Okay, that the deck.  Yeah, it’s really big but it gets the job done.  It run more magic and traps than most people and that’s usually what gives me an edge in most duels.  This is the finals of a season that has been going on for the last few months.  The top 16 players had to come back for this thing, and from the looks of things, the tournament was going to be fierce.  Fortunately Legacy of Darkness released not to long ago and I was able to score some good cards.  Well, onto the report.

Chaos vs Travis(Dragon Deck) Single Elimination

Duel 1: This duel got started by him playing Cave Dragon in attack mode, and two m/t’s face down.  I set my Sorcerer and end my turn.  Before drawing he reveals one face down m/t, DNA Surgery, and lets me know it’s Dragons.  He then plays Harpie’s Brother, and Mountain.  He uses Brother to attack my face down card, and nails me for 2200lp w/ Cave Dragon.  I drew and received Graceful Charity.  Used it and got Monster Reborn, Blue-Eyes, and Magician of Faith.  Discarded Blue-Eyes and Opticlops.  Used Monster Reborn to summon Blue Eyes and attacked his Harpie’s Bro.  Next turn he doesn’t get anything, but switches Cave Dragon to defense mode.  My go and I draw Pot of Greed, which gets used.  No lie, I draw Gemini Elf and United We Stand.  I played Raigeki from my hand and took away his only line of defense.  I equipped Blue-Eyes with United We Stand and plopped down the elf twins.  Blue-Eyes was up to 4600 atk points so it was game.

Me:8000-5800

Travis:8000-7200-6000-0

2nd round Chaos vs. Sandra(Earth Deck) Standard Match Style 2 of 3

Duel#1: Cake walk.  On my first turn I had everything I needed to kill her.  She had one monster face down on the field and nothing else.  I held Raigeki, Gemini Elf, Mage Power, United We Stand and my Axe.(Talk about lucky draws.  BTW she did cut my deck4X) on my next draw I scored a trap card(it’s not important which one, just fuel for Mage Power.)  I played Raigeki and well I nailed her something fierce.  After that attack she handed me duel one.

Duel#2: This was a little bit harder.  She went first and played Gearfried and Gaia Power. I couldn’t do anything so I took 2300lp.  Next turn I get Man-Eater Bug out and wait.  Sandra knows better than to attack and uses Nobleman of Crossout.  Bang another 2300lp hit.  Now I’m sick of this and draw.  Graceful Charity!  I use it and grab my ever faithful Blue-Eyes, which I discard and bring back with Monster Reborn.  I attack and do just 700lp.  Fine whatever.  After this she reveals the two cards she had face down.  A pair of Ultimate Offerings.  She starts lying cards down, two at a time, not allowing me any damage.  Ultimately she summons both Gaia the Fierce Knight and Sword Hunter!  Too bad by this time I had B.Trap Hole on the Field and killed her Sword Hunter.  Gaia gets a power up and attacks, right into Mirror Force.  After that she is almost defenseless but was able to Monster Reborn Sword Hunter.  Too bad I hit him with Mask of the Accursed.  She had no magic removal anywhere and watched her life get chipped away by my evil mask.  Game, set, duel.

3rd round Chaos vs. Bruce(Toon/Relinquished Deck) Best 3 of 5

Duel#1:The first duel was totally one sided in my favor.  He went first and set one m/t and ended his turn.  I play MST and destroy his Bottomless Trap Hole, then summon Hysteric Fairy, and hit him directly for 1800.  He Fissure’s my Fairy and sets one monster face down.  I counter with SoRL, see MoF, and summon Gemini Elf.  He summons his own Gemini but does not suicide.  Big mistake as I play my Mask and watch as his life dwindles down to nothin’.  Finally show him a little mercy and jack up Gemini with United We Stand and Gearfried for the win.

Duel#2:He goes first and plays one m/t face down.  Throwing caution to the wind I play Sorcerer and attack, right into Mirror Force.  I’ve got an open field so what does he do?  Gemini Elf plus an Axe and nails me for 2900.  On my next turn I flip Solemn wishes and play Pot of Greed. (Now remember greed is good.)  Finally nail Raigeki and watch his Lp drop as mine does nothing but climb.  Can’t remember all of this duel, but I do know that he got sandbagged something fierce.

Duel#3:Frustration had set in on Bruce by now.  He got so far in this tournament, spent so much money on his cards,(pretty much all of them were holo), and he’s getting his head handed to him by some young punk(BTW I’m 24).  This duel was nerve racking, heart wrenching, and just plain scary.  Here’s why.  He goes first yet again and plays one monster face down, and Red Medicine.  I summon my ever faithful Opticlops and attack, Spirit of the Harp, taking 200Lp.  Nothing happens for a few turns, but I do manage to get Penguin Soldier on the field.  He’s got three monsters, two Harpie’s and a LaJinn, to my face down Soldier.  On my next turn I get Monster Reborn and bring back Opticlops, flip Penguin, return both Brothers and OttD his LaJinn.  This is a clear shot for me so I summon the famed(or is that feared?) Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and bam! -3000lp easy.  Next turn he summons Relinquished(crap) and takes Blue-Eyes from me, but  fears my face down card.  Instead he plays Soul Release and removes SoRL, Monster Reborn and two other cards.  I counter with the evil mask, which lasts almost six turns, before he uses Giant Trunade.  He then plays Toon World and summons Toon S.Skull.  On my next turn I use the mask on Toon Skull(Smart huh?)  He counters with a second Soul Release, which ups the amount of damage I take from Grave something or another’s Retribution, from 400 to 900.  Now to make a long story short.  He’s taking 500lp from my mask while I’m taking 900lp from his trap.  It was my turn and I held Barrel Dragon, plus had the two cards on the field needed to summon the beast.  Knowing that allowing Bruce’s turn to come around would result in a draw I let Destiny intervene.  (He had only 500lp while I was down to 900lp) I nailed B. Dragon’s effect and attacked for the win.  Thanks Destiny.  Bruce said that there were no hard feelings and thanked me for such a hard fought duel.  After talking with him for a little while they announced who my opponent would be in the finals.  The news wasn’t good.  It was my best friend Ryan, the guy who got me started playing this game.  I’ve never beaten RJ in a duel before and was praying that today would be different.  I sat down across from RJ, and checked his eyes.  They were dark and cold.  He was already in the zone for this best of 7 match.  I had only one thing to say which was “This should be interesting.)

Final Round Chris(Chaos) vs Ryan(Dragon God)

Duels1-4: There’s nothing here to report.  Ryan beat me each time with a different Dragon.  First was Black Skull, second was Thousand, third was a combo of the previous two, and the final Dragon was Tri-Horn.  I think that out of all four rounds I did a total of about 700lp to him.  Ouch that really hurts.  Oh well on to the next season.  Second place prize was kind of sweet.  It was a copy of Die Another Day on DVD.  Pretty good but I would have rather gotten first place and received three booster boxes of my choice.  RJ chose LoN, LoD, and PS.  He pulled two Fiber Jars and wouldn’t even give/trade me one.  Oh well, that’s what the net’s for.

Okay so that’s the report.  Now onto misc junk.  The deck’s changed a little bit but I haven’t had a chance to see how it works in a duel.  I added Blast With Chain, just for its second effect.  Also added Spear Dragon and get this Dark Ruler Ha Des!  Ditched Sangan and side decked Solemn Wishes.  One more thing.  To the dude (or dudes, or ladies) who swiped my Hayabusa Knights, I will find you.  Stealing is not cool at all.  Well that be it.  Want to tell me my deck sucks, rocks, needs help?  E-mail me at tlc4ever@hotmail.com.  I don’t get to check email until Thursday, and make sure that it’s marked something about Yu-Gi-Oh! Or I will delete without a second thought.  Finally, if there are any duelists in the Kennett Square, Unionville, West Grove, West Chester area that are 18+yrs old, let me know.  Kind of sick of traveling all the way to Allentown just to play against people my own age.  That’s it see ya.
