Basically, it has POWER. Look at the lineup, will you? Dark Elves, the original beatstick on drugs... it's basically a Rare or Common, weaker, crack addicted sister of Lily, who is the Secret Rare older, coke-addicted sister. I sold her for cash, though... so no 3400 power here. But my lineup is still strong. Bazoo, the forgotten monkey... cousin of the Berserk Gorrilla... The Goblin Attack Force, which are the Lord of the Rings orcs on serious dosage... and Kcyoos, the ummm... let's not get into it, okay? I have FAST magics packed... only 1 stays on the field, and even that's only as either a last resort or an anti-Jinzo. Offerings and MSTs to take out ugly competition... and my traps either take you out, or have the ability to. Never underestimate Imperial... it can instantly lock down your opponents... $6 to enter Apparently, we're going to have to wait till SEPTEMBER for TP4s... ._. *sigh* Round 1: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. David Well, the kid looked like he was unnerved. Probably by my cool-looking, actually dorky shades... or because I had my hat down over my left eye. I was saving my power, you know... o_\\... ... ... o_@ SHARINGAN!!! ...ehem, or not. But anyway, he looked a little rattled, and kept looking underneath his cards, checking to see that they didn't change on him... then looking down, and looking up at my shades... I wonder if he could see my cards... maybe that's why he was shaking... maybe? ;P Probably not. Well, the first one started out pretty quick. I had a bum Dark Elf just sitting there on the field... I don't remember what it was but something with 1500 defense was sitting on his side of the field because I only had elf and a Witch on the field and I didn't want to pay 1000 life just to get rid of it. If I wanted to commit suicide, I'd just... I don't know, use it to hit Brandon's Spirit Reapers or something... then my Kaiku came out... soon after its death, my Bazoo came out and started the PWNAGE-ing. I only removed 1 at a time, except for some of the later ones. Let me tell you: Bazoo is NOT outdated, just not overpowered as it used to be. Clinch. I breathe in and out loudly. Then I take the hat off. The shades are still on, though, so he can't see my... ...SHARINGAN!!! ...ehem. I use it early to read his moves, but I play so 00ber-ly that I'm handless on turn 2. I always go handless... 'cause I can manage it. I'm not so dumb as to fall for the stupid bird cage... and plus, most people aren't skilled enough to lock me up. Actually, many people are dumb enough not to pack an extra key. That's rule #2... (rule #1 being no Cyber and Yata in the same deck...) Anyhow, I'm topdecking... but it doesn't matter, since I have field advantage. Soon, he falls to a Kcyoo and a Dark Elf. As soon as I tell Serf... well, I don't really tell him... he asks me, and I give him the nod... he calls Bruce to the table. I'm thinking, "Phew. I wonder who Bruce is playing... so many people this week he must've just run out of tables..." ...but no. I'M playing Bruce. Let me tell you a little something about Bruce: He went second last week, taking down giants like Steffon and Jeff(Keif) only losing to Ricky. I was like, WHOA. Well... Round 2: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. Bruce(C^ll^pSe)? Ummm... well, at least I THINK that's his screen name... sorry if it's wrong... *hides self under bed* Heh... Well, anyhow, he's a damn good player to have beaten so many of 'the Greats,' I mean... whoa. So anyway, it turns out I had an extra match, so this is actually round 1. Jeez. Or it means he got a by first round. Whatever, I'm going to show him... and everyone else... REALITY's PEAK. First off, he has a really strange theme-type thing... Gravity Bind, Cannon Soldier, Marauding Captain, Harpie's Brothers... enough to make you go: o_O... more than once. Second, the hat's back on the... SHARINGAN!!! ...ehem, (I have to stop doing that). ._\\ Anyhow, I take a deep breath and we start. I start taking down some of this monsters with Goblins and Elves. That, if you don't know, is called 00ber-PYMP-AGE. Yes, it's true, it's true. So... then, suddenly, he freezes my forces with his binding gravity. Argh. But, thankfully, I have 3 Raigeki Breaks and 2 MSTs. I'll just wait for one. A little bit of this, and a little bit of that... but long story short, and needless to say, it was gone. I took shots at his life and won. CLASSIC duel, the second one was. Remove, attack. Clean up. Lather, rinse, repeat; lather, rinse, repeat; like an endless mindless cycle. I take this and that out with Raigeki Break. And those and these with MSTs, Offerings and Torrentials. I believe he equips something with a UWS but I offer my draw phase to the doomed to prevent it from scratching me. It goes right down to the wire... but any early lead that I might've even had was gone once Cannon Soldier hit the field. Cannon Soldier launch party. Meh. I lose. Gravity Bind was a nuisance again. I try to keep somewhat of field control. Dark Elf got frozen by defense monsters again. It reminded me of this one video game where the enemy just kept summoning monsters unforgivingly, and I had only one thing to kill them with... so I could only kill one at a time, but more would just appear. Numbers... swarms... overwhelming... but my Bazoo came out again. Remove 1, attack. Or not, still attack. Kycoo came out to help him. And eventually, Airknight made his first appearance of the day. It ended once I was able to control the field. And my Imperial Order didn't help him, either. From the turn I first paid the upkeep cost for IO, he only drew magic cards, he showed me later. Never underestimate custom orders... ...or something like that. Round 3: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. Donald(Red XIII) I'm not going to tell you all what happened... but you know what happened. One more thing: Push-ups are only good when they are bras. That is all... SHARINGAN!!! o_@ *hypnotizes you into forgetting everything* Tournament Highlights: -Ummm... well, Reality's Peak went umm... 9-6 this week... so I guess that's pretty good. Cons: -No TP4s. Have to wait till September? No thanks. Pfft. -Did... 10... push-ups... for... losing... ============= ===PART 2:=== ============= ==>3/8/03<== Deck List: Monsters(13): 3x Giant Germ 3x Troop Dragons 2x Spear Dragon Cannon Soldier Sinister Serpent Fiber Jar Cyber Jar Witch of the Black Forest Sangan Magic(20): 3x Mystical Space Typhoon 2x Dark Snake Syndrome 2x The Dark Door 2x Offerings to the Doomed 2x Graceful Charity Painful Choice Mirage of Nightmares Pot of Greed Change of Heart Monster Reborn Dark Hole Raigeki Heavy Storm Harpy's Feather Duster Traps(7): 3x Just Desserts Ceasefire Imperial Order Mirror Force Call of the Haunted This is the second of the 2 part series of decks, Eternity Eight. It's incomplete, and I actually came in Sunday morning with some weirder version of the deck, complete with Limiter Removal, Guardians of the Throne Room... a whole bunch of weird stuff. Half of these things... I don't even know why I'm using them. Jeesh. I guess I had started making a burn deck, found parts of my old machine deck, decided to use parts from that, and started going off on useless tangents. Basically, this is not a deck made to win, but a deck made for... well... I don't know, but I wanted to see how it'd do. Vital Stats: ~Total: 40 Cards ~Deck Name: Eternity Eight ~Deck Theme: Random Cards Thrown in for Stupidity ~Deck Version: 0.5 $6 to enter Pack for entering... Round 1: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. Froilan(froilan) Hmmm... Froilan's a friend of mine. He's a good player, but he's been busy lately with work and stuff, so he might be a little unfamiliar with the current metagame. But still, good players will now and forever be good players. Can't mess with that. Nothing wrong with his deck, his style, and his good nature. He's a nice guy. We dueled for like 20 minutes pre-tournament, and 2 Fiber flips later, I took my loss in strides. But would the tournament be different? I start the game with a few drawing stuff and I start with the Dark Door and a Germ. He puts it in a hole and attacks me directly. I bring back my germ and set another monster. Boom! 2 Germs and another Troop out. My turn, put my germs in DEF mode and I draw one of my key cards: Dark Snake Syndrome. I play it. We go for 3 turns and I flip Fiber Jar. We lost up to 3200 from DSS. It only took a Germ hit and Ceasefire afterwards to end it. Lucky, lucky. This one started out slowly. I got some pretty good just desserts hits in, but nothing much. I had nothing to take out his monsters with, but I was holding out with my ultimate swarm-ish shields. Dark Door PWNz. Period. But soon he Dusted my field and swarmed me with his attackers. Dead. Very close again. I got 2 early Fiber Jar shots in and a couple of tiny Just Desserts shots in. Maybe I _SHOULD_ put L-wall in this deck... it's hard for me to deal with attackers... and I don't much like Dream Clowns either. I also had a DSS going for a couple of turns. But it's close... neck-in-neck. A lucky draw gave me another Just Desserts. He had 3 monsters. Set both. Game. Match, I guess... ...luck. Round 2: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. Rodel(???) Hmmm... I'm 2-0 against Rodel. Meh, I haven't seen him in a while, but I HAD heard of his dragon deck. But, he didn't bring _THAT_ today. Nope, today, he brings the original... the one... the first... (;;-_\\ at least at our store...) ...Gravekeeper deck. I know at least 2 others who are trying to make them: Brandon and Jared. This would be my first taste. He starts off with Necrovalley and 1 magic or trap card, plus 1 set. I start with DSS, Dark Door and I set my Snake. He flips, and it was a Spy. Grr... Spear came out and whacked my life. That's 1750 for you who're counting. Crap. Draw, can't do anything yet. Set Snake. Set OttD. End. His turn, he attacks again. NO! OttD. He lets it go, and chains with Rite of Spirit to get it back! Grrr... I play MST to kill his Valley. I take another 1250. I set Fiber next turn. He attacks, and we restart. Needless to say, I didn't last very long. His Spearman can't be underestimated. I now know that. So he goes first. I go with my Fiber. He flip summons, special summons, normal summons and plays Necro. Ouch. Swarm-age. But he runs into my Fiber. He leaves 1 set. I MST it. It's MST. ;;-_\\ I attack him with a Germ and then set this and that and those. Next turn he plays Necrovalley, and a bunch of stuff... and he tries to attack my Germ with a Chief. But it's blocked by an OttD. My turn. I can't reborn his Chief because of Necrovalley, and so I end. He does some stuff, but he runs into my mini-swarms. I get him down a bit with Just Desserts and clinch it with Ceasefire. Once again I am PWNED by his 2000-ATK Spearmen. Gah, I hate those things. *adds Gravekeeper Spearmen to the LIST, next to furry animals* That's basically the whole story: I had nowhere to run when my defenses were being cut through. Even attacking once per turn won't keep my life up for long. ;_; Tournament Highlights: -Did pretty well with an in-the-making deck... Cons: -Meh. LOST!!! ;_; -Voltaire Abaya(Eternal) -Thunderv11@yahoo.com -Note: What's up all you cool guys at A World of Books. Special thanks to: Marcus for trading me a Mirage. Micheal for trading me a Spear. Donald for trading me a Holo MST and hooking me up with both my Raigeki Breaks and my Dark Snake Syndromes. My buddy Rocky for helping me out with all my decks... all of you are the best.
