This is my first tourney report so I hope you guys like it. Well this tournament was pretty fun. I played some pretty cool people and there were a lot of different decks. Japanese cards were not allowed and it was a sanctioned tournament so everyone got 1 tournament pack if they entered. Well anyways, here's my deck:

Well, I got there early at like 10:00 with my friends, Ahmed and Eric. They are pretty good duelists and we practice with each other. Anyways, we talked with some other people who came early and they had really rare cards. This is like my third tournament here and the highest place I got was third.

 

Well, my first opponent is Spencer. I don't know what kind of deck he had. I think it had no theme though.

 

Match one (24 participants)

 

Duel one:

Michael (me)> 8000

Spencer> 8000-7950-5450-1150-0

 

Now, Spencer is a little kid and he is like a beginner. I had to teach him about tributes and stuff. Well, I went first and played wall of illusion face down and ended my turn. Then he played la Jinn and hit my wall so his La Jinn went back to his hand. Then I tributed my wall for Summoned Skull and attacked. I attacked him again on my next two turns (because he had these lvl 5 monsters like swamp battleguard) with a skull and a La Jinn.

 

Duel two:

Michael> 8000

Spencer> 8000-7950-5450-1950-0

 

Well, the same thing happened basically. He attacked my wall. Then I tributed it for skull again. After that, I attacked with my skull and a sangan and went to the next round.

 

After waiting for everyone else to finish up, I found out that I was gonna face my friend Eric. He has the Blue eyes, lord of D, and flute combo. This was a very fun and hard duel.

 

Match two (12 participants)

 

Duel one:

Michael> 8000-800-0

Eric> 8000-7000-6000-3000

 

This was a good duel. I kept on trap holing his monsters and attacking with a wall until he did the combo. Then I couldn't do anything after that because nothing in my hand could stop it.

 

Duel two:

Michael> 8000-7500-6300-5100-3100-600-300

Eric> 8000-5800-1100-800-0

 

Wow, this duel was too close. All I could remember is him trying to summon lord of d. but I kept on trap holing him. We kept on exchanging blows at each other for a while. During the end, he tried to reborn his Blue Eyes but I solemn judgment it (that card really helps in a tight situation). Then all I needed was a monster to win so I believed in the heart of the cards and I got a... Wall of Illusion!!. That was a very close duel.

 

Duel three:

Michael> 8000

Eric> 8000-0

 

This duel just went too fast. He set cyber jar on his first turn. I attacked it with a La Jinn. He got a magician and a 7 colored fish while I got 2 La Jinns, a Witch, a magician of faith, and a Wall of Illusion. After he went, I raigekied and saced magician for my summoned skull and attacked with all of them.

 

Well, I'm going to the next round. I found out who I was facing and it was my other friend I came with, Ahmed. We are almost even but he has never beaten me at a tournament yet. Ahmed's deck is the same as Eric's.

 

Match three (6 participants)

 

Duel one:

Me> 8000

Ahmed> 8000-4100-4000-3900-1900-1800-1700-100-0

 

This was a long duel but he never hit me with anything. He kept on stalling with Messenger of Peace until he didn't want to lose anymore life points. The 3900 he lost was from my witch and La Jinn. That's all I could remember about this duel.

 

Duel two:

Me> 8000-6200-4400-1600

Ahmed> 8000-6900-5100-1000-600-150-50-0

 

We kept on exchanging blows with each other. He attacked me with a La Jinn twice but then I fissured it or something and attacked with a Witch. When he was at 600 or something, he played Messenger of Peace but I attacked him with a bug and eventually I won.

 

Well, it is the finals but there are 3 people so it went like this: I had to face this guy (I forgot his name but he has a blue eyes deck) and if I win, I face the other guy (I forgot his name too) and if I win that, I'm in first. So basically, whoever wins 2 duels in a row, they are in first place.

 

Finals Part 1

 

Duel one:

Me> 8000-7300-5500

Blue eyes kid> 8000-6200-5750-2050-1050-600-0

 

This guy has the same deck as Ahmed and Eric. He is pretty good but he couldn't get past my walls for a while. So I attacked him with summoned skull and stuff until I won. He never got to do the combo on me because I kept on trap holing his Lord of D.

 

Duel two:

Me> 8000-5500

Blue eyes kid> 8000-6900-5800-4800-3800-1300-0

 

The only time he hit me was with a skull. I kept on hitting him with my witch and a wall of illusion. Whenever he tried to summon a monster, I trap hole it or something.

 

Well, now I have to face this tall guy and if I won, I'm in first. He plays a beatdown deck like me I think.

 

Finals part 2

 

Duel one:

 

I didn't do the scores for this one and he I forgot to ask him for it. I won the first one though. I remember that I kept on hitting him with a skull and sangan.

 

Duel two:

 

Well, he won this one because of he used two Gravekeeper's Servants on me. Those things can get really annoying. I had to send heavy storm and other good cards to my graveyard.

 

Duel three:

 

This was the most amazing duel I have ever been in. It was really close. I was at like 800 and he was at 100. He had two skulls out and no magic/trap cards. He also had no cards in his hand. I had no monsters on the field but I had a trap hole on my m/t zone. I had man-eater bug and La Jinn in my hand. It was my turn and I set man-eater bug. I also had only one card in my deck and it was a dark hole. He had like 10 cards cause of his gravekeeper's servant. Well, it was his turn and he was saying stuff like believing in the heart of the cards and you know what he drew? RAIGEKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so mad at that point because if he attacked with one summoned skull, I would have killed the other. Also, if he played a monster, I would have trap holed it. If he drew something else, one skull would be dead and I would dark holed the other one. Then I could have attacked with the La Jinn in my hand and get 1st place. Damn Raigeki.

 

Well, now the tall guy has to face the kid I faced last and if he won, he would be in first.

 

Finals part three:

 

Duel one:

 

The tall guy won. I wasn't watching it because I was really hungry and I went to get a burger somewhere.

 

Duel two:

 

I just got back and the kid with the blue eyes combo used it on the tall guy and he won the second duel.

 

Duel three:

 

I was hoping that the Blue eyes kid would win because I have another chance to be in first....... but he didn't. He was decked because of the tall guy's gravekeeper servants.

 

Well, the tall guy was in first and I have to face the Blue eyes kid for second/third.

 

Duel one:

 

Me> 8000-5500-3000

Blue eyes kid> 8000-6200-3700-0

 

We exchanged blows with our summoned skulls until I got raigeki and attacked with my skull and la jinn twice.

 

Duel two:

 

Me> 8000-4400-2200-1400

Blue Eyes kid> 8000-7000-4500-2700-900-0

 

He was winning when he attacked me with 2 la jinn's or something but then I came back by fissuring both of them and attacking with my wall, summoned skull, and la jinn on different turns.

 

So I come in second and I get $30.00 store credit. I bought 5 magic ruler packs. I was happy with I got. I got Hyozanryu, Rush Recklessly, Toon World, Megamorph, and Deliquent Duo. So that's 2 rares, 1 super rare, and 2 ultra rares. I might switch one of my fissures with Deliquent Duo and Megamorph with a trap hole. E-mail me and tell me what you guys think about it.
