Warrior Deck-Kurt-Imagination Unlimited-Rochester,MI Marauding Captain: The Leader of the Warriors! Rochester, Michigan – Imagination Unlimited Name: Kurt Number of participants: 30+ Hey I’m Kurt! I’m glad you decided to read my tourney report for my Warrior deck on June 5th, 2003. This was the first tourney that my store would allow the new LOD cards so I was very excited because I’ve had them for weeks. I did a little before the tournament, but before I get to that let me show you my deck: [Total Cards: 40] [Monsters: 15] x1 Witch of the Black Forest x1 Sangan x1 Yata Garasu x1 Cyber Jar x1 Exiled Force x2 Kuriboh x2 Marauding Captain x3 Goblin Attack Force x3 Gearfried the Iron Knight [Magic Cards: 20] x1 Monster Reborn x1 Premature Burial x1 Raigkei x1 Dark Hole x1 Creature Swap x1 Change of Heart x1 Snatch Steal x1 Scapegoat x2 Graceful Charity x2 Reinforcements of the Army x3 Fissure [Trap Cards: 5] x1 Imperial Order x1 Torrential Tribute x1 Mirror Force x1 Call of the Haunted x1 Ceasefire Well that is my Warrior deck. It has had great success so far. If you feel like making my deck I don’t really care unless you go to my store. If you want to make some suggestions on it, just e-mail me at zushy_man@yahoo.com or AIM me at Zushyman. Oh, I do have a sideboard, but I never went into it so I won’t post it. Now for what I did before the tourney: I helped out a very talented kid with his Necrofear deck. It should be really powerful once he gets a Graceful Charity, Snatch Steal, and Fissure x2, so I’m going to have to look out for him in the future. I also traded away one of my extra Scapegoats and a SDJ Gearfried the Iron Knight for 2 Fairy Meteor Crush. I did one more trade, Solemn Judgment for the Creature Swap in my deck. Obviously I put in it my deck before the tourney started. When the store keeper was announcing the brackets, he told us that Upperdeck isn’t making the TP3 cards anymore because of the huge amount of new duelist to the Duelist Kingdom Tournament so they can't supply everyone with Tournament packs. He said it would take Upperdeck around 6-8 weeks to get more of them so they are just he said Upperdeck is going to stop making TP3 cards and wait until tournament season 3. I was very pissed, but we still received a LOD pack for entering. So that was ok, but I got a bad rare. Oh well, on with the tournament… [Round 1: Kurt vs. Chris (Direct Damage/Beatdown)] This guy plays with a lot of Equips and Jinzo #7. He even threw in some Hayabusa’s, but I didn’t really care. This guy is pretty cool and it one of my friends, but I have to win so I show him no mercy! Duel 1, best of 3: Kurt: 8000 Chris: 8000>7800>7600>Yata Lock Right out of the gates I pulled a Yata lock. I had these cards in my hand: Yata-Garasu, Fissure, Monster Reborn, Exiled Force, Heavy Storm, draw: Goblin Attack Force. I went first this duel and played my Goblins in defense. He summoned Gemini Elf and attacked my Goblins. Main Phase 2 he set a M/T card. Next turn I drew up Kuriboh. I next used Fissure and destroyed Gemini, summoned Yata and attacked. He tried to attack, but my Kuriboh protected my LP. I put him in a Yata lock fast. Duel 2, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>6700>5700 Chris: 8000>3700>1700>0 I really don’t remember this duel at all. I know on my second turn I Fissured his Gemini and summoned Marauding Captain which summoned Goblins then attacked for a bunch. I used Goblins like 3 times in that duel. He tried to win with his Hayabusas, but Mirror Force stood in his way. [Round 2: Kurt vs. Nick (Dragon/Gravity Bind)] I’ve never seen this person before, but I won 2 duels in 5 minutes so I was happy. Anyway, this person played a Lord of D. dragon deck with Gravity Bind and Dream Clown. I was a little confused, but that’s ok. Duel 1, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>6000>3700 Nick: 8000>7000>6800>Yata Lock I went first by summoning Goblins in attack position. Then I let him go. He Change of Hearted my Goblins summoned Dark Elf and attacked for 5700. A good first move, but I was never worried. I used Fissure and put him in a Yata lock eventually. :) He gave up as soon as I had him in the lock. Duel 2, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>7800 Nick: 8000>5800>3300>0 I don’t remember this duel, but I use the old Marauding Captain, Goblin thing and hit him a bunch. Like I said, I finished this guy off quick, very quick. He had a very weak hand shake at the end. Oh well. I advance to the 3rd round. Yippe! [Round 3: Kurt vs. Paul (Dragons)] This kid is pretty cool. He plays a heavy dragon deck. It still needs some work, but it was an ok deck. Anyway, on with the duel. Duel 1, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>6900>6800>6800>5800>4300 Paul: 8000>6500>6200>6000>5800>Yata Lock This duel I got the Yata lock on him in 4 turns. I love Yata. He was pretty pissed, but I didn’t care. :) Duel 2, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>6200>4800 Paul: 8000>5700>4500>2100>0 This was a very fast duel. He summoned Dragons and then I tried to get a Yata lock on him, but he used a special dragon card, but I forgot its name. It was sort of like a Torrential Tribute. This killed my Yata, but this didn’t stop me from destroying him. I used my favorite Dark Hole/Raigkei + Marauding Captain + Goblins combo to do 3500. Booo ya! [Round 4: Kurt vs. Jon (Basic Beatdown)] This kid used the basic Harpies Brother, 7 Colored Fish, and La Jinn. I wasn’t too worried. I didn’t need to be. I think this kid goes to my school, but I don't play at school so I wouldn't know. He also had his friend with him, but I remember his friend from school. Duel 1, best of 3: Kurt: 8000 Jon: 8000>5700>4700>Yata Lock I finished this duel in 5 minutes with my Goblins, Gearfrieds, and such. Then I use my Yata to finish him off. He didn’t even hit me. w00t! He was amazed how fast I beat him and he told his friend, "You better hope you don't have to play him." LoL! Duel 2, best of 3: Kurt: 8000> 7200 Jon: 8000>4500>3500>2700>2600>300>0 The only damage I took was from using my Premature Burial. I totally destroyed him with Goblins and Marauding Captain. Sorry I didn’t write much for this round, but I didn’t remember much. [Round 5, the Finals: Kurt vs. Brandon (N00b Deck with great cards)] This kid used a combination of Ritual, Exodia, and Beatdown. I didnt think he would have a Yata in his deck. For some odd reason his deck worked. No, I'm not on drugs. Duel 1, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>6200>4300>1100>0 Brandon: 8000>7800>5600>3300>100 I lost this duel, I don’t really know how. I first tried to get him in a Yata lock, but then he used Mirror Force, tried to use his own Yata and I Mirror Forced it, LoL. We hit each other with blows while destroying our opponents monsters. I hit him with Yata once, but then Yata wasn’t much of a help. He summoned his Masked Beast and I was in trouble. Brandon had 3300 left when I drew Change of Heart. I had a defense Goblins I couldn’t switch back to attack mode because I attacked last turn with it. I attacked him and he was down to 100. Didn’t matter because he summoned Sangan, attacked Goblins with Sangan, and finished me off with Masked Beast. Duel 2, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>4400 Brandon: 8000>6200>4000>Yata Lock I used my Gearfried to take out 1800 LP then summoned Yata and he knew it was over. I would do 2000 a turn. Duel 3, best of 3: Kurt: 8000>6100>5900>2700>0 Brandon: 8000 He summoned his Masked Beast again and of course I don’t have anything to stop it. He dominated with Masked Beast and just to add to the fun he summoned Yata-Garasu. I only had Kuriboh. One chance to draw something good, hopefully Snatch Steal, but unfortunately I drew Marauding Captain. I lost and he won the tourney. I was very disappointed in myself for losing to a n00b, but Yata can change everything. Ahh…I wish I was the only one with Yata. [Tournament Overview:] I received 2 LOD boosters for getting 2nd, but I didn’t get any good cards once again. I did feel good helping out other kids with thier decks and such. I even gave away my extra Pot of Greed. Although I only recived 2nd place I felt I had a good tournament. I'm really disapointed about the TP3 thing. Hopefully Upperdeck will be smarter next season and print more than neccesary. I'm still ranked 1st overall in the store and my brother follows a good 700 points behind in 2nd, so I have a pretty good lead right now. There is always next week little n00b! I've found that Scapegoat can help you in very tightsituations so you may want to run 1 in your Beatdown. The only weakness it has it Spear Dragon so look out for that. [Props:] 1.) Getting 2nd place, but usually I get 1st. 2.) Helping out friends with decks. I like helping people. 3.) Traded for Creature Swap. 4.) Mom driving me. 5.) Getting a new Shonen Jump! [Slopes:] 1.) Losing to a n00b. 2.) Getting junk in my booster packs. 3.) Brother got out in 1st round. 4.) Losing to a n00b. Thanks for reading my tourney report if you have any questions, my name is Kurt, but you can all me Zushyman, and my e-mail is zushy_man@yahoo.com or AIM me at Zushyman. Thanks for posting my tourney report Pojo!
