My name: Holland Avery Tournament: Wizards of the Coast Location: Puyallup, WA Date: 9-3-02 5:30pm System: Swiss Participants: 10 Cost: 6$ Prize: 1st 5 booster, 2nd 3, 3rd 2. Deck Name: Who Needs a Summoned Skull? This deck is a little out of the ordinary, I use no tribute monster, which means if I draw a monster I can play it. My main objective is to kill my opponents monster or return them to thier hand then attack directly with la jinn and 7 colored fish. Monster/18 3x 7 colored fish (Good attack, no tribute) 3x La jinn (Same as La Jinn) 3x Man Eater Bug (you attack me with BEWD, ha I kill it) 3x Magician of faith (You thought I used monster reborn and change of heart, well I got them back) 3x wall of illusion (good protection agaisnt La Ginn and fish) 2x witch of the black forest (It may die, but now I gett MEB or MOF) 1x Kuriboh (I don't know why I use it, but I really like this card) Magic/12 1x fissure (used to kill) 2x SORL (Lets me set up my effect monsters) 1x Raigeki (Best monster killer) 1x monster reborn (Get my guy back) 1x change of heart (Get your guy and use its effect) 1x dark hole (Clear the field) 1x soul release (you use MOF, well I removed your all your magic cards) 2x heavy storm (Clear magic field) 1x pot of Greed (Two more cards) 1x share the pain (I love killing a monster with MEB then sacrificing it with this) Trap/10 3x Trap Hole (NO monster for you) 2x Waboku (No damage for me) 2x 7 tools(Stops those pesky mirror forces and magic jammers) 2x Magic jammer (Stops all of those pesky magic cards) 1x mirror force (You attack with 3 Skulls and 2 BEWD's, Bah I kill them all) Hi all, this is my 2nd tourney report, and I hope I make it better than the last. Anyways, I arrived at wizards around 5:00, only a few people had arrived so we were contemplating not having a tournament. But by 5:30 we had 10 people. It was swiss system and wizards had a program to do the pairings. I knew most of the people there, the best were my brother (Kale), Si, his brother Hugh, Mark, and of course me. The 1st round parinings were quite surprising. Me vs. My brother Si vs. his brother Mark vs. some little kid But it was odd that the brothers went agaisnt each other, especially since me and my brother were 2 of the best. Anyways, here is how it went. Holland vs. Kale match 1: I kept killing his monsters, and he attacked my wall of illusions a few times to loose monsters, I kept attacking with my walls and he lost quite a few lp with Solemn Judgement. In the end he had 350 lp and I had a MOF out, I drew my kuriboh, I played it, he flipped trap hole, but it doesn't work on him, so I attacked to win. match 2: Same as before but he lost 6000 or so lp from Solemn Judgement, I attacked with my walls and won. Round 1 results Me 1-0 Kale 0-1 Si 1-0 Hugh 0-1 Mark 1-0 This round I had to play Si, not to happy about that. Holland vs. Si Match 1: We both kept clearing the field, and attacking each other with creatures, but I won out by using 7 tools on his mirror force and doing 2800 damage to win Match 2: I got almost no monster, he brought me down to 800lp, but then I got SORL, then got another SORL, then brought it back with MOF 2 times, but finally I ran out of monsters and traps and he won. Match 3: very quick, he had good magic/trap/monster in his 1st hand, My 1st had had only monsters which he killed and attakced my lp directly Round 2 results: me 1-1 kale 1-1 Si 2-0 Hugh 1-1 Mark 2-0 Si and I were the only close duels, everyone else had easy people to play. Round 3, me vs. Mark I figured this would be an easy win but a few rules mishaps changed a lot. Match 1: I had this one easy, my winning combo was change of heart on his SS, reborn his other SS, summon a la jinn, and i had a MEB on set. So I attacking with the 2 SS, then with la ginn, he plays monster reborn on a shadow goul, let me repeat that, he plays monster reborn on my turn during the battle phase to summon a monster and says my la jinn attacks it. We get a judge to come over and since earlier the manager tried to call the hotline but couldn't so ruled that you can play magic cards during any battle phase. I shuffled my deck out of habbit as I was trying to explain he couldn't do that. I got a rule book saying only quick play magic cards can be used during battle phase but the worker there said it didn't matter because the manager said that you could play them. They then said that I lost because I shuffled my deck. Bah, if he wants to win that way fine. But I said I would play by the rules. I quickly beat him 2 times in row with out cheating. Hopefully we can work this out by next week. Round 3 results Me 2-1 Kale 2-1 Sigh 3-0 Hugh 2-1 Mark 2-1 As you can see we have quite a few people who are 2-1, so we wait for the pairings. Mark vs. Sigh, me vs. Hugh, my brother agaisnt some easy kid. So my brother has played only 1 hard duel, agaisnt me. He got lucky. Rond 4 Me vs. hugh Match 1: Got a good hand and whooped him, using change of heart 2 times and raigeki 2 times. Match 2: same as 1st, using 7 tools on his mirror force and change of heart a few times. Final results Me 3-1 Kale 3-1 Sigh 4-0 Hugh 2-2 Mark 2-2 They put evrything into the computer and the final standings were: 1st: Sigh 2nd: Me (Holland) 3rd: kale I got 2nd over my brother because I played harder people. In my boosters i got a magic jammer, which I needed because I was borrowing 1. All in all in was a good tourney and hopefully we clear up the rules. Props -Me for getting 2nd -Me for getting a magic jammer -For all the fun we had Slops -Mark for not agreeing with the rule book -Sigh for copying my deck and not using tribute monsters -Upperdeck for not sending out tournament kits If you want to contact here is my info Email: cheese33@swirve.com mIRC: [FD]Cheese Pojo Ladder: [FD]Cheese
