Blake's Random Deck Tournament Report

Name:Blake E

Place: Sci-Fi World, Toronto

Date: May 3rd, 2003

This was a single eliminatin duel, and I think the winner of each division wins two boosters plus the tournament pack three pack, which you also  gets as consolation. In the first round, everybody would play. The winners of this match would go into the A division and the losers into B.

Match 1: Blake vs Perfect Beatdown (forget name)

Duel one: This guy was really good. He had every card you can possibly need to run a great beatdown. This is another guy that I can't possibly beat. Well, in the first duel we were just exchanging blows for a while. Me with a couple La Jinns and Haybusa Knights... and him with Geminis, Kycoos and Bazoos with Axes and United we Stands. Well, later in the duel he used Harpie's Feather Duster and took out my Gravity Bind and Light of Intervention (I was holding him off for a long time) and knocked me out with a Snatch Steal and other staples.

Duel two: This was all him. He used Heavy Storm (I think) and took out my Mirror Force, Seven Tools and Jammer to start off the whooping and attacked my LP with Goblin Attack Force (I need one). That brought me done quite a bit, and I took out a few of his monsters with Dream Clown. In the end, a 5000 Haybusa out it away.

Since I lost my first match, I entered the B division.

Match Two: Blake vs Noah (pretty good BeatDown)

He said he had already won the B division

Duel one: Early in the duel I flipped a Gravity Bind and held him off for the entire duel. He was attacking me with Time Wizard and Mask of Darkness, slowly bringing my lifepoints down. I don't remember how but he had a monster on the field for a while that was giving him lifepoints. I was low on LP and he had a lot, so we were both running out of cards. We both knew that we were running low on cards, but he had a lot less. The only chance he had was to flip his Morphing Jar #2. He did, and it took him a while to finnally get a monster. It took me a while too... but I had a lot of cards in my deck and he forfeited.

Duel Two: This was very different duel. I beat him down easily with all of my cards, using all of my strategies. I knocked him down to 2300 quick. Than I attcked away but the guy said it couldn't be game. Well I told him if I attacked with all then launched with Cannon Soldier he would lose anyway. SO I WON!!!

Match Three: Blake vs Drew (stall+burn) This was against Drew, my best friend who I have duel way too many times. We had both recently changed our decks, so it would be interesting.

Duel One: This was a long duel. We both had a semi-stall, using our gravity binds and stuff. He had a few more drawing cards, which brought is total cards down. He also had a Sangan and Witch. We both were running low until I finally said END! Giving him the thumbs down sign like Yugi and his SORL. He couldn’t draw… I WIN.

Duel Two: HIS BURNER KICKED IN. Right off the bat I was down to about 5500. I wasn’t drawing any of my non-beatdown cards and he was holding me off with Gravity Bind. I burned me out. He won.

Duel Three: I don’t remember how this went. I know I won with Dark Necrofear and Barrel Dragon. OTO THE SEMI-FINALS.

Match Four (semi-finals): Blake vs Gravity Relinquished Deck

This guys deck was a lot like mine. Just from the few cards I saw from the first duel I knew that his deck was a little like mine, which makes it hard for me to beat.

Duel One: The beginning he had a whole bunch of traps, gravity bind and light of intervention. He also had a Jinzo #7 to attack my LP for 500 each turn. I tried do anything and but he would counter it so 500 after 500 and on and on. I quickly dumped Marie the Fallen One into my graveyard, so I started gaining 200. Well, we forgot to do it so it didn’t work. I finally killed his Jinzo#7 and took out my LP with Relinquished and a Man-Eater Bug.

Duel Two: A lot of the same except more Relinquished. He beat me. No fun.

In the end, I did a lot better. If I had won I would have won 2 packs I think. But O well, I had good trades and had fun. Time for Props and Slops:
