Pre-Tourney
My friend Robbie came over to my house the night before. We ordered stuffed
crust pizza, played some practice duels, and got some shut-eye. In the morning,
my mom drove us to the tourney and we arrived at about 9:30. The store was
already packed. We paid our $5 to enter, and I went into the movie theater
(where the actual tourney is held) while Robbie bought Exiled Force and Kycoo.
We met up with Garrett and Cody and helped them set up the tables. Then the
pairings were announced and the tourney began..
Round 1
Me vs. Luke
Duel 1
I have never seen this guy before. He wasn't too good, though. I mean, he
set a Raigeki. Anyway, he started by summoning an 1800 and setting most of
what remained of his hand down on the field. I summoned GAF, MST'd something
(Lightforce Sword, I think), and attacked. He couldn't do anything and I
summoned a Bazoo, powered it up to 2200, and hit him directly. The rest of the
game is a blur, but I do remember that I Yata-locked him.

This time, I hit him wiht a Gemini early, then hit him with Gemini and
Kycoo on the next turn. He forfeited, on the grounds that he didn't have any
monsters to summon.

Robbie beat some n00b named Sean, and the Big 3 (Cody, Garrett, and Nick)
all won their matches. Robbie now had to face a friend of ours named
Jonathan.

Me vs. Arturo
Duel 1
I was able to get a good look at Arturo's strategy before this match
started. Apparently, he runs an odd GB-Beatdown hybrid. Anyway, I don't remember
too much of this match. My memory is very inconsistent.

Me vs. David
Duel 1
This guy is one of my several arch-rivals. In the only two times I have
faced him, he swept me both times. This match was very different. He hit me
early on with his Gemini attacking my Kycoo, and then Gemini attacking me
directly next turn. Then I somehow hit him for 6200 in one turn, and he barely
touched me after that.

I can't remember anything about this duel, except that it was much like the
first; he hit me early on, I took the lead in the mid-game and won.

The Big 3 all won and I was now in the semi-finals. Cody was playing Nick
while I had to face Garrett.

Duel 1
He Delinquent Duo'd me twice (thanks to MoF) and Yata-locked
me.

He Duo'd me twice this duel too. Were it not for that darned Yata, I would

Aftermath
I think Nick won the tourney, but I can't really remember for sure.
Afterwards, I bought a Spear Dragon for $15. I pulled a Pot of Greed from my TP,
which I later gave away to some 5th grader who lives across the street from me.
I played a match with him after I got home and I beat him 2 to 1. Here's how
that match went.

Me vs. Tyler
Duel 1
This was a close match, but he shut me down with those danged Trap Holes. I
am the basis for all the strategy this kid knows and about half of his deck,
too. Anyway, I just had horrible draws and he kept pummeling me with 1800s
equipped with Nuzzlers.
