Most of them were newbies or half decent players. Nothing special here. The lack of players also attributed for the lack in prize money. The tourney was run like the rest, three round of 2/3 duels. If you won in you got three points. Beating the first two games ranked higher than winning the first and last games. After the first three rounds of this the players with the highest go into the top 8 for an elmination round. The second was a tad bit hard but I finished it off in a few, quick swipes. This was also the guy who beat me and my bro in the first tourney. Game 2 1st Me: 8000 Michael: 8000-6200-3300-2200-0 2nd Me: 8000-5500-4800 Michael: 8000-6200-3400-450-0 Comments: N/A Game 3 1st Me: 8000-7000 Neal: 8000-3200-0 2nd Me: 8000-7500-7100 Neal: 8000-5500-3000 Comments: This is my brother. He's decent but I knew his deck, obviously, and creamed him pretty bad. Probably the quickest game here. End of first three round. I made it in with 9 points and my bro made it in with 6 points. Top 8 Game 1 1st Me: 8000-7000-6100-5200-4300-3725-2825 Ventura: 8000-6000-5350-1400-0 2nd Me: 8000-6600-5400-4600-4100-3900-3600-2400-0 Ventura: 8000-7300-6200-5400-3600-1800-1750-850 3rd Me: 8000-7500 Ventura: 8000-5900-2850-850-0 Comments: Ugh, my only lost in this whole tournament. The second game I thought I had in the bag...nope. This time he played hard and annoying. He used lots of m/ts like Trap Hole, Torrential Tribute, and Mirror Wall to just tick the heck outta me. The main strategy I had here was to just keep it up and I ended up on top. Game 2 1st Me: 8000-7000-4400 Micheal (another one): 8000-6900-7400-4900-5400-5900-6400-5100-5600- 6100-6600-8100-7600- 8100-5600-3800-100-0 2nd Me: 8000 Micheal: 8000-6200-800-0 Comments: Well, guess what card he used in duel one. Also, there was a mistake in duel one, I added too much one time. Good thing that didn't cost me the game, it could have. Annoying Solemn Wishes, that's it. He prohibited HFD and I happened to take out all my m/t removals except that one. -_- Still won though. Game 3 1st Me: 8000-7950 Neal: 8000-6200-4400-3600-2500-0 2nd Me: 8000-7300-6300-5600-4900-3900-3850 Neal: 8000-8550-6100-1600-800-0 Comments: Yes, my brother again. He put up a better fight this time but ended up losing. Most of the damage in the second duel is due to my IO and Dark Elf, though. I won and got $50. What I Bought Hulk Comic 9 packs of YGO (3 PSV, 3 LON, 3 LOD) and only got two crappy super rares 2 Scourge packs (nothing special either) An $8 Bazoo (not bad around here) Trades (This is where I shined) -I give Sieyaryu + Black Skull Dragon for 1st ed. Nobleman of Crossout and 1st Goblin Attack Force -I give Suijin for Graceful Charity + Pot of Greed (not that great but I had to hurry and I got decent cards) -I give LOB Dark Magician for Raigeki So I got 1st and my bro got 2nd. Not bad but this is mostly because of the lack of challenge. I'm glad I got some better cards now. You will see a bit of an improvement in my deck next tournament. I do believe I will have some competition next time as better players (more like players with better cards) may show up (I got lucky this time) as well as my best opponent here is working on a GB/MoP deck and he has a month to do so. Hmm... Props: -Pretty decent trades -I got first, yay!!!! -My bro got 2nd -I went 12-1 Slops: -I won because no good challenge was there -The prize was downgraded from $70 to $50 because the lack of players -Horrible pulls in both my MTG and YGO packs -YGO is still too hard in real life to create a deck you want (rarity is boosted too high)
