It's been a long time since my last report, but I had the worst case of stolen cards... In any case, I'm back and recovering from my losses. I used an old-school, shiny, no commons, beatdown deck: --18 Monsters-- 3 Kycoo The Ghost Destroyer 1 Bazoo The Soul-Eater 2 Magician of Faith 2 Opticlops 1 Thunder Nyan-Nyan 1 Cyber Jar 1 Man-Eater Bug (Holo, yep, it's the same one) 1 Sinister Serpent 1 Yata-Garasu 1 Goblin Attack Force 1 Witch of the B. Forest 1 Skilled Dark Magician 1 Airknight Parshath 1 Summoned Skull (Shiny!) --18 Magics-- 1 Pot of Greed 2 Scapegoat 1 Monster Reborn 1 Dark Hole 1 Raigeki 1 Premature Burial 1 Card Destruction 1 United We Stand 1 Magepower 3 Axe of Despair 1 Snatch Steal 1 Delinquent Duo 1 Nobleman of Crossout (1 went "missing" before the Tourney ;_;) 1 Change of Heart 1 Exchange 1 Heavy Storm --11 Traps-- 1 Imperial Order 3 Torrential Tributes (Yay! I achieved one of my goals!) 1 Magic Jammer 1 Seven Tools of the Bandit 1 Call of the Haunted 1 Ceasefire 1 Mirror Force 1 Ring of Destruction 1 Bottomless Traphole ...and made it into the semi-semi-finals. I never pull anything good from boosters, but I have bullsh-- luck in dueling! =P I feel like posting my list of cards stolen up to this day: --Rest in Peace (T_T = Crying face)-- Injection Fairy Lily (T_T) 2 Raigekis (T_T T_T) Mirror Force (T_T T_T) Nobleman of Crossout (T_T) Axe of Despair (T_T) Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer (Bah...) Bysershock (Who cares? Most crappy ultra-rare in my opinion) Premature Burial (T_T) Change of Heart (shiny... T_T) Harpie's Feather Duster (T_T) Goblin Attack Force (T_T) Sasuke Samurai (Pronounced "Sah-Soo-Keh" for you lingual squabblers) (T_T) Gemini Elf (T_T) 7 Magician of Faiths (T_T) 3 Imperial Orders (T_T) Valkyrion the Magna Warrior (T_T) Blue Eyes White Dragon (LOB) (T_T) and rest in peace to the stacks of commons and rares unlisted... And a final tribute to my stolen first card. This happened when my mom's friend's son came over and shamelessly took my first card ever pulled from my dueling career and almost ripped my dueling spirit apart for eternity. He later admitted the truth (for which I'm thankful) but had lost the card at the airport when he saw his mom off (she was going on a trip). R.I.P. 1st Edition Dark Magician (LOB) 2002~2003 "You will always be my heart of the cards." ... ... ... BLARGH! This is supposed to be a tourney report! *slaps face* ... For my first round, I was against Adam Holloway, a pessimistic duelist who fears me (I face him in the school cafeteria all the time and win all the time). As it is, I wasn't worried, and here are the results for the first match. Duel 1: Alex Im (Cocky) vs Adam Holloway (Scared) Alex Adam 8000 8000 5100 6000 4100 5900 1600 2600 0 I drew Torrential Tribute so I did what I always do: Stall for a few turns groaning how I don't have any monsters! Then when he lays down his 3rd monster, Torrential his arse. He swore colourfully then ended his turn. I brought out my monsters and whooped his arse, Ceasefired his facedown Magician of Faith, and Call of the Haunted a Thunder Nyan Nyan when he almost killed me. Duel 2: Alex (COCKY!) vs Adam (SCARED!) Alex Adam 8000 8000 7000 4400 4300 0 I'm not gonna bother, because it ended in 4 turns. I owe this victory to the Card of the Day reviewer Nick's unfairly and demonicly strong card: Ph34r Teh |)3linqu3nT |)u0! Mweh heh heh heh hehhh... For my second round, I was up against a Falcon style beatdown deck. And so, it HAD to be Hayabusa Knights. Duel 1: Alex (...?) vs Mike Mills (-_- No emotion.) Alex Mike 8000 8000 2000 550 Yep, that's right. O_o!!!!! 6000 damage. I blame it on my monster drought caused by all my stolen cards! (See above list) Duel 2: Alex (>_<) vs Mike (-_- No emotion.) Alex Mike 8000 8000 7000 6200 2700 1900 1700 1200 This was a close call. He attacked me with those darn Falcon Knights powered up with axes. I blocked with my traumatized Scapegoats, and got my Kycoo to pound away relentlessly with my equips. However, it turned around again as he managed to bring out a bigger Falcon Knight, but it turned around again when I played Snatch Steal. Adrenaline kept me pumping with excess excitement, but Mike is one of the poker faced duelists who show good sportsmanship even in dire circumstances of life threatening decisions. T'was a good game. Duel 3: Alex (O_o I lived?!) vs Mike (-_- No emotion.) Alex Mike 8000 8000 7200 6200 6200 1200 This was a fast beatdown as I "Snatch Stole" (hee hee, I made new word!) his powered Hayabusa Knight in the end. Good game Mike. Third Round: The Semi-Semi-Finals Alex vs GREG NAUTH (dun dun duuunnnn!) This man... My senior... This happy-go-lucky duelist who destroyed me in previous tournaments. The time I had the monster drought. The time I had nothing but good magic cards. The time... The time... is now. As invisible lightning swiftly cracked through the invisible sky, the imaginary deafening pounding of invisible imaginary waves rushed through my imaginary mental ears. The invisible roaring fire blazed around us as we clashed with what seemed a friendly smile. We traded blows with increasing laughter and finally took our seats. >Bring it on!< Alex (VENGEANCE!) vs Greg (Wee~) Alex Greg 8000 8000 6600 6000 4200 3200 2200 300 0 I lost pretty bad, but that's because I had that infamous monster drought caused by lack of monsters, obviously. More importantly, they were stolen! >_< Fortunately, I had scapegoats following after scapegoat, so I managed to stall for what seemed an incredible amount of time. Unfortunately, I could not bring out United We Stand for my "School-Cafeteria-Famous-Super-Scapegoat-Hyper-Combo-Finish" attack. Duel 2: Alex (>_<) vs Greg (Wee~) Alex Greg 8000 8000 7000 7000 4200 6200 2300 5200 0 5100 4700 We Delinquent Duo-ed each other and things went along fast. The innards of broken monsters flew out of the battlefield as shards of magic and trap cards raged forth. In other words... I LOST ;_; I'd rather not talk about it. ... ... ... Nosy aren't you? =P He kept removing cards from my hand with Delinquent Duos. Exiled Forced my facedowns, Nobleman of Crossouts on my facedowns, Mirror Forced my 1800s, called down a thunder storm (Raigeki) on my 1900s, Bottomless Trapholed my special summons, and almost got a Yata-Garasu out. (Note for newbies: Yata-Garasu is a fiend spirit monster: When it does direct damage (200 atk), your opponent skips his Draw Phase) I used my Delinquent Duo again when Greg used Witch of the B. Forest to bring out Yata-Garasu. It was total bullcrap (replace crap with ship, replace p with t) luck as he shuffled his hand, and I still picked Yata-Garasu out of the possible 5 cards. Like Greg said, it was a 20% chance. Not good. Nonetheless, it was as if I disabled his preferred method of execution and bit the bullet of a beatdown instead. I received the Tourney pack Season 4... I PULLED THE GREATEST CARDS! ... ... ... ... Rush Recklessly Gravity Bind Mad Sword Beast BOOYA! WOW! AMAZING! OWNAGE! LOL, I never pull anything good except for my first pack ever in any TCG. So, depressed, I went and bought a copy of "Naruto" Volume 1 Graphic Novel even though I downloaded the entire thing from www.suprnova.org using Bit Torrent. Oops... NO I'M NOT A PIRATE! =P Then I went to the family store and opened up a box revealing Shonen Jump magazines! I grabbed a copy of December's issue and thereby became the first teen to get the special promo card inside in this city of Hamilton! Woohoo! If you wanna know what it is, I'll list it in the bottom of this report. Woos and whoas go to: - Mike Mills for putting me on the border of life and death. I love that feeling! - B.J. (or Will) for that duel when we traded insults every single move! It was fun and funny! - Thomas for giving me Skilled Dark Magician for Reinforcements of the Army and retrieving my Bazoo the Soul-Eater from the floor at the end of the Tourney! - Thomas' mom for driving us there! - David C. for tagging along and supporting me! - Russell for being my fan! - Alex H. and Adam H. for your advice and friendship! - My Yu-Gi-Oh!
