I hope I got the format right on this, I suck with these >_<

Mark, Trauma—Comic Book World Cincinnati, OH—March 15, 03

This is my first report, so just bare with me if you could. Also, this is my first tournament and I'm on a VERY low budget, so I'm lacking quite a few key cards to most decks, but here goes.

I showed up at the tournament 45 minutes early just to be safe and get a feel for the place, which is an hour away >_<.  So I walk in and start asking if the tournament is today and all, so finally my girlfriend, who isn't participating, my friend Justin, and I go in.  Immediately we are more or less nervous from the seer amount of people there, 61 at the start of the tournament I believe.  So we get registered and all and already we can just tell that there are some people who are just plain cocky and in your face. Now to the tournament.

Since there were so many people, it had to be separated into two different rounds, since the owner only had 40 chairs. Just my luck I'm in the first round.

My opponent was a cool kid named Tim.  Pretty nice and nice deck, but just like me he had a low budget and couldn't get the cards that he truly needed for his deck, which was a clown control as much as I could tell.

First round: Me VS Tim

I go first and put down a fish along with a face down about and rush relentlessly, his go.

He puts down one monster in defense along with a M/t, my go.

I draw a malevolent nuzzler and attach that to my fish, then play a la jinn.  I attack his face down with la jinn killing it (can’t remember what it was) then flip the rush on my fish and go for the life points, his turn.

This turn he throws down a 1700 attack (can’t remember what this is either), and attaches a nuzzler on it and kills the la jinn, my go.

I draw change of heart, play that on his now 2400 lay a harpy brother and attack with all for the kill.

1-0

He went first this time, but still his deck didn't work out the way he wanted it too.  It was more or less the same as before but he got out a clown and a dragon zombie, both dieing pretty quickly. I win again.

2-0

We both talked a bunch about cards and stuff, but didn't get any trading in.  Before the next round though I was able to trade a Suijin for a Maha Vailo, even though the kid tried to give me two I didn't want to screw him so I just took the one.  Danielle (girlfriend) congrats me and stuff, and wished me luck for the next round.

But for Justin, his time was up, since he went against a kid with Raigeki, swords of revealing light, and a bunch of other nice cards.  Justin’s deck wasn't made for anything like that, in fact I'm not all too sure what his is made for, but oh well.

Round Two: Me VS Michelle

For the first time ever, my deck was going HORRIBLY wrong.  My first draw yielded nothing but magic and trap and I wouldn't get my first monster for another 3 turns.

He just kinda beat me down that duel, getting out Jinso and pulling some nice combos.

2-1

This duel was more or less the same cept that he had a gemini elf out that slaughtered my harpies bother.

So my tournament was up then also, but still fun. Now for my deck, this isn't all too great for what I'm trying to make it.
