You wager star chips, once you get ten youre in the brackets, brackets lead to finals. Eliminators set up to weed out the weak. 1sr prize is $40, 2nd is $20, 3rd is $10. I didnt place, but my friend Jonathan won 3rd. Heres what happened: Round 1: Starchip count: 2 My first match was against a 15-year-old named Ed. He had about the same deck I had, except with negations like 7-Tools. He knew some people from my high school. We both bet one star. Anyway we started dueling, each of us only taking about 45 seconds per turn, and we noticed and told each other to slow down. Anyway, I dont really remember what happened until our third duel, where I had him on the ropes, ith me at 6000 and him about 1750. Then there was a time when I couldnt draw any monsters, and he bumped me down to 2000 in 1 or two turns. Finally I pulled a giant soldier of stone and it lasted until I got my summoned skull. So the match goes to me. Round 2: Starchip count: 3 This was my final match, because I bet all my star chips, a bad move on my part. I was up against Liam(?). HE wore a white lab coat, if that helps at all. Anyway, I started in good form, with my La Jinn, but so did he, so we traded blows the first few turns. I noticed he played a few Sangans and Witch of the Black Forest, and he claimed he didnt have to show me the card. So I got paranoid that he was playing Exodia. It turns out he had a Harpy Lady Deck, like my friend Jon, so he used about 3 Elegant Egotist, and he won the first match. About the same for the second. It was weird, because he drew a card and said, Ooh, thiss iss delightful. (His pronunciation caught me off guard, and my friends say it was intimidating.) So I lost all my starchips. Final Result 0 Starchips. %( After that, I free-dueled for awhile, and I was surprised to see Jonathan winning nearly all his duels, especially because I usually beat him. Anyway I ran into the guy I faced in the first tournament, I still dont know his name: the weenie rush guy, with the rocks and fusion deck from another pojo report. Anyway he seemed eager to leave, because he was bored or didnt like it. He agreed to duel me for one starchip if I wagered one rare card. I put up a shadow ghoul, and we began. Free Duel: He had changed his deck to form a basic dragon/Lord of D. deck. He let me look, and he had Seiyaru(?) and Tri-Horn Dragon. What I suggested was that just because you have a dragon deck doesnt mean you have to put bad dragons in it, because he had Blue-Wing Crown and Koumori Dragon. After some early trap holes, I won. His monsters were too weak against my La Jinn. He gave me 2 starchips, because he didnt want to be in the tournament anymore. So I gave these to Jonathan because it was already pretty late in the tournament. Free Duel: I had another duel against a person with just a Kaiba and a Yugi starter deck. This wasnt important, but I did. He actually tributed for a Gaia the Fierce Knight. Need I say more? After this I checked up on Jonathan, and he had defeated an eliminator, and was ready for the bracket rounds. To keep from being bored, he was my ride, I dueled another person, wagering my Garnecia Elefantis. Free Duel: Garnecia Elefantis This match was the most aggravating match of the whole tournament. This was the same guy I faced in the earlier tournament, but with an interesting deck. He used the Cannon Soldier Last Will combo, but it became worse when he played Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest too. I lost, after he did direct damage with his relatively weak monsters followed by launching them. I lost my Garnecia Elefantis! BOO! Anyway, I saw at least 3 Harpy Ladies decks, most of which made it to the brackets. I was upset about losing, but glad Jonathan made it to third. Afterward, we helped clean up, and they promised us free star chips for the next tournament. We didnt leave for awhile because Jonathans dad didnt come. Kevin, Jonathans brother, also helped, even though he didnt enter, and he really brightened my day with his comments, like about Princess of Tsurugi. He should enter the next one, If Jonathan didnt take cards in his deck for his own. Anyway the guy that I dueled, Liam(?) won 10 starchips, but lost to an eliminator, and lost his side deck. (Divine Retribution, despite how nice I want to be.). Ed went on to the brackets and semi-finals but lost to Jonathan. The people that held the tournament offered us some drinks aftter the tournament, and recognized me as the one who wrote the last tournament report about them. Thus the following: JL is the best eliminator The eliminators play fusion decks without Polymerization The eliminators all play 3 Kojikocy This is the best tournament If you want to read my other report, go to Pojo's Tourney Reports, agust, titled: Tourney Report: 7-27-02 Ok, this is the end of the tournament report! Props: Prizes (Cash to buy the cards you need) Jonathan for making it to 3rd. Kevin, for being there. Kevin's family for providing ice cream and drinks. All the people who helped with the tournament. Slops: My deck, which needs Magic Jammer and 7-Tools. The time spent trying to find other things to do besides duel. Email: hayovrheerz@yahoo.com -Get busy living or get busy dying.
