Jinzo Beatdown Chris Simpson The Danger Room II Noblesville, IN 2/19/03 # of Participants: Only 17 this week. This is my first tourney report, so bear with me. It was a little smaller than usual this week, so it went quick. I'll start with the deck: Monster Cards (18) Level 1-4: 2x Magician of Faith 2x Sangan 1x Witch of the Black Forest 2x Wall of Illusion 1x Mask of Darkness 1x Cyber Jar 2x Dark Elf 3x Gearfried the Iron Knight 3x Goblin Attack Force Level 5-6: 1x Jinzo Magic Cards (12) 1x Raigeki 1x Dark Hole 1x Monster Reborn 1x Change of Heart 1x Pot of Greed 2x Heavy Storm 2x Nobleman of Crossout 1x Fissure 1x Premature Burial 1x The Forceful Sentry Trap Cards (10) 3x Waboku 2x Trap Hole 1x Call of the Haunted 1x Mirror Force 1x Magic Jammer 1x Seven Tools of the Bandit 1x Imperial Order Round 1: Daniel (just had a bunch of cards thrown together as he was a newbie) This was a short duel because he didn't know what he was doing. After the duel, we sat down and fixed his deck the best we could with his card stock, and then I helped him with some strategies. Match 1: Me 8000-7000, Him 8000-7750-3950-0 Match 2: Me 8000, Him 8000-6000-1900-0 Round 2: Tyler F. (Gravity Bind Deck) This is my good friend and we've had many duels before. Unfortunately for him, this one counted. He basically didn't have time to get his Gravity Binds out. I hated to beat him in second round, but we had fun. Even got in a game of Warlord after our duel because we still had plenty of time left before everyone else got finished with round. Match 1: Me 8000-7000, Him 8000-5700-0 Match 2: Me 8000, Him 8000-7900-6100-5700-5200-0 Round 3: Another Tyler (Didn't really have a theme) This was a fun duel. There for a while, neither one of us could attack due to trap and magic cards. This Tyler was still new to the game, so I had to help him out a little. Didn't quite understand all the rules. Here's how it went: Match 1: Me 8000, Him 8000-5700-6700-4300-0 Match 2: Me 8000-7000, Him 8000-3900-2100-1100-100-0 Finals: Zack (Beatdown/Fusion) This proved to be strongest competition. Had a pretty good deck, except that it was HUGE. He still played pretty well, just couldn't attack fast enough. I kept getting good draws, thank god for me. Had a fun duel anyway. Match 1: Me 8000-7000-6000, Him 8000-6000-2200-0 Match 2: Me 8000-6000, Him 8000-7000-6700-5700-3300-0 Got a few boosters for winning, which wasn't bad. Overall, it was fun. Got to help out some newbies, which I always love to do. The better players weren't there this week, and they'd better be there next week!
