Preface (written by BigSpooky)
"First, there was the great Spooky and his army of Killer Squirrels. But as King Spooky grew older, he found it increasingly difficult to maintain control of his vast armada as he once had. So the king bestowed the right to wield the awesome power of the Killer Squirrels on a select few. This is the story of one brave man who hearkened to the task..."

Welcome back to another exciting edition of Squirrels Gone Wild!  I've run out of subtitles to name my deck so I'll just keep releasing more and more volumes until inspiration strikes again.  Anyways, as you all know, I'm back home in El Paso, TX so I'm dueling at a new tournament location.  I actually like this place a bit better because 1) I can get to it easier than the place in DC because I have access to a car here (figure 15 minutes vs. 1 hour) and 2) they finally gave me a working duelist ID.  Yay!  Something happened with my old ID and none of my tournaments were being reported.  Dream Wizards never caught onto that but this place picked up on the mistake really quickly.  Sadly, all my other dueling scores are gone but, hey, at least I have a score.  Now I got to play catch-up and work my way back up the ranks.  This should be fun.

Last week I went into the tournament without any LOD cards at my disposal.  However, this past week my box of LOD came in and I pulled an Injection Faerie Lily among other things.  Needless to say, that went straight into my deck.  Also, I have to thank Blain because he lent me his Yata Garasu since mine hadn't come in the mail at the time of the tournament so, THANK YOU BLAIN!!!

By the way, I'm a member of the dueling group Killer Squirrels Online [KSO].  If you'd like to know more, e-mail me or any other member of KSO and they'll tell you all about it.

Anyway, with introductions out of the way, it's now time to kick it SQUIRREL STYLE!!!

Ok, here's the basic strategy for the deck (try to keep up):  Make your opponents lifepoints less than or equal to zero.  The sideboard is basically to take down theme decks like Exodia  I also put 2 Kycoos in place of the Soul Release most people side in against Exodia  They work a bit better as if I can't get a piece into the graveyard, they can still atack.

Those of you who remember my last couple of reports will notice that I took the Summoned Skull out in favor of Barrel Dragon and now took out the Barrel Dragon in favor of Summoned Skull.  It's a wild and crazy world.

And so the story begins...

Ok, as you all know I'm often late for tournaments, among other things.  Well, aside from this tournament starting an hour earlier than the one in DC, today they were starting it an ADDITIONAL hour earlier because they were closing early.  On top of that, I didn't get too much sleep the previous night because Killer Squirrels were running through my head and I was psyched about winning the first ever KSO tournament (but that's another story).  I told Blain to call me in the morning and he did, but I had somehow managed to wake up before he called so I was having a quick breakfast.  Thanks again Blain, way to watch my back.  Anyway, I got to the tournament with about 15 minutes to spare.  How do I keep showing up on time?  It's phenomenal!  But I digress...

Looking around at this crowd I saw... Mike and Abel, ranked #1 and #2 in the store respectively.  That same adult from last week was there... I still don't know his name though.  Blain was already there and prompted me to go sign up for the tournament.  As I was signing up, I was informed I now had a new, working ID (Yay!).  Blain came up behind me and decided to buy a box since the cardboard starter deck box he had been using was getting beat up.  However, the store was out of black boxes and that's what Blain wanted.  I told Blain to get one and I'd swap him an extra black box I had been using for my fun deck for whatever deck box he bought, so now my Valkyrion fun deck has green sleeves AND a green box.  Nice.  After signing up for the tournament, blain and I exchanged some cards to strengthen each other's decks.  Abel, remembering me from last week asked if I was BigSpooky on Pojo.  I told him I was Daedalus, but BigSpooky and I are great friends and fellow KSO members.  A while later pairings were posted and it turns out I had to face Jason who I had dueled with last week for fun.  However, the place was pretty crammed with people today so they didn't have enough tables for everyone so Jason, Mike, some guy and I had to wait for other people to finish before we could duel.  After a while, some spots opened up and it was time to DUEL!

Round 1: Kris (That's me!) vs Jason [Clown Control]
I was pretty psyched about not having to play Mike or Abel in the first round again, because I like to get warmed up first.  I knew Jason was running a deck with Gravity Binds so I figured my Squirrels would pull me through... you can always count on the Squirrels.

Duel 1: This was an interesting game.  It was a battle between Squirrels and his Clowns.  Eventually though, my squirrels one.
Me: 8000-7000-3700-4500-2100
Jason: 8000-6800-4900-3100-0

Duel 2: Summoned Skull direct.  Summoned Skull on facedown, Squirrel direct.  Squirrel on facedown, Summoned Skull with United We Stand direct.  Top decked Nobleman just when I needed it to remove his... ummm... it was either a Fiber Jar or a Penguin Soldier.  Game.  Oddly enough, they called time RIGHT as this one finished.
Me: 8000
Jason: 8000-5500-4500-200-0

Jason was fun to play as always.  His little bro, who we had been watching before we dueled, had lost his first match but he pulled a Black Skull Dragon!

Round 2: Daedalus (That's me too!) vs Mike [Beatdown/Machine]
As I've mentioned before, Mike's ranked number 1 in the store.  I recently found out he was also #4 Texas, #5 Central, and #24 US.  Pretty impressive.  I'm pretty sure Mike was playing the same deck he beat me down with the previous week.  It's a Machine/Beatdown hybrid of some sort.  Mostly beatdown with a bit of Machine mixed in.

Duel 1:  Mike drew a pretty poor hand this game.  I on the other hand, drew Injection Faerie Lily.  I Noblemaned his facedown monster, Heavy Stormed, played Injection Fairy Lily and hit Mike for 3400 after paying for the Injection.  After setting a trap, it was Mike's turn.  During Mike's turn he plays his own Injection Fairy Lily (go top decking luck!) but doesn't attack.  My turn I slap United We Stand on Lily and attack his Lily.  I pay 2000 for my Lily, he also pays 2000 (he takes a 1000 less damage if he pays) and I hit him for 800.  Next turn Mike sets a trap and tries to bluff that it's a Mirror Force.  I attack him anyways.  Game.
Me: 8000-6000-4000
Mike: 8000-4600-1800-0

Duel 2:  The Fates decided that it was my turn to draw a poor hand.  I managed to hit Mike with a Killer Squirrel but he destroyed it so I was left monsterless.  After a hit from a Gemini Elf and then from a Gemini and a Mechanical Chaser, I was at 2350.  The only monster I had in my hand was Yata-Garasu so I set it to protect my lifepoints.  Down came another Gemini and there went my lifepoints.
Me: 8000-6100-2350-0
Mike: 8000-7000

Duel 3:  Mike slammed into one of my squirrels this game (yay!) but it was with a Spear Dragon (doh!) so I got to special summon one (the other was in my hand).  I then played the other squirrel from my hand, flipped my set squirrel, attacked his Spear Dragon, and then attacked him.  Next turn I Noblemaned his facedown and hit him with both squirrels.  Mike made a joke about not needing that monster and how he was just trying to lure out my Crossouts, hehe.  Next turn I drew Exiled Force, so I played him and tributed him to destroy Mike's face-down monster again.  Both Squirrels attack again, leaving Mike at 1000 life.  Next turn Mike sets a M/T and a monster.  I top deck my other Nobleman of Crossout.  I Crossout his facedown, switch one Squirrel into defense incase he has a Mirror Force, and then attack.  That was game.
Me: 8000-9000-7200
Mike: 8000-7000-5000-3000-1000-0

So I came back this week to defeat Mike.  He was a really good duelist and was quite good at bluffing.  It's just that I'm now immune to bluffs.  Sorry Mike :)  I'm sure you'll exact your revenge next week.  On a side note, people were completely and totally shocked when Mike lost, like they thought he was joking or something.  Come on kiddies, no one's unbeatable, especially not me.

Round 4: Professor Squirrels (Also me!) vs Jose [????]
No, I didn't skip round 3.  Somewhere in here they somehow worked in a bye.  I think it had something to do with Jason, Mike, "That-guy" and myself starting later than everyone else.  Anyways, I was surprised to find that there were only 4 duelists left, so this was the Semis.  Equally surprising was the fact that Abel had been defeated!  What an interesting chain of events because I thought I was going to have to play both of them today.

Duel 1:  I drew Yata-Garasu in my opening hand, along with a Killer Squirrel.  I played my Squirrel and attacked his facedown which died.  Next turn he plays another monster and I play Nobleman of Crossout on it (wow that card's been handy today) and then, because I don't have any other monsters, I play Yata-Garasu and hit Jose for 1200 lifepoints.  Jose still had 4 cards in his hand but denying cards is also great with Yata, not just for the lock ;)  Next turn Jose plays a facedown monster.  During my turn I run it over with a Squirrel and then hit Jose with Yata (again).  Jose then informs me that I've got the lock on him because there's nothing else he can do.  That was a bit unexpected.
Me: 8000
Jose: 8000-6800-6600-0 (Yata Lock)

Duel 2:  Holy cow I drew an awful hand.  The beatings came down swift and fierce.  The only damage I did to Jose was when he attacked my face-down Witch of the Black Forest with his own Witch in the 2nd turn.  Eventually Jose had a formidable army going and I hand just about nothing in my hand or on the field, and only a measly 400 life points.  I drew Pot of Greed which then gave me... Dark Hole and Nimble Momonga.  At this point Blain was watching me duel and he couldn't believe my luck.  He had laughed earlier when I kept drawing amazing upon amazing card against someone else and with this he was like "No Way!"  Well, I played Dark Hole much to Jose's dismay and then set my Squirrel (didn't want to attack because if he'd have played anything with an attack of 1400 or more, I'd die before Nimble gave me my 1000 life).  Next turn Jose goes "no way!" but then top decks Change of Heart, plays a Gemini and that was game.  No ridiculous comebacks here.
Me: 8000-7000-6000-4800-2600-400-0
Jose: 8000-7900

Duel 3:  One of my Squirrels got hit this game, pushing me up to 8800, and stripping my deck of 2 cards.  Cyber Jar got flipped at least once, probably twice.  I used my Painful Choice, Pot of Greed and both my Graceful Charities.  I had set Morphing Jar with a sizeable force out so I could draw some good cards, but I kept top-decking good cards so I didn't flip it for several turns.  By this time I had whittled Jose's life points down to 600.  With 4 or 5 monsters out (including Jinzo), Jose set a monster.  Up until then I had gotten lucky with Noblemen and Exiled Force to remove his monsters but I was out of removal.  I glanced at my deck and saw that I had only 5 cards left.  The set Morphing Jar was starting to look like a liability... until I realized that one of those 5 cards was my Raigeki.  I flipped the Jar, drew my last 5 cards, Raigekied and finished Jose off.  Jose, completely dumbfounded, revealed that his set card was Fiber Jar.  The judges called time on us approximately at this moment.  It was pretty intense.
Me: 8000-8800
Jose: 8000-7000-6000-4700-4000-3000-2300-600-0

Jose was a good duelist and I had fun playing him.  I remember at one point in one of the duels I discarded my Morphing Jar to Graceful and he saw it and was like "Evil!"  I took it as a compliment, hehe.

Round 5 (Finals): Squirrel Master Kris (Wooo!) vs Gabriel [Beatdown]
Gabriel's the guy that took out Abel before the Semis.  Aside from that he had wanted to duel me the week before.  Now, in the finals, he got his chance.

Duel 1:  Mike, Abel, Blain and several other people were watching this duel, though not nearly the crowd I remember hovering over me at Dream Wizards that one time.  Come to think of it, this was about a billion times less stressful and more relaxing that the finals at Dream Wizards, but that's not the point.  The point is that Gabriel showed his opening hand to Mike and Abel and they both expressed how amazing it was.  That wasn't good for me.  Too bad I didn't draw Morphing Jar or I would've set it, hehe.  Anyways, I think I set a Squirrel along with a trap or two and then let Gabriel go.  On his turn he plays Graceful Charity, then Pot of Greed, and then Graceful Charity, Change of Heart's my Squirrel, Tributes it for Jinzo and then attacks me.  OUCH!  Mike and Abel joked about how Gabriel went through half his deck on the first turn.  I somehow got rid of his Jinzo and then tried to attack him only to be Scapegoated.  Next turn he Premature Burials his Jinzo (ARG!) and hits me for 1800 somehow.  Next turn I set something, he however plays Lily, attacks my facedown with Jinzo, and then slams into me next turn.  I draw... absolutely nothing and the game is Gabriel's.
Me: 8000-5600-4000-600-0
Gabriel: 8000-7200-5200

Duel 2:  Time for one of my trademark comebacks!  Basically this game Injection Fairy Lily came through and totally decimated Gabriel.  Go Lily!
Me: 8000-6000-3900-1900
Gabriel: 8000-4000-600-0

Duel 3:  Do or die time.  Game 3 of the finals.  Well, Gabriel plowed into one of my Squirrels with his Gemini Elf.  next turn I drew Yata.  A quick look at my hand showed that I also had Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster in my hand.  That's pretty dangerous.  Blain looks at my hand and goes "Do it!"  I look at Gabriel and see that he only has one card left in his hand.  I play Harpie's Feather Duster which resolves and wipes out his traps.  He might have changed Scapegoat but that didn't matter much because I then played Raigeki wiping away all his monsters.  I flipped both Squirrels into attack mode, summoned Yata, and attacked for 2200.  He looks at the card in his and and someone looking over his shoulder says something and Gabriel says "wait and see what he does first."  On his turn he does absolutely nothing.  After that I realize I've got him in the Yata lock.  No doubts about it this time, I won an official Yu-Gi-Oh tournament!
Me: 8000-9000
Gabriel: 8000-5800-0 (Yata Lock)

Gabriel was fun to duel against.  I guess you should be careful what you wish for, because Gabriel got to duel me and walked away from it with 2nd place, which isn't bad.  Hey, he beat Abel so that's pretty awesome as well.  Abel was kind of ashamed about it but I told him to lighten up, it's just a game after all.  I got my two packs and ended up with... Pot of Greed and Dark Elf.  Oh well.  I never get any love from tournament packs.
