My name: Holland Avery Tournament: Wizards of the Coast Location: Puyallup, WA Date: 9-10-02 5:30pm System: Swiss Participants: 9 Cost: 6$ Prize: 1st 4 booster, 2nd 3, 3rd 2. Deck Name: Who Needs a Summoned Skull This deck is a little out of the ordinary, I use no tribute monster, which means if I draw a monster I can play it. My main objective is to kill my opponents monster or return them to thier hand then attack directly with la jinn and 7 colored fish. Monster/19 3x 7 colored fish (Good attack, no tribute) 3x La jinn (Same as La Jinn) 3x Man Eater Bug (you attack me with BEWD, ha I kill it) 3x Magician of faith (You thought I used monster reborn and change of heart, well I got them back) 3x wall of illusion (good protection agaisnt La Ginn and fish) 2x witch of the black forest (It may die, but now I gett MEB or MOF) 1x Kuriboh (I don't know why I use it, but I really like this card) 1x hane hane (To help me clear the the field to attack) Magic/12 1x fissure (used to kill) 2x SORL (Lets me set up my effect monsters) 1x Raigeki (Best monster killer) 1x monster reborn (Get my guy back) 1x change of heart (Get your guy and use its effect) 1x dark hole (Clear the field) 1x soul release (you use MOF, well I removed your all your magic cards) 2x heavy storm (Clear magic field) 1x pot of Greed (Two more cards) 1x share the pain (I love killing a monster with MEB then sacrificing it with this) Trap/9 3x Trap Hole (NO monster for you) 2x Waboku (No damage for me) 1x 7 tools(Stops those pesky mirror forces and magic jammers) 2x Magic jammer (Stops all of those pesky magic cards) 1x mirror force (You attack with 3 Skulls and 2 BEWD's, Bah I kill them all) Hurray, my 3rd report and this time I kept track of lp so I can give everyone a better idea of how close some of my duels were. Round 1 BYE I didn't have to duel anyone because we had an odd amount of the people and I was the lucky person who got a bye. Round 1 results Me (Holland) 1-0 Kale (My brother) 1-0 Si (Last weeks winner) 1-0 Round 2 Holland vs. Doug Holland 8000-5900 Doug 8000-7000-5700-2600-0 This guy had every good card but didn't know how to play them or how to make a good deck, his deck was 60+ cards. He started by playing dark hole on my monster than attacking with a 7 colored fish with a SODS on it. I countered by playing heavy storm because he had layed every card he could on the field, than I played fissure and attack with a wall of illusion. After than I had complete control using rageki 2 times and getting out a la ginn to do the rest of the damage. Holland 8000-7400-6050-5850 Doug 8000-7950-7900-7550-5650-3950-2150-50-0 I got a bad hand so he was able to do some quick damage. But I got some wall out which he attack twice. Eventually I gained control with a raigeki. At the end I attacked with a MOF and a 7 colored fish which left him with 50lp, but next turn he didn't draw a monster and I won. Round 2 results Holland 2-0 Kale 2-0 Si 2-0 Round 3 Holland vs. Zak Holland 8000-7000-6000 Zak 8000-4400-3300-0 This game took a while, he did all his damge with 2 just desserts. I couldn't get any 1800 attack monster, and he had 2 out. when I did get one and attacked with one of his when I used change of heart and mine I brought him to 4400, but next turn he put a paralyzing potion on it. Next turn I used raigeki and attacked with a with. Next turn he put a Paralyzing potion on it. But the turn after I drew a heavy storm and won. Holland 8000-3000 Zak 8000-7500-7300-4750-0 Again this game took a while, I just couldn't attacking monsters. I did get both SORL to keep him away. and he used 2 just desserts again when I had 5 monster outs. Again he put paralyzing postions of my monsters. I had heavy storm and a raigeki I had saved for when my swords ran out. I then won it 2 turns by attacking with some weaker monsters and he never drew another monster. When I was done I went to watch my brother and Si play. Match 1: kale won, I didn't see it. Match 2: was finishing when I got thier, Si used TTTD on kales wall and then flipped over 2 walls, and mask of drakness and a neo which he attacked with. The next turn he used raigeki, got a la ginn and won. Match 3: very close but Si did a lot of damge when he reborned kales shadow ghoul which was a 2900 and attacked kales MOF which he had just flipped. Kale was down to 2300 and had a wall of illusion out. Si drew a change of heart and played it, kale played Magic jammer, Si played 7 tools and won. Round 3 results Holland 3-0 Kale 2-1 Si 3-0 So it be me vs. Si for 1st. Just like last week. Round 4 Holland vs. Si Holland 8000 Si 8000-7200-4400-2600-0 I had total control of this game, using soul release on his 2 SORL, raigeki, change of heart, and mirror force. Which were all of his magic/trap cards. Which helped a lot. All in all I was able to kill his monsters and win. Holland 8000-7950-7900-5900-2200-0 Si 8000-4400-2600-2550-1550-1250-350 This was very close. I attacked his walls 2 times, which hurt me. He brought me to 2200 pretty fast, but then I drew raigeki and took control. I brought him down to 350 but could finish him. Holland 8000-3150-1800-1350-450- Si 8000-6200-5750-4750-2200 Again he was doing damage, and had 5 monsters out, when I drew raigeki. I started taking him down, and we took turns killing each others monsters. I used pot of greed 4 times which elped me greatly at the time, letting me draw my 2 SORL. But right when I was about to win, He drew a man eater, set it, I attacked with a wall, he killed my la ginn, which left me open, luckily he only drew a fissure, but it ended up running out of cards and loosing. Final results 1st: Si 2nd: Holland (Me) 3rd: Kale Another close tourney, next week maybe I will win, I don't know what to add to my deck. Everyone has copied mine, by taking out all tribute monsters. And having monsters such as that helped Si beat my brother, so if anyone wants to help, email me. Anyways, I was able to fix the rule problem from the week before and all is as it should. In my boosters I got a Kazejin, dark elf, and witches apprentice. not to bad. Next week the prize should be Magic Ruler cards. And hopefully Upperdeck will send WOTC tournament kits. Props: -Me for getting 2nd -Me for getting Raigeki so often today Slops: -To people who copy my deck -To me for not sideboarding just desserts or princess tsurugi agaisnt Si If you want to contact here is my info Email: cheese33@swirve.com mIRC: [FD]Cheese Pojo Ladder: [FD]Cheese Get your free email from http://mymail.swirvemail.com
