I'll swap The Rock Spirits for a couple of Don Zaloog's, take out Waboku for Ring of Destruction, and somehow find room for Sasuke Samurai. I put in two Spear Dragons, although they aren't Warriors. I also took out Cyber Jar, since I was tired of giving my opponent five extra cards to destroy me with, and replaced it with good ol' Fiber Jar. Lastly, I put in one of my favorite cards (which also gives me protection): Kuriboh! As for the tournament, there weren't as many people this week as usual, but I don't have a problem with that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Round Me vs ????? I still don't know most of the people here, but whatever. As soon as I saw this guy put Umi on the field, I figured I wouldn't have too many problems. I drew a lot of removal cards, which cleared the way for my Gearfried the Iron Knight. I used Reinforcement of the Army to search out Marauding Captain, summoned it along with Spear Dragon and finished the match (we still play with 6000 LP). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Round Me vs ????? My next opponent happened to have a pretty well-built Exodia Deck, so I knew I'd have to hit hard and fast. He set a couple of Trap Cards and ended turn, so I used Heavy Storm and drew quite a few cards, thanks to Pot of Greed and Graceful Charity. I used Delinquent Duo, but all I destroyed was Fissure and Painful Choice. I summoned Marauding Captain with Goblin Attack Force and took away a lot of his LP. He tried using his other Fissure, but I activated Imperial Order, so all he did was set a monster. Once I drew Change of Heart, it was all over. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Semi-Final Round Me vs Sean Well, I'm pretty sure that's his name, anyway. He had some kind of a Warrior Deck, but I noticed quite a few non-Warriors, so I don't know. Since we were past the second round, we had to win 2 out of 3 to advance. He started off by destroying my hand with The Forceful Sentry and Delinquent Duo. I was sure I'd lost already, but I managed to hold my own by hitting his DEF Goblin Attack Force with my Spear Dragon and then protecting my Spear Dragon with Imperial Order. I knew he didn't have anything good set in his Magic/Trap slots, so I continued to take the offensive with Spear Dragon and The Rock Spirit, which eventually won me the duel. The second duel was a lot longer. I used Delinquent Duo on him and summoned Gearfried the Iron Knight, but he brought out his Gemini Elf and eliminated my Iron Knight. I drew one of my Reinforcement of the Army and searched out Goblin Attack Force, which I used to destroy his Gemini Elf. He set a monster and ended turn, but I had zero removal, so I summoned Spear Dragon and attacked his Fiber Jar (at least I got that 1400 LP hit). I couldn't summon again, but I used Pot of Greed to expand my options. I set Waboku and ended turn, then activated it to ensure myself at least one turn of survival. I removed pretty much everything on his field with Harpie's Feather Duster and Dark Hole, used Delinquent Duo again and attacked with Gearfried the Iron Knight. He set a monster and ended turn, and once again I'd used all my removal, so all I could do was attack it. Once again, it was Fiber Jar! I didn't draw as good of a hand as I would have liked, and I'd already used Delinquent Duo twice in vain, so I set Sangan and ended turn. My Sangan got hit with a Raigeki, which I used to search for Kuriboh, then I got nailed for 2300 LP with Goblin Attack Force. I decided to save my Kuriboh 'til I was on the edge of losing, but it turned out I didn't need to. I drew Graceful Charity, discarded Goblin Attack Force and Injection Fairy Lily, then removed my Goblins from the game to special summon The Rock Spirit that I drew. Once I tributed The Rock Spirit for Jinzo, I removed it from the game to special summon The Rock Spirit that had been in my hand! Now that I could kill his Goblins and hit his LP, it was finally all over. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Final Round Me vs Ted The guy that was heading the tournament forgot about poor Ted, so he got to skip ahead to the finals, seeing as how everyone else had been eliminated. Besides, he would'a won anyway; he's even better than I am. It usually comes down to me and Ted in tournaments, so the only surprise was that I'd made it this far. Our first duel started off pretty well, with neither of us being able to gain the upper hand. I'm not sure how this duel went, but after a while everything on my field got destroyed and I was being handed my first loss of the day. The second round was a lot more straightforward. I mangaed to defend myself with Waboku, then Cyber Jar was flipped and things started looking up. Ted got Gemini Elf and Spear Dragon on the field, staring down my Marauding Captain and Kuriboh, but it was my Magic Cards that made things so good. I used Creature Swap to trade his Gemini Elf for my DEF Kuriboh, used Change of Heart on his Spear Dragon, equipped Premature Burial to Jinzo, removed Gearfried the Iron Knight from the game to special summon The Rock Spirit and finished the duel in one massive strike! Well, we'd each won one, so this was it. Ted started off with The Forceful Sentry, which cost me my Gracful Charity, but it just so happened that I drew my second one. I killed his 1900 ATK Bazoo the Soul-Eater with Goblin Attack Force, then felt the pain when he summoned Spear Dragon to take out my DEF Goblins. I drew Delinquent Duo to eliminate his Heavy Storm and Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, then took out his Spear Dragon with Witch of the Black Forst and attacked directly with Marauding Captain. However, he used Raigeki to clear out my attackers and nailed me with a Gemini Elf. Luckily, I had Snatch Steal in my hand, which Ted had forgotten about since using The Forceful Sentry on me. I equipped Snatch Steal to Gemini Elf, summoned Yata-Garasu, and that ended our duel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amazingly, I'd made it to first place! I used the $25.00 gift certificate to get a couple of cards and a LoD pack, which I pulled Injection Fairy Lily from (it was a very lucky day)! I also got to choose a free T-Shirt, and I got one with Cloud from Kingdom Hearts, since there's no character better than Cloud Strife! Pros for the Day -winning the tournament -completing my Deck (for now) -pulling Injection Fairy Lily -getting a free T-Shirt Cons for the Day -having to attack my own Kuriboh As always, if anyone has any questions or suggestions, feel free to E-Mail me at mfillman125@msn.com anytime!
