Hello again, its time for the 6th edition of Diamond Sportscards and Comics.  I got  TON of e-mails from people who were a little mad at me for not writing a tourney report last week, so if you were wondering I lost to Mike (one of the best duelists) on purpose and took second.  “Why on purpose?” you ask.  Because the 1st place prize was some LON card called Fire Princess and if you’re up to date on the new cards you would know it’s a really bad card.  The 2nd place prize was an Ultra Rare from LON called Card of Safe Return, and it’s an awesome card that I would gladly forfeit 1st place for.  Oh and someone stole my binder last week while I was playing in the finals, so I lost my Jinzo, Imperial Order, Swords of Revealing light, Dragon Seeker (one of my favorite cards), Megamorph, 1st Edition Barrel Dragon, Call of the Haunted, $50 worth of LON packs that I had been saving up for and bought that day, and the TP2 Morphing Jar.  So as you could imagine I was pretty ticked off and bent on finding out who took my binder.  My suspects were Tamer (he lies and cheats, so I don’t think stealing would bother him either), John (a guy who from what I heard wasn’t supposed to play the game anymore, so he could of taken them knowing he’s not going to show up again), another John (some weird adult), some skater kidz, and Sung.  Well onto this week’s match!  My friend Chris and I got there early and asked all the suspects if they took my binder, of course they all said no, except for John, who wasn’t there, what a coincidence.  EVERYONE we asked about the binder said “Hmm, it was probably Tamer.”  Yet Tamer denies it, but then again, who would ever admit to stealing?  I signed up for the tourney and things got started.

Round One (by the way, LON is legal in this tourney, with no restrictions)

Me VS Gerish (I hope I spelled his name right)

I have never seen this guy here before so I didn’t know what to expect.  He had a deck with about 50-60 cards in it so I knew he couldn’t be that dangerous.  The first duel started out slow, he had many defensive cards such as Wall of Illusion, Spirit of the Harp, and Giant Soldier of Stone.  I kept on attacking into his strong defensive cards and slowly lost LP.  I knew I needed a good card quick and I pulled a Raigeki!  What luck, I destroyed his monsters and took a big bite out of his LP with my 2 La Jinn and Hayabusa Knight.  Next turn he set one monster and one M/T and looked really confident about it.  I drew dark hole and had a heavy storm in my hand so I played them both and got rid of his Waboku and Cyber Jar. Phew!  Too bad he didn’t know he could chain that Waboku…  I used Premature Burial on my Hayabusa knight, slapped an Axe of D. on it and attacked him for game.  The second one ended in 3 turns.  First turn I set a Witch and Call of the Haunted, he killed my Witch with a La Jinn.  Second turn I got Fiend Megacyber from witch, and drew a Jinzo.  I also had a Summoned Skull, Hayabusa Knight, and some other cards in my hand.  I set the Knight and ended my turn.  He summoned another La Jinn and killed my knight, and hit me for 1800.  The third and final turn I drew pot of greed, played it, got raigeki and card destruction.  I put down raigeki, special summoned the Fiend Megacyber, and played Card Destruction.  I got monster reborn and premature burial in my new hand.  I played raigeki, summoned back Jinzo, Hayabusa, and Skull with my reborning cards and attacked with my all of my brutes to win in one turn.

WIN: (5400-0) (6200-0)

After losing all of my cards (besides my deck) last week I figured I better get back on track and buy a few packs to get summore cards to trade with.  The LON packs were 6 bux!  But the guy selling the packs said that they that expensive because they were hobby packs, which meant more rares.  I took his word for it and bought 2 packs.  I got Jam Breeding Machine (this card is horrible, it will hurt you more than help you) and Mask of Dispel.  One super rare is ok I guess, but then I got that strange yu-gi-oh fever and felt the need to blow all my money on packs.  I bought one more and got the Ultra Rare “The Last Warrior From Another Planet.”  Awesome fusion card that when it’s on the field no monsters can be summoned.  I felt the need to try my luck again and bought one more pack and got the Ultra Rare “Mage Power”!  This card is so freakin’ awesome, you get +500 ATK and DEF points for every card in your M/T zone, a possible +2500 ATK/DEF boost!  I quickly traded out the Axe of D. in my deck for my new Mage Power.  I decided to buy just one more pack and got my third Ultra Rare-Destiny Board.  I traded it away for a Fusion Gate and Bazoo the Soul Eater, which are both cool cards.  I put in Bazoo and took out my 7 Colored Fish.  On to round two!

Round Two

Me VS Ryan

As soon as this kid saw me he said “Man! Why do I have to play you?!?  I’m gonna lose!”  Yeah well I guess you can’t call him a liar… I won the first duel no prob in just a few turns.  Next duel he tried to forfeit the match just to get his pack and leave, but they made him play the duel out in order to get his pack.  So I finished him off quickly and let him go.

WIN: (8000-0) (8000-0)

After this duel I get the horrifying news that Carl, a guy I know from school, has a Gemini Elf in his deck.

Fourth Round

Me VS Jeremy Dockens (some adult who plays really slow, he runs and exodia deck)

This guy beat me a long long time ago when I first got into yu-gi-oh, and a few weeks ago I had to play him and I whooped him so bad it wasn’t even funny.  I beat him no sweat last time so I figured it’d be the same this time.  Since he was playing Exodia my starting hand was very favorable for me:  Robbin’ Goblin, Heavy Storm, Raigeki, Hayabusa, Monster Reborn, and Jinzo.  I set down Robbin’ Goblin and played Hayabusa in ATK mode.  He took his turn and set a trap and one card in DEF mode.  I drew another haybusa, and I played raigeki to kill his face down sangan, and he took an exodia piece.  I flipped over Robbin’ Goblin and he suddenly looked very uncomfortable, since Robbin’ Goblin spells certain doom for Exodia.  I put down another hayabusa and attacked him directly, he activated gravity bind, but I reminded him that Hayabusa is L3, so he took 4000 damage and lost the head of exodia.  Heh heh… Next turn he played a monster down and played toll-pay 500 LP to attack.  My turn, I drew change of heart, played it on his giant germ, reborned exodia’s head and attacked him for the win.  The next duel was horrible for me, I attacked my way into nimble momongas, giant germs, and wall of illusions the whole time.  And even though I had Jinzo and 4 other monsters out, I had only 1600 LP left, which was not enough b/c he had Toll out, so I just ended the 2nd duel knowing I couldn’t win.  The third duel went really quick, I heavy stormed his g-bind and toll and attacked him directly with my Bazoo and Fiend Megacyber.  Next turn I raigeki’d his only monster, right arm of exodia, and attacked for the win.

WIN: (4500-0) (1600-9800) (5500-0)

Quarter Finals

Me VS Sung

I don’t have a lot to say about this one except that the whole duel was a huge disappointment because Sung used to be VERY VERY good but lately he’s done nothing but suck, but not as bad as this kid I know named TJ, god he sucks so bad.  He’s the biggest freakin’ idiot I know.  He’s the kinda guy who plays man-eater bug and says “Flip, ok, now I need a coin!”  LOL! JK! Newayz, I won no prob.  By the way-in the 2nd duel I had out a summoned skull with mage power equipped to it, and I had my M/T zone full.  So I had produced the most powerful monster my deck can create-5000 ATK/3700 DEF Summoned Skull! I felt like Kiaba with his Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

WIN: (6500-0) (7200-0)

Semifinals

Me VS Patrick

Patrick is another guy I know from school.  He’s an ok duelist, but I was surprised to see him in the semi’s.  The first duel was very basic, just each of us quickly destroying the opponent’s monsters and attacking.  I ended up playing Raigeki, summoning Jinzo, and reborning my Bazoo and attacking for the win.  The next duel he just kept on countering everything I did.  He freakin Mirror Forced me when I attacked with 2 GAF and a Hayabusa Knight.  He just kept putting out monsters to kick my @$$, and I had nothing.  How ever the 3rd duel I pulled all my good cards in one hand finished him off with ease.  But he did put up a good fight, I mean this is only his 2nd tourney and he made it all the way to the semi’s.

WIN: (5600-0) (0-3500) (4800-0)

Finals

Me VS Carl

This is the guy with the big bad, half naked, Gemini Elf.  He’s got 1900 ATK points, but I have Mage Power, and a big purple monkey named Bazoo!  The first duel was all in my favor.  I seemed to have the perfect counter for every card he played, I took the first duel with ease.  The 2nd duel was kinda funny.  We both used all of our most powerful cards in the early beginning and ended up having no cards in our hands or on the field at the same time.  We also hadn’t touched each other’s LP once.  It was my turn, I drew and played Hayabusa and attack him for 2000, 8000-6000.  He drew the “mighty” Gemini Elf and took out my knight, 7100-6000.  I drew a La Jinn… A LA JINN!  Would you believe it?  We are fighting to gain control of the field and he’s got me beat by 100 points, jeesh!  Who woulda thought it would come down to this?  Oh well, I played it in DEF mode and ended my turn.  He drew a card and attacked my face down la jinn and destroyed it.  I drew Gemini Elf’s L4 superior-Goblin Attack Force.  I attacked and gained the field advantage, 7100-5600.  He drew and played dark hole, and followed up with a Hayabusa knight, 5100-5600.  I drew my new favorite card, Bazoo the Soul Eater!  He’s big, he’s purple, and he’ll be munching on your soul’s electro-plasmatic energy if you get in his way!  LOL!  I removed 3 cards from my graveyard to increase his power by 900 points, all the way up to 2500.  I attacked his defenseless Hayabusa Knight and took the lead, 5100-4100.  Next turn he drew one trap and placed it on the field.  Lucky me, I drew heavy storm and destroyed his last hope-mirror force.  I removed 3 more cards from my graveyard and attacked with Bazoo again, 5100-1600.  He drew and played Raigeki, destroying my only monster.  I drew monster reborn, brought back Bazoo, and attacked him for my First Place Win!

WIN: (4500-0) (5100-0)
