Deck Name: Exile Jeston Dulin Bullpups Bedford, Iowa Prizes: Everyone who enters gets a pack of Pharoah's Servant, winner gets a can of soda, another Pharoah's Servant pack, and a random Ultra Rare/Super Rare card. Number of people competing: 12 Cost to enter: $4 Time: 1:00 P.M. Date: Feb. 8, 2003 This was an unofficial tournament, with strange rules. It was double elimination. If you lost, you had to beat everyone in the loser's bracket, then defeat the person who was in second place to win first. Needless to say, it was a long tournament. Monsters (21): x1 Cyber Jar x1 Witch of the Black Forest x1 Jinzo x1 Barrel Dragon x2 Banisher of the Light x2 Goblin Attack Force x2 Summoned Skull x2 Sangan x3 Wall of Illusion x3 Magician of Faith x3 Man-Eater Bug Magic (12): x1 Dark Hole x1 Monster Reborn x1 Change of Heart x1 Pot of Greed x1 Raigeki x1 Swords of Revealing Light x1 Gravekeeper's Servant x2 Axe of Despair x3 Fissure Trap (9): x1 Mirror Force x1 Ceasefire x1 Imperial Order x1 Seven Tools of the Bandit x1 Magic Jammer x1 Shadow of Eyes x1 Trap Hole x2 Solemn Judgment Okay, I went to Bullpups at noon, expecting to be the only person THAT early. Turns out half the tourney players are already there! Everyone is expecting me to win, and before I left my house, my dad told me "Don't go there thinking you'll be the winner, or you'll get your @$$ handed to you."(I'm trying to use good censorship here) and I trust almost everything my dad tells me. Two of my best friends were there, Ronny and Derek. Derek's kind of a newbie, but he's got lotsa money so he'll do okay. He's also got a great lot of beginner's luck (he started collecting three days ago and defeated 3 out of 6 duelists. When he first started out, we went down to a local gas station to buy him some cards. In the packs, the rares where the following: Beast of Talwar, Dark Magician (LOB version), um..... and some others that were pretty good. He traded his Beast of Talwar to Ronny, but that's beside the point.) Right before the tourney started, Derek bought his first Starter Deck; the Yugi one, as I suggested to him, as it's got the Summoned Skull. Then Ronny and I had to convince him to enter the tournament, which he did. In the pack he got, the rare was a Fairy Meteor Crush, which made Ronny rather upset, as everyone else got jack-$#!+ in our packs. About everyone else there were snot-nosed weaklings. Round #1: Rude Kaiser V.S. Exile This kid's name was Will. He was several months older than me, and yet, he was several feet shorter than me (j/k, but seriously, he was pretty short). His favorite card was *snigger* the Rude Kaiser *chuckle, chuckle, snort*. He had three of them in his hastily-put together deck. Needless to say, he died a horrible, miserable death at the hands of Exile's great power. Hoohah! Round #2: Happy Days V.S. Exile This kid's name was Curtis. He looked suspiciously like Potsie off of "Happy Days," but that's beside the point. At first I expected a small challenge, but another easy victory *sigh* will I ever have any fun? And he was the second kid that day to ask what Cyber Jar did...... Ooooookay..... *cough, cough* I fear I'm getting the dreaded newbie-itis! *cough, cough*. Round #3: I Got A Bye!! Yipee!!!! Side Duel: Dark Magician Defender V.S. Freaky Deck That Used To Be A Toon Deck Until The Guy That Uses It Read Somewhere That Toons Cost A Lot Derek was the Dark Magician Guy. He had the Ultimate Defense when I went over to see him. His field was: x2 Harpies Brother, DNA Surgery, Insect Barrier, and x2 Ground Collapse. Whenever David (The former Toon guy) played Monster Reborn to bring back his BEWD, Derek said, and I quote: "Okay, so he's a bug and he can't move. What else is new?" which caused everyone to break out laughing. Derek ended up losing the duel, as he couldn't do much with his M/T spaces filled up, so he ran out of cards. Round #4: Mishmash V.S. Exile Looks like I'm up against Ron, I thought. He has a deck composed of bad cards that go extremely well together. Before the duel, he asked me if I wanted him to throw the game. If he did, I would have to pay a price. I shrugged my shoulders. At the end of the duel, he said that he threw the game, but I don't really think he did.... I basically got out my Jinzo w/ Barrel Dragon and wiped him out. About halfway through the duel, Derek said left, as his ride had come to pick him up. He lives in a town about seven miles away called Gravity. Don't drive too fast, or you'll miss it. After that, the loser's bracket had to find a winner, so I just waited patiently and watched the duels (I was a judge as well as a competitor. Strange, isn't it?) Round #5: Mishmash V.S. Exile Again?! I have to face Ron again?! Geez..... Anyhow, Ronny asked to throw the duel again, and I shrugged my shoulders again. So, after the duel, he told me that he threw the duel again. Yet again, I didn't believe him. I got a Hayabusa Knight in my first pack and a Gravity Bind in the pack I won. I also won a Code Red Mountain Dew and a LOB Mystical Elf. Not much, really.
