Date: Sunday, April 06, 2003 11:44 PM Deck name:Perpetual Motion Name:Kazoogle Woogle Store:Woobies Collectables Date:April 6, 2003 Place:Surrey, B.C, Canada # of people:approximately 15 1st Place: 1 1st edition LON pack, 1 1st edition LOB pack 2nd Place: 1 1st edition LON pack Consolation prize: 1 PSV if you paid $5 to enter, 1 LON if you paid an extra $.75. Before the tourney, I bought a PSV pack (only $3.29 canadian, pretty good) and I pulled a Fiend Megacyber, which went straight into my deck. I also traded a Mystical Space Typhoon (SDP) for a Skull Lair. Now, onto perpetual motion: Sacrifice Monsters:4 X 2 Barrel Dragon Jinzo The Fiend Megacyber 4 starred Attackers:10 X 3 La Jinn X 3 7 Colored fish X 2 Harpie's Brother Effect Monsters:6 X 2 Magician of Faith X 2 Man-Eater bug (MEB) Cyber Jar Witch of the Black Forest (WOTBF) Magic:14 Monster Reborn Change of Heart (COH) Dark Hole Pot of Greed (POG) Raigeki Snatch Steal Premature Burial Swords of Revealing Light (SORL) Heavy Storm Graceful Charity X 2 Tribute to the Doomed (TTTD) X 2 Nobleman of Crossout Traps:8 Skull Lair Fairy Box Imperial Order Ceasefire Magic Jammer Seven Tools of the Bandit Mirror Force Call of the Haunted (COTH) I arrived at the tournament with my friend Adam, but more on him later. First Round:Kazoogle Woogle vs. Troy (30 something year old with wicked awful cards, as well as ability) Duel 1: This duel was over fast. He would play nothing but 2000 defenders for a while, and I would TTTD them and beat him down with 1800 attackers. He tried to attack me with a dancing fairy equipped with a horn of the unicorn in two straight turns (it went to the top of his deck) but luckily I had a skull lair and a Mirror Force prepared for him. Regardless, I won this duel. Duel 2: Much of the same here. I think I TTTD his Forgiving Maiden, discard Barrel Dragon, then Premature Burial it. This was over FAST. Adam won his first match handily, so we both make it to the next round. Then the judge breaks us the news: we have to face each other!!! Right then Adam started getting all mad, and asked for a new opponent (he only beats me about 10% of the time), so the judge (ranked 8th in Canada) says face him or face me. The match between us went as follows: Second Round: Kazoogle Woogle vs Adam (Good beatdown that does maximum damage to the opponent then hides behind a Messenger of Peace) Duel 1: He cracks out some good monsters early, but I manage to stay in it with fairy box (all coinflips went my way), then reborning a Barrel Dragon and summoning a Jinzo, which takes the game. Duel 2: He does some mass damage to me early then hides until he has good enough monsters to finish me off, then finishes me off. Woobooboobooboob. Duel 3: I get out a Barrel Dragon and a Jinzo, say it is over by Heavy Storming but he plays Scapegoat. I then summon a Fiend Megacyber and kill 3 of his sheep tokens. Next turn he TTTD's my Barrel Dragon, Change of Hearts Jinzo which he sacs for Summoned Skull. He thinks he is about to win, but SKULL LAIR!!!! I remove 6 cards to kill SS, and another one to kill his last token. Next turn I attack for the win. Adam is dissapointed, a tie for 5th after a 2nd place last time. Oh well, nice dueling Adam!! Third Round:Kazoogle Woogle vs ???????? (Clown control/lifegain/deck depletion) Duel 1: He cracks out Gravity Bind early. I build up a fleet of monsters while he defends, then Raigeki and summon a Jinzo for the win. Duel 2: I side in two Prohibitions and a Mystical Space Typhoon to combat Gravity Bind. He owns me with Gravity Bind this duel, then makes a mistake by Heavy Storming his own GB. After taking quite a hit, I activate Graceful Charity, discard two Barrel Dragons (After pulling a Raigeki), activate Raigeki, alon with Premature Burial and Monster Reborn to bring back the Barrels, and finish this sharade. He dueled well, but I think his deck would benefit from a little bit more focus on a theme, such as clowns (a decent deck, but has many weaknesses). After this round, I watch the other quarter-final match, and, after seeing one kid lose, I say he is about to receive the pack of shame (you get the consolation prize when you lose), but the judge thinks I said the pack of shit, so i have to begin the next duel with a 1000 point handicap. Woobooboobooboob. Fourth Round:Kazoogle Woogle vs Sleep-Deprived person (good cards, but no apparent theme and he dueled sloppily, which is from lack of sleep supposedly) Duel 1: I owned this duel from start to finish. I kept on TTTDing his monsters and eventually cracked out Jinzo for the win. Duel 2: This was interesting. Most of my hand and draws were effect mons, so I made good use of them. I Snatch Stole his Jinzo, and he tried to Magic Jammer but HELLO!!! There is a Jinzo on the field!! He killed it, reborned it, and attacked my face-down Magicain of Faith! Next turn I Snatch Steal it (again) and he again, tries to Jam it!!! I won from that attack and then he blames his faults on lack of sleep. Someone else points out that most people are sharper with less sleep, but he says no. Well, look at that. I face a difficult road of opponents to the finals, and then I realize that a relative newbie made it to the finals. The judge points out that he pairs up better duelists with each other, and weaker ones with each other to make things fair. Anyhow, my opponent was my first round opponent last week, and he runs an equip beatdown (with no Hayabusa Knights or Maha Vailos!). Final round:Kazoogle Woogle vs Michael Duel 1: Last week I traded this guy a spare Axe of Despair for a Nobleman of Crossout, and we became friends. I summon a lot of 1800 attackers to the field, TTTD his monsters, and reborn my discarded Barrel Dragon. Game. Duel 2: This duel was relatively easy. After a bad Cyber Jar flip, I special summon Fiend Megacyber, Raigeki and bring him to 1600 life. On his turn he Snatch Steals my Fiend Megacyber, equips is with a Megamorph and attacks. On my turn I try to Dark Hole, but Magic Jammer. Seeing that my graveyard is only five cards, I play Swords of Revealing Light which he also Jams. With six cards now in my graveyard, I activate Skull Lair, kill The Fiend Megacyber, and reborn it for the win. Yayyyyy!!!! I win the tourney!!!!!!!!!!! I receive my prize, and get.......crappy rares!!!! And on top of that, for winning, I don't get the consolation prize of a pack. Woobooboobooboob. at least I got a Hysteric Fairy in the LON pack. After the tournament, I replaced my Fairy Box with a Skull Lair and my Noblemen of Crossouts for Hysteric Fairys (I found myself without monsters a lot) On to the props and slops: Props: -getting Fiend Megacyber in the only pack I bought (and could afford) -winning the tournament! -all of the honourable duelists I faced! -Skull Lair, for actually being recommended to put in my deck (ironically, by Adam, the person it screwed the most) -The Fiend Megacyber -Mirror Force, for popping up a lot Slops: -having to face Adam in the second round -getting crappy boosters from the packs I won -Call of the Haunted, for never showing up when I need it -Woobies, for crappy prizes -THIEVES AND CHEATERS!!!
