The tournament was designed so that the person who gets 2 out of 3 games wins the match. The winner of the tournament got a tournament pack and points on Upper Deck since this was an official tourney. Everyone who signed up for the tournament and paid the cheap five-dollar entrance fee got a tournament pack, so in a sense everyone came out winning. This deck was constructed the night before the tournament, and is still under construction not allowing me anytime to really play test it but I had enough faith in the heart of the cards to use it. Approximately 40 duelists showed up to the tournament held at GetAGame.Com, which means I got to victimize about 5 duelists with it. This is what the deck looked like. Michael The kid I played in the first round was luckily a 7 or 8 year old. He didn’t know how to play the game that well but he gave it his best. I dominated the duel from the beginning by using 7 colored fish and La jinn equipped with malevolent nuzzler. The kid made the same mistake over and over, which was attacking my monsters with monster of lower attack power. I win my first round. Round 2: Zealot Vs. Round 2 guy in this round I played a kid who was pretty confident in his deck. Everyone told me he was good, but I had never seen him play before. Anyway the match started with me choosing who goes first. I let him go first since I drew swords of revealing light, heavy storm, seven tools of the bandit, Witch of the black Forest, and Mega morph. He played Dark Elf in attack mode put two cards down in the magic trap zone. My turn, I drew and got a summoned skull. I put down the witch in defensive mode, played heavy storm, swords of revealing light, put down my seven tools of the bandit and ended my turn. He played another dark elf in attack mode, put down a card in the magic trap area, and ended his turn. I tribute my witch of the black forest for my Summoned Skull, and at this point the kid tried to trap hole him, so I used my seven tools of the bandit, brining me down to 7000. Since my witch went to the graveyard I get to bring Maha Vailo to my hand. I equip my summoned skull with Mega Morph bringing his attack power to 5000. I kill one of his dark elves bringing him down to 5000. His turn, he fissures my summoned skull and puts a monster down in defensive mode and ends his turn. I draw malevolent nuzzler, and play Maha vailo in attack mode equipped with malevolent nuzzler brining his attack power to 2750; I kill his dark elf bringing him down to 4250. His turn, he puts down another monster in defensive mode face down, and ends turn. My swords of revealing light are gone. I draw and get a man eater bug, which I set down, and I attack the first card he put face down a few turns ago which is mask of darkness, so he now gets a trap card back. His turn, he draws and plays a monster card face down and ends turn. My turn I draw pot of greed and play it; I draw summoned skull and ultimate offering. I put down ultimate offering and I flip over my man-eater bug using its effect no the card my opponent just put down which was Cyber Jar, I tribute the bug for my summoned skull. I use my summoned skull to attack the remaining card, which was invader of the throne whose effect can’t work during the battle phase, and I do 2750 direct damage bringing him down to 1500. His turn he draws one card and puts it down in the trap/magic card zone. My turn I draw seven tools of the bandit I set it down and attack his life points, he flips over mirror force, I flip seven tools, and that’s another victim under my belt. We play another game which I win bringing me to 2 out of three wins advancing me to round 3. Round 3: Zealot Vs. Round 3 Guy In this game I play another kid whom I had never seen before. He was a little bit more of a challenge, which is probably the reason I don’t remember it to well since I was under a little bit of pressure. He won the coin flip and decided to go first; he set down 4 magic/trap cards and one monster. I set down a magic jammer, seven tools, mirror force, and a man-eater in face down position leaving me with tribute to the doomed and sanga of thunder in my hand. He change of hearts my man-eater and I, like a moron, forget to play magic jammer. He flips my man-eater over and decides to use its effect on itself and he tributes his face down card, which was another, man-eater and brings out his summoned skull. I must have been nervous because I didn’t use my mirror force, which benefits me later on. He ends phase and I draw pot of greed, allowing me to draw Mega Morph and maha vailo, I finally get to use my little combo. I play tribute to the doomed on his summoned skull. I discard my sanga from my hand. I play maha vailo with mega morph bringing him to 4100. I attack his life points, he attempts to mirror force I use my seven tools of the bandit bringing me to 4500, and bringing him to 3900, the tables have turned. At this point he kind of lost his fighting spirit of something but all I remember is my mirror force coming into play and that game ending. I go on to win the next game bringing me to 2 wins out of 3 advancing me to round 4. Round 4: Zealot Vs. Slow 1 this was a fairly easy game since I knew the kid I was playing. A few combos came into play here from my part. I did a tribute to the doomed discarding my sanga of thunder and then monster reborning it, while using change of heart on his summoned skull, and just destroying him. I don’t even remember the specifics but I don’t really need to. I beat him in consecutive games bringing me to 2 out of 3 wins advancing me to the semi finals. Since I barely lost any life points I got a bye to the finals since there were 3 of us left in the semis. Finals: Zealot Vs. Puffy I was glad to get this match because now I get to face the kid who eliminated me out of last week’s tournament, and the idea of revenge just made my mouth water. I was nervous at the beginning of this game since I watched him play his semi final game were he played flawlessly, so I knew to do my best. He went first I think. He puts down 2 magic/trap cards and a monster card. I try to change of heart his guy he magic jams me. I put down Sagan and end turn. His swords of revealing lights me and it all went down hill from there. I don’t remember much, just a few monsters reborn, him using my own sanga of thunder against me, and a whole lot of pain. He wins that game with about 7000 points in the bank. Next game I pull a decent hand. Heavy storm, swords of revealing light 2 of them actually, seven tools of the bandit mega morph and my witch of the black forest. I tell him to go first. He puts down 4 magic/ trap cards and a monster and ends turn. I draw and get magician of faith. I play swords of revealing light which he magic jams, but then I play my second one, he had a man eater bug out there, making it destroy itself I put down my magician of faith face down, and put down my seven tools. I made a mistake that turn by not using heavy storm to begin with but whatever. A few turns pass I end up using seven tools of the bandit somewhere down the line allowing me to use my mega morph and maha vailo, and my other swords of revealing light, which I brought back with the magician of faith. It just went down hill for him at that point. I win the second game. It is now one game to one game, how a true championship duel should be. I just destroy him in this game. He pulls nothing good. None of his best cards or anything, but I do. I did a change of heart combo involving his monster as a tribute for my sanga of thunder, and then later bringing out my summoned skull. Later on I pull a raigeki and that’s that. I received my Tournament pack and the Yu-Gi-Oh championship belt (which is really a WWE belt you get from the mall). I slung the belt over my right shoulder, raised my left arm making a fist, faced the crowd, and yelled out the words, THERE CAN BE, ONLY, ONE!!! I give props to: The storeowner for running a very good tournament The judges for knowing what they were doing The lady who works st the store for handing me my tourney pack which contained Goddess With The Third Eye For all the kids playing well and getting better over the past week Puffy for losing and letting me taste sweet revenge The storeowner for the cheap 5-dollar entrance fee Slops To: No one everything went well.
