Today proves to be my luckiest day ever.  Before I get ready to go to the tourney, I get a call from the miniature golf place I was at yesterday telling me I've won two tickets to see the movie "Phone Booth", which is pretty sweet.  Apparently, things would only get better as the day went on.

I was able to trade one of each of my promos (Buster Blader/Thousand Eyes Restrict) for a Left Leg (which I'll try to trade for an Arm another day) and one kid wants my Thousand-Eyes Restrict (the good version out of Pharoah's Servant) and gives up a SNATCH STEAL!  Now I have an extra one of those to throw out into the trades...

My friend Cory was there today, and I was hoping that he would be able to defeat Jesse and for us to meet in the finals (in which case we'd split the prize).  Jesse never showed.  We had to pray we were in different brackets.  Lo and behold, our dice rolls on the d20 put us on the opposite sides.  Things were looking up.

Round 1:  John (Jesse's friend) w/okay Beatdown
John practically did a double-take when he realized he had to face me.  I love having that effect on people :P
He only took 400 points from me during the whole Match.  (Reinforcements on a Harpie's Bro vs. my Gemini Elf)
LP Duel 1:  8000 to his 8000-6450-5350-650-0
LP Duel 2:  8000-7600 to his 8000-5200 (1800 + Axe) - 5000 - 650 - 0

Round 2:  Paul (little kid) with not so good deck
I gotta give him some credit, he got past Round 1.  Hayabusa took the first game along with Kycoo, and the second game was Goblin + Gemini on the first attacking turn I had.  Quick games.
LP Duel 1:  8000-7500 to his 8000-6000-2200-0
LP Duel 2:  8000 to his 8000-3800-2700-0

Round 3:  Tyler
This round was funny.  I was watching Tyler misplay cards and correcting him on it during his previous match (I swear he tries to cheat so bad without even realizing it...) He acted like it was no big deal.  He acted all cocky that he beat his opponent, Kenan (a nice guy who I practice dueled earlier).  So I was like "Guess what?  You're dueling me in the next round."  He just stared at me for 10 seconds.  I think I could see the exact moment where his heart fell to the bottom of his chest.

Duel 1:  Gemini Elf + Witch did the first 3000, Imperial Order blocked all of his attempts to stop me during the one turn he actually HAD magic...Raigeki and another strong monster finished the job.
8000 to his 8000-5000-0.
Duel 2:  This match took a fair amount of time.  He kept getting rid of my monsters one way or another.  The best way to look at this one is through the LP:
8000-7500 (his GAF attacking a Kycoo) to his 8000-6200 (Kycoo) - 3900 (GAF) - 1900 (Haya) - 0

Apparently, Cory, whom I had expected to go all the way on his side, fell in the semifinals to Brian (the annoying kid who doesn't talk during his battles).  He tried to give Tyler advice on how to play against me before his semifinal match, so I had a score to settle with him.

Finals:  Brian with a nice Beatdown
Duel 1:
Note:  If you ever see me play more than one Graceful Charity in the same turn, you're probably in for a hurtin'.  On Turn Two I took 7850 points worth of blood, and he had no counters.  The nice thing about Graceful is you can throw away monsters, then just Reborn them.  That's exactly what happened here.  Over by Turn Three.
8000 to his 8000-150-0
Duel 2:  He cuts my deck six different ways after I shuffled.  He did all the work though, putting THREE GRACEFUL CHARITIES IN MY OPENING HAND.  He went first, set down 3 M/Ts, a monster, and ended turn.  I knew if he had Order I was screwed.  However, the only thing he had was Magic Drain.  I discarded one of the three Charities and used the other two.  I HSed his threats, and through some smart discarding and a field clear, got out a Summoned Skull to attack for 2500.  He gets rid of my monsters and gets one of his own mons pumped up to 3600 and whacks direct after a Fissure.  I clear his mon out of the way and attack with a GAF to take him down to 3200 LP.  He gets rid of my mon (AGAIN!) and hits me for 1900.  Thanks to a Magician of Faith, I got rid of his mon the turn after, and played Hayabusa for 2,000.  He drew Summoned Skull and could not counter, his hand empty except for that card.  The game was mine, and so was the tourney, for the second time in a row.
LP:  8000-4400-2500 to his 8000-5500-3200-1200-0

Since the store owner wasn't there to hand out the prizes yet and was on his way (his assistant was running the tourney), I decide to let my Mewtwo worshipping choose the pack I would get.  (You still get a pack of LoN or PSV here, even if you win the 1st place prize.)  I take all the packs, stack them, and choose the 15th pack from the top (since Mewtwo is #150).  Hello, Destiny Board.  The entire room flips out.  I tell them I'm not trading it away unless someone has one of the Exodia arms on them.  No one does.

Jahinie gets in 15 minutes later and gives me my prize:  A Chain Destruction (LoB Ultra) and the four Spirit Messages.  He said that giving Destiny Board would be too much because it's so hard to get.  I whip out my pack from earlier and say, "Oh, you mean THIS Destiny Board?"  He said "Well, that really works out for you then, you have the whole set."  (Note:  The set IS up for trade but only for both Arms of Exodia.)

Me and some friends have a 4 on 4 battle (I knock out Cory on my second turn, one kid got disqualified for having two Change of Hearts on his deck, I knock out another kid the very next turn (Gotta love Hayabusa Knight + Axe of Despair in a 4,000 LP per person 8-way)  and the last kid gets beat soon after.

After that it was time to leave, so now for props and slops:
Props:
Jesse -- For not showing up and allowing me to take the tourney with no difficulty whatsoever
John -- For being a good sport about having to play me in Round 1
The kid who traded me Exodia's Left Leg
The kid who traded me Snatch Steal
My Mewtwo worshipping, for guiding me to a Destiny Board
The off-chance that I pull a Destiny Board where the other prizes involved the other four spirit letters
Graceful Charity not being restricted for the moment
The practice duel I had with Cory, where I drew ELEVEN cards outside of my draw phase on my FIRST TURN -- Graceful/Graceful/Graceful/Pot

Slops:
Brian, for trying to advise Tyler on how to play against me
Tyler, for acting cocky and making several misplays in his earlier matches, some of which probably went unseen
The kid who didn't know Change of Heart was restricted to 1 per deck

So far, I'm 3 for 4 at Jahinie's.  (Darn you Jesse!)  Tournament Season Three begins in two weeks.  It leaves us all to wonder what game-breaker will be released within those thirty cards.  How are they going to top Mechanicalchaser and Morphing Jar?  The quest for a Millennium Puzzle Trophy shall begin very, very soon...
