Before I describe my matches, I want to Thank My
Friend, Shizuka, for the inspiration and god, to be truthful I am not an overly
religious person, but I pray for his help any ways.
My Deck, a few months ago was based on classis weenie
rush. And as I started to see the flaws in my deck, I put it into my personal
deck garage and tweaked it for the next tournament. And over 2 months of
tweaking it has paid off. As you notice, it is less of a weenie rush deck, but
more of an overall deck. And with the changes to the deck, so are changes on how
I use it. I have found that most of the time, you can figure out what kind of a
deck your opponent is playing around 5-7 turns after the game has started. And
pending on how he/she plays, you can manipulate my deck to attempt to counter
that. The only decks that give me many problems are Pure Exodia based decks and
Burn Decks.
During the last month, I have recorded all my duels and
have found that there are only 5 active players that are on par with me they are
Zac .E- has an Exodia Deck and a stall deck, configured
to be able to switch decks between matches via side deck. (Equal amounts of wins
and losses on both sides)
Chris .W – Overall big deck, the only way he usually
gets me is that he has loads of money and can buy any card he wants, thus his
whole deck is made out of Rares, Super Rares, Ultra Rares, and Secret Rares. Not
a single common card in his deck (I have lost more to him then I have won)
Zane .T- Beat Down to the Extreme, has lots of
counters and Monster, Magic and Trap removal, has the ability to ascend my level
of playing, but doesn’t try too. (I have Won more then lost)
John .M– two words describes him and his deck,
Exodia Freak. (Equal amounts of wins and losses on both
sides)
Devian .S- Have played him
several times, can’t exactly tell what kind of deck his is, it might be a Beat
down, counter hybrid (I have won more then lost).
In today’s tournament, I face Devian and Zac, in the
3rd round and in the Simi-finals.
Here is the order of Competitors
1. Chris.P- First Round
2. Eathen.G- Second Round
3. Devian.S- Third Round
4. Zac.E –Simi Finals
5. Jared-Finals
My Deck was made especially to attempt to deal with all situations (mainly Beat Down) by using massive amounts of staples, using Gravity Bind for stalling, Defensive, and Lock Down Purposes. Jinzo, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Heavy Storm are used to escape Gravity Bind, and for the Final Blow.
Against Burn, I use the fusion, the Last Warrior from another planet, Ceasefire, and Jinzo#7 and Mage Power.
Against Sea Decks, I Bring out The Legendry Fisherman, and I attempt to use Jinzo (Via Witch of the Black Forest) Massively (to stop tornado wall).
FINAL Decks are not much of a problem.
Children Decks (Decks with no support from anything, and children that think that you can do anything, for example, Draw a card every time you use one, or attack my life points directly, with no LP Direct monster and I have a few monster on the field already, and have 70 or more cards in it) I don’t waste my time trying to study it and go for the win from the get go.
Against Stall decks, I get support from Jinzo, all my
counters, mage power and The Last Warrior From Another Planet.
Against Counter Decks, there is not much I can do, but
mot many people use that type in my area
Against Weenie Rush Decks, Use my man-eater Bugs and
Barrel Dragon for monster Removal.
Against Exodia Decks, My Deck and side deck was
especially designed to attempt to counter Exodia, With Exchange, Soul Release,
Jinzo, Counter Cards, and use Goblin Attack force as a Finisher.
Valkyrion the Magna Warrior Decks, Monster Removal, snatch steal, relinquished, and gravity bind holds this combined monster.
Monster Type Specific Decks, Monster Removal, snatch steal, relinquished, and gravity bind hold off this type of deck
As you see, my deck has only one weakness, its self.
One wrong move and that’s game belongs to the opponent, so each move must be
done with care and massive thought.
Round 1, Chris.P vs. Me
Chris.P’s Deck Type- Monster Reborn type.
Duel 1
Bad hand, vary bad hand. After only 5 turns, he finished me
Duel 2
I go first, much nicer hand, now I can do some serious damage. I set a Witch of the black forest and a Gravity Bind. He uses Graceful Charity his first turn to discard a Blue Eyes White Dragon, and then he premature buried it. (8000 to 7200) attacks my Witch and I get out a Jinzo #7. Next turn, I draw Pot of Greed, and get Change of Heart and Dark hole. Summon Jinzo #7, lay 3 other Magic And Traps and activate Change of Heart on His Blue Eyes. Afterwards, I equip Mage Power to Jinzo #7 and attacked him directly with both for 6000. (8000 to 1200). His Turn, he forfeits the Duel saying he can’t do anything.
Duel 3
HAND OF THE HEVANS! I problem drew the best hand any one using my deck could have. It contained a Jinzo #7, Gravity Bind, Mage Power, Ragiki, Robbin’ Goblin, and a Harpie’s Feather Duster. Then I drew another gravity Bind. I set a gravity binds, Robbin’Goblin, harpies Feather Duster, Ragiki, and summoned Jinzo #7, then equip him with Mage power. Attacked for 3000 Direct
(8000-5000), He soon got a Blue Eyes White Dragon out, but I just activated Gravity Bind. Next turn, I drew a Cyber Jar, and set it incase of an emergency, attacked for 3000 again (8000-2000). At his next turn, he pulled a heavy Storm, and attacked the Jinzo#7 with the Blue Eyes White Dragon (5500-2000), and attacked the Cyber Jar (Face Down). He drew a Buster Blader, Barrel Dragon, Ragiki, Man-eater Bug, and a Mystical Space Typhoon. I Drew dark magician, Dark Hole, Premature Burial, Magician of Faith, and a Sinister Serpent. Next turn I drew a Magic Jammer. So, I started by using Dark hole, the premature burial the Jinzo#7, Tributed him for Dark magician and attacked for the game.
Round 2 Ethan. Vs. Me
How did this Kid Get past the first round, I will never know. But he sure didn’t know how to play this game, for starters, he had his fusion Deck and his Deck in the same deck. I already was annoyed. Then, he tributed from his hand for his summoned skull. Big no, no. After I called the referee to look at the situation, he was asked whether he knew how to play or not (remember, he is about 6 years old with a deck about 200 cards big). He asked a few questions and declared the match mine due to the fact he thought each time you played a card, you drew a card. Thankfully Devian, my next opponent and is a person on the same dueling level as me, may be a 10 year old, but he gives a good duel (he made his deck all by himself, thus, he is a prodigy!).
Round 3 Devian Vs. Me
Duel 1
At the vary start, we both drew countering cards. I attacked, he wabakued, he tribute to the doomed, I imperial ordered it, I Monster Reborn, he Magic Jammered it, I counter a trap with Seven Tools, He counters With Solemn Judgment, I counter with my own Solemn Judgment! Then, the game breaker, I call of the haunted my Sangan and Summoned Jinzo! Afterwards, I ragikied his field. Set 3 magic or trap cards, and equip Jinzo with mage Power, game over For Devian
Duel 2
Same as above, only he had gotten out a Blue Eyes White Dragon, and I brought out Relinquished to absorb him. Dark holed and reborn him, then tribute him for summoned Skull for the Win.
Soon afterward, he wanted to spar with me after the tournament. I accepted, except, he left before it was over.
Round 4 Zac Vs. Me
“The Heavens Twist, Thunder Roars, signaling the Coming of this ancient friendly Rivalry, and after the match, the one who is victories will be the one to carry the dawn of true power”- Slifer The Sky Dragons Description, with a Few add ones from me to describe this power and intensity of this match.
Duel 1.
At the start, I attacked his face down monster. It was a sangan. After putting him in the graveyard. I knew that this moment would tell me whether he was playing with his Exodia Deck, or his Stall. Now remember, he can change the structure of this deck at his will Via Side Deck. It was the Right Arm of the Forbidden One. Now I knew I was in serious trouble. I had more problems with his Exodia Deck then his stall. So, my first Evasive action was to IGNORE my Life points, simply because he would not target it at all unless I made sure his Exodia Pieces were beyond his reach. So, I knew that gravity bind would be a waste of time and space, so I started to build up my hand, while he used painful choice to get the 3 pieces he needed. Then he uses Back up Solider to retrieve his 3 pieces, Solemn Judgmented that. (4000-8000). Then I layed 4 magic/traps (I don’t know what I layed except a seven tools to stop his other Back Up Solider). The Summoned Jinzo#7 and attached Mage Power. Attacked Directly for 3000(4000-5000) The next turn I summoned Jinzo to the field by tributing my man-eater Bug, but he Solemn Judgmented that (4000- 2500) the he activated wabaku when I attacked. His next turn he drew a Ragiki and destroyed my field. The he summoned a sangan and attacked directly
(3000-2500) Next turn. Monster Reborn. I had the Dark magician in the graveyard and a big eye in my hand so if I could pull this off, I would win this round. I reborn the Dark magician and summoned Big Eye, then he activated his last Back up Solider. I seven tools it (2000-2500). I then summoned big eye to the field and attacked his sangan with big eye (2000-2300) and finished him off with the Dark magician for 2500. (2000-0000). I had barley won when I found out that he had the last 2 in his hand, if that went though, he would have won. I had the first duel done, but there was a second round to go.
Duel 2
We both side decked, because I wasn’t sure if he would use his stall or not, I just switched a man-eater bug with Exchange. It turned out that he did use his stall deck this round.
At the vary start, we got cyber Jared and he drew all monsters while I
drew 3, thankfully, Goblin attack force was one of the 3, so I put him in attack
mode. But he drew some valuable effect monsters, next turn, I activated dark
hole to stop it, but he activated Solemn Judgment to stop that and I
countered with my own Solemn Judgment. (4000-4000) I wish mage power showed up
in 2 turns, but it never happened. In his deck, he is found of using the Umi,
Tornado wall Combo. He activated it 2 turns later. So, I just premature burialed
my Goblin attack force and waited for the cards I needed to finish this game.
With the cards in my hand, I came up with a strategy, after my turn was up,
discard my Summoned skull and set a call of the Haunted incase he try’s to
reborn it him self. He did, and so that is how his Monster Reborn Got negated.
Then, I used call of the haunted on him and got him out, I had the 3 cards I
needed to finish this. A Jinzo, a Raigiki, and a Harpie’s Feather Duster. Then I
sacrificed Goblin attack force for Jinzo, activated Raigiki and Harpe’ Feather
Duster. I attacked with both for the game with a total of 4900 damage done to
him (4000-0000) after wards, to tell you how longed we stalled, I had only 6
cards left in my deck. Remember, I had 45 at the start, so this game took about
34 turns. That is excluding if I use Graceful Charity and Pot of Greed. It was
at that moment, that I noticed that both Zac and me had ascended to
a level far beyond Devian, Zane, or Chris’s Experience combined. After
that, we decided to play each other at school during our lunch period to bring
both our experience. My Next Opponent my rival, or a friendly one at that. After
I beat him at his only chance to be the weeks champion the first time, he has
had it for me. Now, with my new and improved abilities, I know I can stop him
and win this tournament (please excuse me if I sound dramatic and pretend like
this is a actual saga)
Finals Jared Vs. Me
Duel 1
Well these new mental abilities of mine did not come in any use, I didn’t draw much or anything and he finished me inn 10 turns.
Duel 2
Gravity bind, his decks main weakness. Already he flipped a spear cretin and then he used Raigiki, but I magic jammed that and put Dark Magician in the graveyard. Then I proceeded to destroy his Spear cretin with Goblin attack force (8000-6200) and got back Dark magician and attacked for 2500 (8000-3700), he had nothing in his grave. Then he passed the next turn. I drew the card to finish him off, a Mage power with already 3 cards set I activated it and attached it to the Dark Magician and set another Magic/ Trap Thus making the Dark Magician the Most powerful Monster My Deck can produce in terms of attack and Defense. At this point I thought about calling him the Dark Magician God, but that is beside the point. He was at 5000 attack, 1000 more the Obelisk the Tormentor (Sweet I thought). And Finished him with a Mighty blast directly at his life points straight from the scepter of the Dark Magician (see why I put him in my deck now?). (8000- negative 1300).
Duel 3.
Here it is, now all of my months of training and practice have come up to this. Will I be able to win the tournament? Will this be my 3rd Tournament Victory? Will I be able to finish the Job started at Finals 2 months ago? The simple answer is, I got Jinzo#7 out with a Mage power and 5 magic and traps 3rd turn, 3 turns later, and I won…I WON!!! My 3rd Tournament Victory!!
And so here are the Props and Slops
