Darkness Beatdown: Omaha Style!!!
Duelist: Robert Sanders
Location: Trademart @ Moline, Illinois
Time: Saturday, August 9 @ 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Hey, everybody!  I apologize if I haven't done too many tournament reports for a long time, but I was busy over the time.
For the past three weeks, I was up in Omaha, Nebraska dueling at an official tournament up there at a store called Learning Express.  The duelists there were very hard and they all played beatdown decks, but I learned some new ways to upgrade my deck.  Well, I went to three of their tournaments and this is how they went:
Tournament One (7/23) : Round One:
It was a pretty easy duel for a start, as someone hasn't been playing for a long time.  He used cards like La Jinn and Harpie's Brothers, but didn't stand a chance against my Jinzo.
Tournament One: Round Two:
This person that I dueled was a lover of Dark Ruler Ha Des and kept pulling it up, so I lost both times.  At least the consolation prize that day was one Pharonic Guardian pack, which I got a Gora Turtle :(

Tournament Two (7/30) : Round One:
After a week of upgrading my deck's speed by taking out cards, I took on a kid that loves his 1800 attackers.  Ofcourse, my deck was stronger, I had alot of confidence, and that won the duel for me :)
Tournament Two: Round Two:
What rotten luck; I had to take on their best duelist!  He played Gearfrieds, Spear Dragons, and Kycoos, which was pretty hard to go against.  On the first match, I got him down to 300, but he turned the game around.  On the second match, I made a mistake by setting down MOF instead of Fiber Jar when I was about to lose.  He won, but I got two LOD packs, with rotten cards.
Tournament Three (8/6): Round One:
The first duelist I took on was a pretty good duelist, but I was too much for him.  He used La Jinns and other 1800 attackers (like everybody else), but Kycoos helped me win my match.
Tournament Three: Round Two:
It must be a curse that I cannot make it past the second round, because I lost this one, too.  The good news was that I pulled an Injection Fairy Lily out of my consolation pack prize.  With it, I got Dark Ruler Ha Des and Freed the Matchless General.

Well, now you have an idea of what I have been doing on vacation in Omaha.  Ofcourse, that is not what my tournament report is about; this tournament report is on what happened when I got back to Trademart, but first, here is a look at my deck:

I am testing out a few cards, like Swarm of Scarabs and Different Dimension Capsule, but they seem to help out alot.  This deck once had about 50 cards, but I brought it down to around 40, which definitely helps out alot.
Anyways, after three weeks, I saw my buddies once again inside the wonderful little store of Trademart.  Jeric, William, Josh, Tony and James Rias, and many more people participated in the tournament.  Tod came in the back room where we hold our tournament and took a vote on whether we will have a single or doubles tournament, but today it was doubles.  I paired up with Jeric, my best friend, and the tournament was going to start soon.  I went trading and recieved my Helpoemer, Different Dimension Capsule, and Swarms of Scarabs from my fellow duelists there, but then the tournament started.
Round One: Me & Jeric versus Ronnie and Aaron
Ronnie played a Harpie Lady deck and I think Aaron played a beatdown deck.  Anyways, Ronnie kept playing his wind monsters while Jeric and I would counter back with our dark monsters.  The duel took about a half hour, but I enjoyed every second of it.  Jeric was using his Kycoo the Ghost Destroyers, and I was using Helpoemer in the graveyard to keep depleting their hands, which was enjoyable.  They both put up a great fight, but in the end Jeric and I won.  Great game, you two ;)
Round Two: Me & Jeric versus B.J. and Scott
I arranged the round two, but I made a mistake because both of these duelists were supposed to already be eliminated, which I found out after the duel was over.  They played beatdown cards, but Helpoemer was striking them down until I flipped Fiber Jar.  After that, I finished them off.  They did pretty good and they had alot of confidence in themselves ;)
Round Three: Me & Jeric versus Tony Rias and James Rias
They both were pretty tough before I left, but they have definitely improved their decks with the new Pharonic Guardian packs.  One of them played a beatdown deck while the other played the "unstoppable" Exodia.  For the entire duel, all four of us would battle back and forth until the duel was interrupted with the flip effect of Fiber Jar.  Right after Jeric and I depleted one of the Rias brothers, there was a mistake found in the life points because I was taking off life points from the wrong person.  As we were all arguing, the store was going to close early because the owner of the store had to leave to go out of town.  So what we did was take the tournament next door, as well as the prize to the winner of the tournament.  All of the remaining teams in the tournament (Jeric, Tony, James, Michael, William & me) gathered around the two booster packs and we decided that we would open them to see if the tournament was worth while to finish.  The two rares were Fatal Abacus and some monster with a large tongue from PGD.  We decided to call the tournament a 6-way draw and we randomly selected three cards from the packs.  Mine sucked, so I gave my portion to William.
Well, the tournament was alot of fun, but I wish that we could've finished it before time ran out.  Oh well... until next time: Good luck and Happy Dueling :)

Props:
-My deck got an awesome upgrade
-Chicken Pizza never tasted better before
-I got Helpoemer today
-Tod was nice of us to continue our tournament next door
-Jeric was an awesome partner
-Great to see everybody after three weeks
Slops:
-Headache (well, it wasn't that bad)
-bad cards in booster packs, as well as splitting them and getting the worst cards
-really bad traffic on the I-74 bridge on the way back

If any of you would like to duel me, ask questions, need me to repair your deck, don't hesitate!  My e-mail address is and always will be Great Exodia@aol.com.  Have a great day ;)
