I got there a bit early, so i bought myself a bunch of PGD pull a Ring of Destruction, a Question, and a Gaurdian Phinx (though I might be taking that one out). I'm thinking about somehow managing to get another magic jammer in there. After opening all the packs, I traded a bit, though all I got was a Mystical Space Typhoon. Waited a bit, then the tourny started. Round One Nathan vs. some little tyke with 84 cards in his deck. Duel One: I drew Harpies Feather, United, Mage, Injection Fairy, and Raikegi, nice little starting hand. He went first, and tried to throw out Blue Eyes. After paitently explaining why that was wrong, he put down a defense monster and two traps. I drew imperial order, played Harpies, Raikegi, Injection Fairy, United we stand, and mage power, and set imperial order, bringing Injection Fairy to 2700. Add to that her 3000 bonus, and the duel was practically over. He drew another Blue-Eyes, and passed. Hit him again, duel over. 8000-0, in favor of me. Duel Two: Pretty much the same as duel one, he drew many high level monsters, and never got one out. Hit him with Goblin, Spear and Kycoo repeatedly, final score 8000-0, me. Round Two Nathan vs. another little tyke. Duel One: He laid down some pitiful direct damage monster and ended his turn. I got out Injection Fairy, equipped her again, and the duel was in my hands from there. He stalled for a bit with Messenger of Peace, but I drew Mystic Space Typhoon, and finished him off. 8000-0, me. Duel Two: He scared me like no other by getting out Destiny Board and scapegoat his first turn. Fortunatly, he made the stupidest move of the day, and set out a gravity bind just after getting his second letter out. Once I got my mystic space typhoon, it was over. 8000-0, me. Round Three Nathan Vs. Max Max is one of the people there who can really play, and has won more than a few tournys. He uses a strict fast beatdown deck, and it works. Duel One: This one dragged on forever, each of us blocking the others moves with magic jammers and imperial orders. Our monsters were about equal, so we slowly dragged each other down. Finally I maganed to use Snatch Steal and Change of Heart in the same turn, and beat him down. 2300-0, me. Duel Two: This was the fastest duel I've ever seen. First turn, he laid Gemini in attack. I then laid out my Injection Fairy, paid her cost and took out his elf. He then proceded to reborn his elf, play his own Fairy, Change of Heart mine, equip Gemini with Axe of despair, and wiped me out. 0-2500, him. Duel Three: This turned into a repeat of Duel One, but I managed to equip my Goblin with axe o despair, and turned the tide. 3200-0, me. Round Four Nathan Vs. JT JT is one of the premier duelers in Nebraska, and wins the tournyment nearly every week. Lucky for me, he felt like testing a low-level attack deck this week, which wasn't all that great. Duel One and Two: I repeatedly Mystic Space Typhooned his Messenger of Peace and Gravity Binds, and once I got past those he couldn't stand up to my monsters. Both times, the score was 6000-0, me. Semi-Finals Nathan vs. Brian Brian uses one of the coolest decks I've ever seen. He plays 3 gravity binds, 3 Messenger of Peace, 3 scapegoats (I think) and 3 creature swaps. I lost count of the times he would swap me a goat for some good monster of mine. On top of that, before he swapped he would turn the goat to attack mode, and then hit it with whatever he got from me, which got freakishly annoying. This is also the duel I got screwed in. Duel One: He beat me down using his goats fairly well at first, driving me down to 2000 life points, while only losing life for his messenger of peace. Finally I managed to draw Imperial Order, and keep it on the field, so i could use Maruading Captain to destroy some of his monsters. Eventually I couldn't keep Imperial on the field, and he went back to draining me slowly. 6400-0, him. Duel Two: This is where i get screwed over. Earlier in the day our judge had decided that 1000 eyes restrict could not suck up a monster that had an equip card on it. After he tried to suck up my Fairy, with an axe on it, we got into a vehoment arguement with the judge about it, in which he changed his mind and decided to allow it. Well, unknown to us, he also decided not let us have extra time to duel, since we had used so many minutes arguing with him about it. So time ran out. Thankfully, I had more life points at that time, so I got credit for that duel. Both Brian and I were willing to finish the match, but our judge was a jerk, and said he wanted to go home early, so he would decide who won by a coin flip, Well I lost, and so got third. Props: Me for drawing a ring of destruction Both little kids for not crying when they lost (I hate that) Me for not hitting the judge after his reversal of desicions HobbyTown for holding a fairly quality tournament Slops: Judge for reversing his desicion Not getting didly poo from the three packs I won. Some jerk out there who stole my Cherry Pepsi Email is ozmethod_n@hotmail.com if anyone has any comments or suggestions for trimming deck down to size.
