I came to the tournament with my best friend, Ryan, and my brother, Nick. We had a little time before the tourney, so we got some trading in. I got a Lava Golem for my deck, Nick got a 3rd Necrovalley for his Gravekeeper Deck, and Ryan got a 3rd Toon World for his Pegasus deck.

1st Duel- John(ME!!) vs. Tyler (Destiny Board and Machine Deck, has a twin, Tony)

 

He got out Destiny Board early in the duel and got Spirit Message I. I played De-spell and killed the 2 pieces. He played Summoned Skull and passed. On my turn I summoned Cure Mermaid and placed Gravity Bind face down. He summoned GAF and attacked my Cure Mermaid. I activated Gravity Bind and and he had to end. I offered his SS and GAF for my Lava Golem and it gradually took him down to 4000, while I gained 800 from Mermaid . I played Ookazi, put Dice jar and BBtD down. He passed and I flipped Dice Jar. We both rolled a 2. We rolled again, and he got a 6, and I got 2... Oops! I flipped Barrel for the win.

 

2nd  Duel- John vs. Zach (My friend's friend with a burner like mine)

 

This was close! He played Fire Princess with Simochi and played 2 Dian Keto, Rain of Mercy, and Goblin's Secret Remedy. I felt much pain. I wound up winning with Ookazi's and Hinotama's.

 

3rd Duel- John vs. Tony (Tyler's brother)

 

I don't remember this duel very much. I just remember offering his Harpie's Bro and 7-colored fish(I think thats what they were) for Lava Golem. He said the EXACT same thing as Tyler (How can you do that [offering his mons]?!). He offered Lava for Summoned Skull and got out a couple other big mons like Buster Blader. He attacked my Cannon Soldier in defense mode and then attacked directly. On my turn, I put Fiber Jar (which could've been out last turn, but he didn't let me take back my turn). He attacked and his brother said "Attack and you win!" before the jar was flipped. I almost forgot it was Fiber Jar. I flipped it and he hadn't summoned that turn, so he sent out an 1800 ATK mon. I used cards like Ookazi and won :-)

 

4th Duel- John vs. Terry (another copied burner deck :P)

 

I don't remember anything from this duel (Sorry Terry :D). I just know that a lot of my good cards were destroyed and I won!

 

5th Duel- John vs. Dale (an older guy with a LOT of rare cards)

 

In the beginning, I played Feather Duster on his Cylinders and Raigeki on his mons. Then I played DSS, Chain Energy, and burnt him a little with magic and attacked Cure Mermaid. He MST'd my Chain Energy I thought I was going to lose, but I wound up winning this one, too.

 

Right here, I was guaranteed a spot in the Finals. The Semifinals was Jeremiah (Nick's and my friend) vs. Nick. I watched this one. My brother sent out Gravekeepers like mad and Jeremiah Gave up because he didn't "want to be beaten by stupid Gravekeepers"

 

6th Duel- John vs. Nick

 

I played Chain Energy too quickly and wound up getting down to 4000 when Nick was at about 3500. Ookazi's and Hinotama's proved useful. Near the end, I got down to 2500 and he was down to 500. I played Fiber Jar face down for 500 LPs and ended. He passed and, on my turn, I flipped the Jar. I drew and played Harpie's Feather Duster, Gravity Bind, Raigeki, and Hinotama face down and played Ookazi for the kill. People around us started saying "Nick won! John played too many cards!". They didn't realize their mistake, but I won.

 

Nick and I agreed before the duel that we would both get one pack of each. We got our Gift Certificates and I got my hat. I opened my LOB pack first, and got a Dark Magician. In my LON pack I got Nuvia the Wicked. Nick got Infinite Cards and Darkfire Dragon. I traded my Dark Magician for one of the twin's Creature Swaps (good for Amoeba and Griggle in my deck :D ) and Nick traded both of his packs for my hat. We had to go back to my house because it was getting late.
