Buster Blader. Jordon is 8 and just won his first tournament. His previous best finish was third. The tourney had five rounds. Best 2 out of 3 each round. Entry: Buy a pack. 1rst prize two packs 2nd prize one pack. Here is how it went. First Round Jordon vs. Jeremy Jordon describes Jeremy as his rival. There both around the same age and face each other in the tournament almost every week. Jeremy runs a Destiny Board/Masked Beast/Beatdown deck. Jordon actually beat him pretty easy this week. 2 games to zero Second Round Jordon vs. Dave Dave is the top ranked duelist at the store and Jordon really looks up to him. Dave is around 18. He runs a pretty straight beatdown with all the trimmings. First game Jordon goes second. Draws Change of heart, Jinzo, Heavy storm, Delinquent Duo, Yata, and a dark hole. Dave sets 3 M/T and a face down monster. Jordon's turn. Heavy storms the M/T. Dave plays Magic Drain. Jordon discards his dark hole. Delinquent Duo, COH on set monster, Sacs it for Jinzo, attacks. Next turn gets Jinzo out with Yata. It is all down hill from there. Second duel. Dave gets his Jinzo out with a Gemini with a UWS and it's all over but the crying for Jordon. Rubber match: Dave draws and declares he got a bad hand. Not exact words. Jordon draws a Summoned Skull, Graceful Charity, Premature Burial, Axe of Despair The Don, and GAF. Draws 3 discards the Summoned Skull, brings it back with premature, Axes the Don, sets a Mirror Force he got with Graceful ends his turn. Dave Snatches the SS and runs his Gemini with Mage power into the Mirror force. A pot of Greed, Monster Reborn on SS, GAF, along with the axed Don and Dave is almost done. Dave plays dark hole attacks with a Gemini for 1900. Jordon Draws a Torrential Tribute. Sets it and sets his sangan. Dave's turn. Plays a Kycoo, Jordon activates TT, goes and gets his Yata from his sangan and attacks with a clear field for the lock on his next turn. Third Round Jordon vs. a guy not happy to loose to an 8 year old The guy was a pretty poor sport. By this time the word had spread that an 8 year old had taken down Dave. So, there were a few people watching. Jordon was pretty excited. I told Jordon to stay calm and just take his time and concentrate. The guy then threatens to disqualify him because I was giving him advice during the duel. Anyways, Jordon wins 2 games to 0. Fourth Round Jordon vs. The Dark Fiend Mike Mike runs a beefy fiend deck. Mike loves the word beefy. Mike is a great sport. First duel Jordon gets Jinzo out early along with a couple of Spear Dragons and wins. Second duel Mike gets out Dark Ruler and a couple fiend buddies and jordon can't stop it. Duel 3 Jordon gets out both Kycoos one powered up with an Axe. The other with UWS. Mike can't remove any fiends for Necrofear and Jordon slowly beats him down. On to the finals!!! Finals Jordon vs. Frank Frank runs a semi burn/ destiny board/ nightmare wheel deck. Kinda weird but effective. First duel is a good one. Jordon goes first. Draws a couple Spears a GAF, Penguin Soldier, Mirror force, and Magic Cylinder. Jordon sets the Mirror Force and Cylinder but does play a monster. He was trying to bait Frank. Hey! It's your world kid. Frank doesn't bite. He sets two M/T and a monster and ends his turn. Jordon axes one of his Spears and frank puts a nightmare wheel on it. Frank sets another monster. Jordon plays another Spear and attacks a set Giant Germ. Frank gets his other Giant Germs and attacks with one on his next turn and gets cylindered and then sets another monster. Jordon plays another spear and attacks both giant germs. Frank MST on Jordon's Mirror Force and attacks and takes out two Spears. Jordon plays Injection Fairy and attacks a La Jinn and pays the 2000. Franks sets his sangan on his next turn. Jordon draws Jinzo and sacs the Spear Dragon equipped with franks Nightmare wheel. Jordon attacks with Jinzo to the face down sangan. Frank goes and gets his Kuriboh. Jordon attacks with IFL and pays the 2000 and frank uses his Kuriboh. The score gets down to Jordon 2100 and Frank 2500. Frank sets a monster on his next turn. Jordon makes a mistake on his next turn and sets his sangan. He then attacks the face down card with IFL and has to pay the 2000. Then attacks with Jinzo. They're now both down to 100 life points. Frank has no monsters on the field. Frank plays another Lajinn and attacks the IFL. Jordon pays the 2000 and it is a draw. Jordon takes the next two duels pretty easily. A Yata lock in one and got Guardian Sphinx out early in the next and wins the tournament!! Props: To Dave and the Dark Fiend Mike for always being cool to my son. For Jordon telling them he just got lucky. To the Dark fiend Mike for teaching my son the word BEEFY. To Jordon for winning his first tourney and shaking everyone's hand. For pulling a Magic Cylinder out of one of the packs he won. Slops: To guys who don't know how to loose to an 8 year old. For Jordon using the word BEEFY a million times since.
