First round of the preliminaries: Beat down- Exodia…

My deck played very well in this round.  The guy I was playing pulled Card Destruction first turn (he knew that I ran Exodia), luckily I had no pieces in my hand. He did okay for the next few rounds.  I still had the one piece in my hand, and I had two Sangans and a Witch of the black forest down in defense mode.  I used Dark Hole to get rid of all creatures (he had a big dragon out), and then I drew four more pieces. I set a Cannon Soldier, and attacked him for 1400.  The next few turns I went I owned him with the Cannon Soldier.  I had his Lp down to 1400, and then on my next turn I drew the Head of the Forbidden One.  Needless to say he was not happy.

Second Round: You play Exodia???

My deck played well again.  This guy didn’t run Card Destruction, so I had nothing really to worry about.  He played Swords his first turn.  I drew two pieces of Exodia in my first draw.  I placed a Sangan down in defense mode.  On my next turn I placed another Sangan, and I used Dark Hole.  On my next turn I didn’t draw anything good.  The turn after I drew the last piece of Exodia.  I say, “I have just won the game.”  The guy says, “Excuse me?” I laid all of the Exodia pieces down, and his mouth drops.  Darn, pull Exodia on one of the best players there…

Third round:  Traditional beat down…

Well, needless to say I kicked this kid’s tail.  I had only one piece of Exodia in my hand, so I just decided I would not try to find the other pieces this round.  I used cannon soldier to beat this kid down, and then when I knew I would win, I placed the Exodia head down, I attacked for 3200, and then tributed the Exodia head to do 500 damage.

Fourth round:  My first loss…

I started beating this kid down, and got him down pretty low, but I couldn’t keep it up.  I don’t remember what card I lost two, but I did have four Exodia pieces in my hand…

First round of the Eliminations: Losing…

I received a buy, so I didn’t have to play the first round.  The first round that I did play was with the guy I beat in the first preliminaries.  He beat me, but it doesn’t matter it was my first tournament, and I had done well.  I think that he was trying to run the clock out because he kept challenging how I played my cards.  I used Solemn Judgment to stop one of his cards, and then he used Seven Tools.  He tried to say that I still lost half of my life.  The Seven Tools negates any effect of a trap card; it is like the Man Eater Bug for the trap card. He also was playing very slow.  We were one in one, then there was the last match and he won.  But then again, there is always next week.
