Ok everyone let me start off by saying HAPPY EASTER, and enjoy your four-day-weekend!!

Ok, onto the deck.

My deck is called The Pheared Wennies.  Its your standard lockdown deck, but with a few twists.  Its strategy:  make sure your opponent cant attack, and then hit him hard with the little dudes like rainbow flower.

Monsters:         0 – tributes

                        2 – normal monsters

            *Giant Soldier of Stone

            *Dragon Zombie

                        21- effect monsters

*Rainbow flower (people are really embarrassed to lose to this guy)

*Cannon Soldier (last resort damage/change of heart combo)

*White Magical Hat x2 (when the lockdown is in place, these guys can really disable an opponents options)

*Dream Clown x2 (the effect contributes to the lockdown a lot)

*Penguin Soldier (clears field for hats/monsters w/ robin goblin)

*Crass Clown x2 (because I can only find 2 dream clowns, I have to put these 2 in here)

*Queen’s Double (attack LP when lockdown is in place.  Best used w/ mask of brutality)

*Witch of the Black Forest (obviously can get out almost any monster I have)

*Cyber Jar (when i'm falling behind)

*Hiro’s Shadow Scout (magic is my biggest threat to the lock, not monsters.  So I have to get rid of the magic, and fill my opponents hand w/ useless monster cards.)

            *sangan (same as witch)

*Mystic lamp (same as Queen’s Double)

*Maryokutai (offer as a tribute to negate a magic card.  Plus he is level 3)

*4-Starred Ladybug of Doom (bye bye beat down level 4’s)

            *Wall of illusion (STALL!!)

            *Ooguchi (same as Queen’s Double)

*Hayabusa Knight (when given equip cards, this guy is my most deadly weapon)

            *Magician of Faith (reuse magic…duh)

Magic 13

            *Change of heart (staple_

*Stim pack x3 (power up those weenies so they can clear the field for WMH and HK)

*Mask of Brutality (whoever once said “poor man’s axe”, was dead on)

*Insect Barrier (you just know what’s going to happen with this little fellow)

*Prohibition (no more heavy storms and MST for you…thanks someguy, great idea)

            *Dark hole (staple)

            *Malevolent Nuzzler (see stim pack)

*Offerings to the doomed (underrated, it can really save your butt)

            *Monster reborn (staple)

            *The dark door (stall/lockdown necessity)

            *Pot of greed (staple)

Trap cards 7

*Magic Jammer x2 (like I said, magic is my worst enemy)

*Gravity bind x2 (looking for 3rd, ideal for lock)

*DNA surgery (that’s right folks, that’s what Insect Barrier was for)

*Magic Drain (allow me to repeat myself, I am afraid of magic)

*Robin goblin (when field is cleared, I can move in and discard your hand at the same time)

Before the tourney, my bro and me walked around the store and traded/dueled other people.  I got some nice cards I needed for my deck such as cyber jar, prohibition, penguin soldier, Hayabasu Knight and White magical hat.  All I had to give up was Premature Burial, Seven tools of the Bandit and Scapegoat.

1st duel

The Pheard vs.??? (Beat down)

This guy had a standard beat down.  Nothing to brag about, but a few rare cards here and there.

1st duel – I got my game going really fast with a malevolent nuzzler, White magical hat, gravity bind, prohibition and penguin soldier.  I drew pot of greed and then drew the dark door and offerings to the doomed.  He went first, and using graceful charities discarding to his advantage, he got out the summoned skull on his first turn.  I was unworried, I simply played my gravity bind and penguin soldier face down, then played prohib and declared “heavy storm” He draws, summons a 7 colored fish, and attacks.  I send the two cards back to his hand and draw hayabusa knight.  I summon the knight and attack twice.  He summons and tries to attack but I slap down gravity bind.  The rest of the duel consisted of me whacking slowly at his LP using gravity bind and my DNA/insect combo.  1-0 me.

2nd duel – over in 3 turns.  I draw enough to simply destroy his hand and have my mons attack him directly for the kill.

2ND ROUND!

The Pheared vs.??? (Equipped beat down)

This guy relied a lot on equipping his mons with many cards and crushing the opposition.

1st duel – let me just say that my starting hand consisted of White magical Hat, Mask of Brutality, Robin Goblin, and Pot of Greed.  I drew Hayabusa Knight.  Pot earned me stim pack and nuzzler.  I played WMH first w/ mask to destroy his 7-coloured fishy.  He sets in defense and I summon my Hayabusa Knight and equip with nuzzler and 2 stim packs (drew another this turn) and activated robin goblin.  This is a total of 4 cards destroyed from hand when my WMH and my HK hurt his LP.  So I basically locked him into submission.

2nd duel – He got out his magic cards before I could get prohib or magic drain/jammer.  He easily overwhelmed me with a 7-coloured fish using mage power and 2 nuzzlers.  It wasn’t long before I was crushed.

3rd duel – happened pretty much the same as the 2nd, with him getting out his strong and powered up mons.  However, I had an advantage.  I got dark door and cyber jar with a pot of greed, meaning I could turn this around.  He ended up with 1 mon and a bunch of power ups.  I got 2 WMH, 1 mask of brutality, 1 Hayabusa knight, and monster reborn.  I used monster reborn to take back his blue eyes, then I proceeded to pound him with my powered up Knight.  So now i’m 2 for 2.

3rd round – quarterfinals

The Pheared vs. Mike (awesome submission deck)

Mike has some of the rarest cards I have ever seen.  He has em all.  Today he placed 2nd in the tourney.

1st duel – I was rushed with an army of Gemini elves and bazoos after one very effective cyber jar effect by him.  All I seemed to get was magic cards, and I never got any lock cards.  I was finished very fast.

2nd duel – this was a little better.  I hit him hard and fast using my White Magical Hat and Stim packs.  I managed to set up the lock, but never got prohibition.  It wasn’t long before heavy storm came out and all my attack-position weenies were flattened.

I was done.  I pulled crap in my tourney pack.  One guy got needle worm and the guy who he faced wished he had lost, so he could have gotten that pack, but that’s life.

Time for props and slops:

Props
