Subject: Clown Control Twisted Otis-Style Stephen Antioch CA Clown Control Twisted Otis-Style Cards of Antioch Antioch, CA February 15, 2003 Well, my deck is still not completely switched over to complete clown control, but it is really close and any extra stuff fits in fairly nicely for stalling anyways. Monsters: 17 Dream Clown x3 Crass Clown x1 (damn, can't pull the bastards) Giant Soldier of Stone x2 Hayabusa Knight x2 White Magical Hat x1 Man Eater Bug x1 Cyber Jar x1 Sangan x1 Witch of the Black Forest x1 4 Starred Ladybug of Doom x1 (saved me many a time) Jirai Gumo x1 (Well, its a wall) Summoned Skull x1 Mask of Darkness x1 Magic: 14 Malevolent Nuzzler x1 Horn of the Unicorn X1 (Will both be traded for Axe's when I get them. Raigeki x1 Dark Hole x1 Messenger of Peace x1 Pot of Greed x1 Prohibition x1 Change of Heart x1 Monster Reborn x1 Heavy Storm x1 (Can be bad, but don't have any Mystical Space Typhoons) Swords of Revealing Light x1 Nobleman of Extermination x1 Deliquent Duo x1 The Shallow Grave x1 Traps: 9 Gravity Bind x3 Mirror Force x1 Magic Drain x1 Imperial Order x1 Solemn Judgement x1 Dust Tornado x1 Waboku x1 Anyways, prizes are as follows (there were 20 people there) 1st: 3 packs of choice 2nd: 2 packs of choice 3rd: 1 pack of choice Each duel is two out of three rounds to win the match. You have to lose 2 matchs to be eliminated. After half the people are eliminated, it goes to single elimination, best 2 out of 3. On to the duels 1st match: Me vs. Noobie Duel 1:Was a really easy match, the kid said he was good, but he didn't seem to know how to use half his cards. I got out a Dream Clown with a gravity bind early and he couldn't do anything to win. Duel 2: Same thing 2nd Match: Me vs. Some beatdown kid Duel 1: I start off with very few monsters in my hand and a messenger of peace. He dark holes my only monsters and in the next turn gets out Summoned Skull with a Nuzzler. I'm forced to use Messenger of Peace to Protect me. He seemed to think that losing 100 LP's per turn was going to kill me. Well, it did take me many rounds to get out any clowns, but I was far from dead. I finally got a Dream Clown and a Gravity Bind and from there I brought out my white magical hat and hayabusas to win. Duel 2: Quicker this time, he goes first. I draw Raigeki on first turn, but I hold on to it and play Soldier in defence. He brings out another level 4 monster and atacks, but doesn't beat the soldier. I then lay my 4-starred ladybug and wait for a good opportunity. Next turn, indeed, he lays another level 4 monster and attacks my ladybug and all his monsters die. I then bring out dream clown and set a mirror force and gravity bind. He tries to kill my dream clown but I just Mirror Force it and from there I owned it. 3rd Match: Me vs. my Friend Man, this guy I can never beat in tournaments. I don't know what it is about him in tournaments, but he is good under pressure. Duel 1: I get my gravity bind and a couple clown in opening hand. The rest is gravy. I got control with gravity bind and owned the field for the rest of the match. Duel 2: This duel was hard. I thought I was getting fairly well set with some weenies and a gravity bind. However, he playes Dark Hole AND Heavy Storm and clears the field for direct damage. I can't draw anything that will help me so I throw some monsters in defence to guard life points until I draw another gravity bind. I finally get a clown and hayabusa and a giant soldier out, but he uses snatch steal on my clown and kills my hayabusa. By that time he had about 2 monsters out on the field and both of our life points were very low, but I pull my saving grace, RAIGEKI. I clear his side and i wipe out his remaining life points. Now, it was time for single elimination time. 4th match Me vs. John (Relinquished kid) I knew he loved Relinquished, so I was kind of scared. Duel 1: My draw is cool, I immiedietely get Prohibition and block the damn Relinquished. Aww, he was pissed at that. I blocked his attacks with gravity bind and got a few blows in until he managed to get rid of a monster then play 2 freaking grownd collapses on me and a solemn wishes which he used for a couple turns to get healthy again. I'm forced to play Heavy storm to be able to do anything, but that opens me up to attacks without gravity bind and my prohibition was gone. Next turn he busts out his prized Relinquished and absorbed my hayabusa with malevolent nuzzler, but I waboku the damage(i had no other monsters to defend) Next turn I pull Dark Hole and clear the field to finish him with giant soldier. Duel 2:Much shorter this time, he couldn't do anything to me. Either I raigekied him, or I mirror forced his attack, or I activated Gravity bind. A good game for me 5th match (Semifinals) Me vs. My Friend (again) Well, since he didn't lose against anyone else before now, he made it into single elimination. It kinda sucked fighting him agian. Duel 1: I got owned, he got out a Summoned Skull early and I tried to counter with crass clown, but he snatch stole it and used it as tribute for buster blader and then activated DNA Surgury for dragons! (My first loss of the day) Duel 2: Opposite, I owned him early Duel 3: Oh man, the most intense match of the entire day. We trade off blows, He got rid of my gravity binds a couple of times, but I managed to hold onto my control a little, and wiped out his forces with my ladybug :P. However, when I thought I had the game won, he pulled dark hole and cleared the field, then did direct damage to me. I was down to 400 lp and he was at about 3000 lp. I played a dream clown with a gravity bind and solemn judgement face down. He played change of heart, I solemn judgemented it, bringing me to 200 lp. However, next turn I get hayabusa knights, and I activate gravity bind and actually came back to win. Finals: Me vs. Some Beatdown Kid (again) Man, I don't know how he made it here. He wasn't even a challenge except for his game remove traps(who plays those anymore) oh well, i just did prohibition remove trap for the hell of it and owned both matches taking my first win at a tournament. My packs were alright, I didn't get too much, but I did get a Polymerization, which I'll probably trade away for some good stuff. Props: My awesome Twisted Clown deck :D My friends for being there. For winning the tournament. For the shop owner rooting for me to win. Slops: Me facing my friend twice. Not having my deck fully completed yet. For being hecka hungry after the tournament. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus
