 7300 still. We were like, come on miracle. The miracle came in a series of Fiber Jar flipping (4 times to be exact) and a lot of direct damage (duh!). After the Jars were flipped, conon would attack directly, then forrest would attack my fiber jar (3 times). They were down to 3600 and we were still at 600. Conon had monster reborned Jason's Goblin Attack Force, which Jason Snatch Stealed (or stole, whatever!) back. Jason forgot that he couldn't attack with it since it wasn't a turn after conon attacked forrest's monster. It was then Conon's turn and we got a gift from Jason...1000 lifepoints, which eventually let us win. Conon played Change of Heart on GAF and swapped it into attack mode, since it had been a turn now, and attacked their lifepoints. Before he used CoH, he layed Ring of Destruction. Conon ended his turn with them having 1300 lifepoints and we had 1600. I had a face up Mystic Tomato, which I attacked with about 2 turns ago. Conon said it was Forrest's turn, and flipped Ring, giving us the miraculous win since he used it on Mystic Tomato. Forrest was mad because I threw the Goblin Attack Force in the graveyard when it was their turn, thinking we used Ring on it, when we in fact used it on my Mystic Tomato. Forrest just couldn't admit that we won and he lost. We were pretty happy because that was one of the biggest turn-arounds we have ever had. After the tournament was over, me and Conon got 2 PGD packs each (because they didn't have tourny packs there) that we picked. Conon got jack squat and I got a Sasuke Samurai. Since forrest plays baseball, and we play soccer (on the junior varsity team), we were saying stuff like "soccer players rule" and "since you were a baseball player, you lost" (we are not saying that to all of the baseball players, so please, no hate mail. We just do that to forrest). That is about it.
