There were a lot of people who had very rare cards and were using them effectively, so I knew it wasn't gonna be a Tournament full of inexperienced little kids. There was an entry fee of $6.00, but you get a pack of your choice no matter how you do in the Tournament, and the 1st place prize was a $25.00 gift certificate. Oh, and for some reason, you start off with only 6000 Life Points. Round 1 Me vs ??? I thought I was finished right here. I drew 4 Magics and Imperial Order, so my confidence in not being slaughtered was dwindling fast. My opponent got a Jinzo on the field and uber-fied him with an Axe of Despair and Mage Power (+1500 thanks to his face-down card). He hit me for 4900 damage, and with the cards in my hand I knew I'd won. I wasn't sure whether or not I should bother Typhooning his face-down card since Jinzo was on the field, but I figured I'd play it safe, and it was a good move since it turned out to be Offerings to the Doomed. Once that was out of the way, I equipped Snatch Steal and United We Stand to his Jinzo, summoned Sangan, and wiped him out with 7500 damage! Round 2 I guess I was odd-man out on this one, 'cause next thing I know I'm goin' to the third round, where you have to win two out of three! Round 3 Me vs ??? I should start learning who people are around here. Anyway, it started off pretty great for me. I used Giant Trunade and Dark Hole to clear my way for an attack by my Marauding Captain and Hayabusa Knight. He summoned Asura Priest to take down both of my Warriors, but I activated Fairy Box and reduced the attack to 0, destroying his Asura Priest and giving him another 1200 damage. This is where things kinda went awry. My two Warriors got killed (don't recall how) and I had Cyber Jar set on the field. Once I flipped it, I drew nothing but Magics and my Time Wizard. Since he saw my Snatch Steal, he put all his monsters face-down. I only had one choice... use Time Wizard's effect! Since I got slaughtered the following turn, guess how that turned out? The second match was nowhere near as close. He cleared my field PDQ and let me have it with Jinzo and Goblin Attack Force. Oh, well... I had fun! I pulled Dark Spirit of the Silent from my pack, which isn't too bad, I guess. My friend Manuel, who I went to the Tournament with, lost a few minutes before I did and pulled his own Injection Fairy Lily! Hopefully I'll return next week... especially since there's someone who has the last set of Magnet Warriors that I need! Pros for the Day -getting to the third round -pulling a Super Rare Cons for the Day -calling Time Wizard's effect wrong ('cause it wasn't holo!) -not being able to get those Magnet Warriors! Now that I have a holo Time Wizard, I know I cannot fail! Once I manage to get that last set of Magnet Warriors, I will make Magnet Decks something to fear! =D If anyone has any questions or suggestions, feel free to E-Mail me a mfillman125@msn.com anytime!
