From: Cindy Bluestein [mrjblue@msn.com] Subject: Friday Tournament on 7/25/03-Joe-The Trap Deck Hello everyone! This was a weekly tournament and the usual people were here. Brad, Ryan, Carl, Mike. They all were here. But, unlike them, I played a special deck. It was a fun deck that beat most people there---A trap deck!!! No one ever pulled Jinzo on me! Now, heres the deck! Monsters: 10 2 Marauding Captain 1 Bazoo the Soul Eater 3 Goblin Attack Force 1 Spear Dragon 1 Fiber Jar 1 Exiled Force 1 Cyber Jar Magics: 8 1 Raigeki 1 Dark Hole 1 Monster Reborn 1 Change of Heart 1 Pot of Greed 1 Harpie's Feather Duster 2 Graeful Charity Traps: 22 1 Mirror Force 1 Magic Cylinder 1 Imperial Order 1 Call of the Haunted 1 Raigeki Break 3 Waboku 3 Trap Hole 1 Mask of Restrict 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Bottomless Shifting Sand 2 Solemn Judgement 1 Magic Jammer 1 Seven Tools of the Bandit 3 Fake Trap Theres the deck. It's pretty strait forward for my first trap deck. And they did very well, better than I expected! But enough yap, let's start the tournament! Round 1: The Trap Deck vs. Zoltan (playing a Defensive Deck I guess) I didn't know how this would turn out, but my hand showed prosperity. I had 2 Trap Holes, 1 Waboku, and 2 Goblin Attack Force. I drew a Fiber Jar, set the 3 traps, and summoned Goblin. I expected something more from Zoltan, but I was wrong. He set a monster and ended his turn. I say to him, "we'll be here all day if you just set stuff, let me speed up things a bit!" I draw a Cyber Jar and set the Fiber Jar. I quietly said, "Pass..." Zoltan was wondering what's wrong with me. He asks me what is wrong and I quietly say, "Nothing, start your turn... It'll be over soon..." Zoltan is starting to get freaked out, exactly what I wanted him to do. That way, he'd forget about my face down cards, the Waboku and 2 Trap Holes. He flips his Giant Soldier of Stone and was just about to play Shield and Sword when I stop him and activate Trap Hole. That's when he lost it. He knows that a duelist of my calibur wouldn't run Trap Holes. I told him that with this deck, he'll find out why. He then plays Shield and Sword, summons a Goblin, but is Trap Holed. He says, "Argh!" and ends his turn. I draw and say, "It's over, I flip Fiber Jar!" Zoltan hates Fiber Jar 'cause he's the only one there without one! Everything is shuffled and my new hand was Waboku, Solemn Judgement, Marauding Captain, Spear Dragon, and Raigeki. I play Marauding which brings down the Spear and attack him directly. Then I set the 2 traps. I expected more traps from a trap deck, but oh well. He summons another Giant Soldier, but I activate Waboku. He ends. I draw a Goblin and summon it, switched Spear to attack position, play Raigeki, then hit him for 5400 damage directly! that with the 3100 last turn was game over! Between duels, Zoltan says that he's going to keep shut and swap in a Jinzo from his Side Deck. I wondered why it wasn't in there from the start... go figure. The next duel started and my opening hand was insane! It was Goblin, 2 Charitys that just so happen to be Graceful, Pot of Greed and Raigeki. This duel was real quick, lets just say that I finished him off in a turn... below is his LP: 8000 -> 6100 -> 0 Now things were going to get interesting. I decided to go see Cocky Carl Barone who was playing warriors. He said that my trades for a Don Zaloog were nuts (5 Ultra Rares for 1, Tyrant Dragon and Necrofear for another). He thanked me so much after the tournament when he won with them! Round 2: The Trap Deck vs. Some Tall Guy w/ a Ring of Destruction This was going to be a long duel, 'cause I knew this guy. He was kinda tall and kinda old to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, but Yu-Gi-Oh! is a game for everyone. He was a tad tougher than Zoltan, and it took me a while to get his deck theme. He tried to pull up the Barrel Dragon. My traps didn't like that too much and I killed it 4 times until I pulled out the Mask of Restrict! That screwed him over. He fell to my almighty traps (using 3 Judgements in a row is a sin!). The next round was tougher cause he crossouted my Fiber Jar. The guy had cheated 'cause he didn't remove the Fiber from his deck. I thanked him for this 'cause thats how I won the match! Now this guy was pretty angry. The guy was about to win it when I Judgmented his Ring of Destruction, then flipped another Solemn Judgement when he summoned Barrel Dragon, then I Judgemented the 7 tools that he played to counter my Judgement on his Barrel Dragon! ---- Now was break time. Brad was worried about facing my deck. No one knew how to stop a trap deck 'cause no one expected anyone to play it. They were all wrong... But so was I when I faced one of my best friends Mike. The next round was about to begin and the pairings were called, "Michael Bluestein vs. Joe Scer. " The match of the night was about to begin where it's Jinzo vs. his maker! Round 3: The Trap Deck vs. Michael Bluestein (ran a Spellcaster/Fiend Beatdown w/ Jinzo [ahh!!!]) I knew how this was going to go. I told Mike good luck on getting out Jinzo, no one has yet... He said, "let's start this!" For the record, I hate Injection Fairy Lily! The duel began and I set my Imperial Order, Mirror Force, Fake Trap, Waboku, and Seven Tools of the Bandit. I ended my turn. He summoned a Gemini Elf and he attacked. Waboku... He knew what he was about to enter! He laid 3 cards face down. Mike also activated his Yami field card, boosting Gemini Elf to a 2100 attacking monster. It still fell to my Goblin Attack Force. But that didn't stop it. For the first time ever, someone pulled out Jinzo on me. Mike activated Call of the Haunted on Gemini. I figured that I'd save my 7 Tools. I felt like a chump after his next play by offering Gemini Elf for Jinzo. Normally, I'd just kill Jinzo w/ Solemn Judgement, but not this time. He killed the Goblin. I was then let out to dry... The next duel is why I hate the Injection Fairy Lily... Even though I won this match, I hate that Injection!!! That sorry ____ (gotta keep this clean for the kids at home) lost me the final match, but I smoked Mike this duel with superier traps and monsters. The next match was the longest ever. No matter what Mike played, I had a counter. Then he pulled that _____ of an Injection ______'n Lily. I fell to the massive LP payments. That woman is an evil Son of a _____. Mike slaughtered me with that thing. It is a beast! Well, theres the tournament. For a Rouge deck, I did quite well. Props and Slops time: Props ---For getting another Don Zaloog (only one more for 3!) ---For finally seeing my 3rd favorite card's picture, the Chaos Emperor Dragon - Messenger of the End! Slops ---To the major therapy hours for Zoltan... ---To that Blasted Jinzo... ---To Fox 29 for cancelling Family Guy (Blast!)!!! ---And to Injection Fairy Lily, blast her and her big @$$ needle! ---Joe aka TheNinthCrow
