Anywho, this, like I said, was my second tournament. the last one i place in the top ten, but around 8. This one had a slightly different outcome. It was single elimination, and there were 32 kids there. I saw some faces that i recognized- a kid named charles who had beaten me last time using my own sword of deep seated against me. he was tough but i was sure I could beat him. The bracket was set, and I found my first match:

Spyder Vs. ??? ( Yugi Starter)

This kid ( we’ll call his sam) did not know how to play the game at all. not only that, but he had seen me play in earlier games ( prelims, just for fun) and had already had his mind set about losing to me. It wasn’t fun for either of us. I beat him the first game by powering up my la jinn to an astounding 3500 and the second whent the same way, I just kept countering his summons with trap holes, and the match was won as easy as pie. I felt bad though- this kid, no older than 9, just got eliminated from his first tourny. his parents didn’t look to happy at me, the 14 year old who beat him, but hey, I wasn’t just gonna lose! oh well. Thats life. I waited a long time, and I eventually got matched up the winner of opposing bracket- sebbi.

Spyder Vs. Sebbi ( Strange deck)

Well this kid knew how to play, just didn’t play very well :(. I didn’t take notes, but, I knew I won the first two duels very very easily.)

Spyder Vrs. Sean ( Direct Damage Deck)

Well, he had the right Idea. I had fought him in a prelim one-timer and won easliy. In this match, there was a newfound spirit in him, and he did put up a good fight. I was utterly suprised at the onslaught of DD cards he threw at me ( tremendous fire, sparks, final flame, etc.)but in the end, i had defeated him with a combonation of cannon soldier and ultiamte offering. The Next match, However, was th toughest in the tournament. I wish I fought him in the finals.

Spyder Vs. ????? ( beatdown X2 deck)

ok. This was the toughie. He was about 16 and I could tell he was hard. He had just beaten charles, and I saw that He had a red eyes skull dragon in his fusion deck. The first match he got bad hands, and It was an easy win for me. Then in the second duel, I was doing well untill he fissured my high powered skull, then reborned it and used it plus a godess with the third eye and polymerzation card to bring out the RESD! I did destroy it later with a man-eater bug ( man, i love that little guy!) but i was too low in lp to pull it through. Then, the hardest duel of my life was about to ensue. Before I was starting the third match, I saw the other kid that won his semi-dinal match come over to me and say out loud “ I know I could beat [me] but I don’t think I could beat [him]”. Oh. Lots of encouragement from the fans. Anyways, I had already gotten a large crowd around the table, and the duel ensued. We whent back and forth, untill He was down to 1200 life points and my myself down to 500. I had 4 face down monsters on the field ( my la jinn, 1 hane-hane, a castle of dark illusions and a man-eater) when he played his trump card- Swords of revealing light. he obliterated my la jinn immediatley with his own neo the magic swordsman. it was my turn. Pulling a useless seven tools. his neo had attacked my man-eater. Then, In my second turn, I pulled out a castle of dark illusions, and i put him in defense. he had put down a jirai gumo and attacked it, flipping it in his favor. he then pulled out a sparks, leaving me at 300 to his 1200. Things were looking pretty dim. then I pulled the card that one it for me. Cannon Soldier. I placed it in defense, face-up, and tributed my hane-hane ( returning jirai gumo to his hand) the caslte of dark illusions, along with the cannon solider itself. Because it is an effect, not an attack, it bypassed the swords and destroyed the swords, along with his chances of a championship. ( This is for the people who don’t believe in the heart of the cards).

The last one was a dupe. I don’t even recount it, but he was an e-bay dueler. I hate e-bay duelists. They are kids who are spoiled by their parents who buythem BOXES of cards , weekly. He actually asked me “ How many boxes do you buy a week?”. . . This is the same kid who said he could be me. He then said “ and my parents don’t buy me my boxes- I buy them myself of off my 50 dollar allowance ( which I then found out was Bi-weekly. no, not every other week, TWICE A WEEK). I trounced him easliy.

Pros: I won!

- I got 3 tourny boosters

- I WON!

Cons: I met the e-bay duelist... thats it...
