Round 1:

M and M Sports Cards, San Leandro

Duel 1 : Me (Bandit Keif) vs. Rodel (K Force Legendary Fisherman)

First I would like to congradulate Rodel for making a kick ass Dragon Deck that won the first 2 duels against me. Or should I say he just warmed me up for my next 3 victories in a row. The duels today was 3 out of 5 because the prize was one box. Rodel stood up to his K Force title and proved that he is truly Ultra – Rare, it’s true, it’s true.

Rodel stood at his end of the dueling field surrounded by kids (and his son Alex) watching his life points at 1,200. True to my mysterious dueling style I prefer the wall with only the Duke of K Force One watching (Ricky) my life point meter at 6,300. The kids saw that I had a Witch in attack mode that just did some damage to his life points and set one trap face down. Rodel drew his card and the kids went wild!!! They couldn’t hold their enthusiasm and hide the precursor to the oncoming attack. I see a Lord of Dragons hit the field, clad in his dragon armor. I see the flute materialize in front of him, I check my trap but it wasn’t what I needed, maybe. The trap could hold off a Blue Eyes, I know I could use Call of the Haunted on the Barrel Dragon to save me some life… my train of thought cuts off there.

The Legendary Blue Eyes White Dragon was summoned. It stood tall on the field shining its glory and power with every serpentine move it made. The kids stare in awe of the creature that they gave up on so long ago. The Dragon was just too hard to summon. It takes skill, it takes intelligence and most of all K Force ingenuity. I hastily use Call of the Haunted to protect myself, then I see that doing that was my downfall. Another dragon hit the field after the Blue Eyes, it was darker red in color, it was the Tyrant Dragon. The proceeding blasts of fire and lightning were unimaginable. Game.

The first two duels went something like that, I won the next 3. Good job Rodel, but this Halo Halo of a deck is going all the way today.

Round 2:

      San Leandro

Duel 2: Me (Bandit Keif) vs. Terry? Teri? Terri? Tery? Terry?

She wins, I win, she wins, I win, the deciding duel went kind of like this (notice the pattern? It should have been her turn to win…). She’s at low 800 life points, I’m at a dangerous 100. I have monster set and one trap set. She summons a Bazoo and it eats 2 “eggs” from the graveyard. She hesitates on the attack, looking at the trap, but it was end game. Playing it safe can get her killed if I get to go onto my turn, she knows it too. The pressure builds and manifests itself as the loudest move announcement I’ve ever heard.

She screams at the top of her lungs, “ATTACK!!!” Her Bazoo runs into a Cyber Jar. The Bazoo slowly looks down at the broken jar it just attacked and sees red numbers counting down in a digital box inside the jar 3, 2, 1… The explosion gives the Bazoo a quick and humane death. I don’t remember the magics that she got from Cyber Jar, but after all the pressure built up inside of her, these new cards and their new irresistible options became the turning point of the game for me.

The Field: (all monsters attack position) (her battle phase)

Her monsters from Cyber Jar:   Spear Dragon (1900)   Kycoo (1800)                                                              Her playable traps:                    - none -

My monsters from Cyber Jar:    Kycoo (1800)              Guardian of the Throne Room (1650)

            My playable traps:                    Reinforcements (+500)

Her life points: 800       Mine: 100

She attacks Kycoo with the Spear Dragon, I Reinforcements. She loses 400 life points, life points wasn’t the only thing she lost that move, she lost her cool. After losing half her life points to battle, she went to the powerful magic cards in her hand to save her. Main phase 2 she does something, out of fear. My turn, summon the Fourth tool and Rip the Kycoo for 400. Game.

Finals:

Duel 3: Ricky the Duke of K Force One made it along side me. We play each other enough as it is. We split the box and make our exit. Oh and to those who “Don’t like groups because we take tournaments.” Backup is the Second Tool of the bandit.
