I removed 1 Sangan because I didn't REALLY need him, and I was trying to slim it down to 40 cards. I traded for a Mystical Space Typhoon the day of the tourny so I saved myself the trouble and just threw it in, so it is 41 cards. I like to keep it at 40, but something always comes up, hehe. Slops to me for last week. I wrongly confused Last Will (the player not the card) with Ground Zero (the name of the store). Again, thanks to Last Will for giving me the deck ideas. He suggested I add in a Masked Magician and White Magical Hat. Well, I would have if I had room. I probably will for next week, because I need more monsters. I got into more then a few problems about not drawing any monsters in this tourny. Expect a few more changes for next week. There were 23 participants, so one person sat out the first round. There was one bye for Round 4. I wish I could have played Jack in this tournament, but he was beaten by another player in Round 3. We played after the tournament and I lost, which goes to prove that the best player doesn't always win. It all comes down to the Luck of the Draw. One reminder. My deck is pure Monster Removal. It is NOT beatdown. If you think it is, then you need to throw away all your cards and go play a little game called Pokemon. We drew numbers for pairings. After that, it was tournament bracket. I drew 6, and sat down. The duel next to me (#5) was Michael and a little girl. So if I win, it means I have to play Michael...oh well, it had to happen sooner or later. Round 1: Me vs Clay We were just about to start. Mr Craig, the store owner, told everyone that your deck had to be all in card sleeves or none at all. Clay's deck was half covered and half not. So he had to remove all his cards that were not in sleeves. His deck was pretty big. I would guess close to 60 cards AFTER he took out the non-sleeved. Since he was just a little kid, I decided to draw the game out so he would have some fun. He goes first and lays a monster face-down. I play, lay down the usual Witch/Trap Hole. He plays, another face-down monster. I let him do his thing, so I pass. He tributes his two monsters for a Blue Eyes White Dragon. I could have Trap Hole'd it, but decided not to (for a reason ;) ). He kills my witch, I search for a Cyber Jar. I go, lay down Cyber jar. He attacks...or not...he's afraid of my face-down monster. So we wait a few more turns, I bide my time, waiting for him to attack. I finally got fed up and just popped the Jar, got 2 La Jinns and a 7 Colored. He got 2 monsters (I think Battle Ox and Big Eye). I fissured both his monsters, played Monster Reborn on his Blue Eyes (hehe) and attacked to win. Duel 2...I draw no monsters for the first 10 turns...I am stuck with nothing but traps and magic to protect me. He deals out some damage, I finally draw a monster (Sangan) and I figure my monsters are coming up so I wait...and wait...and wait...and wait...I go down to 5000 LP when I draw another monster. I clear his side of the field with a Raigeki, then summon La Jinn. He has no more monsters to play so I draw, get Summoned Skull, play Last Will, and tribute La Jinn for Summoned Skull. Last Will gets me a Cyber Jar. I attack. He goes, and lays a monster face down. My turn, I change of Heart his monster (Koumori Dragon), put a Horn on Summoned Skull, summon a 7 Colored and attack to kill him. It was an interesting duel. It's opened my eyes to the weakness of my deck. But I managed to come out on top, so props to me for being patient. Winner: me. Round 2: Me vs. Michael (top ranked player in the area) It had to happen sooner or later. We both know each others decks so we play very carefully. But he gets very annoyed when I start pulling out all my monsters from my deck with Witches and Last Wills. Cyber Jar comes into effect several times (I even destroyed his with mine). He did a little damage to me, nothing serious though. Winner: me. Round 3: Me vs. Daniel (newcomer) He plays a machine deck with lots of power ups. I have to be careful, since his monsters can get really big. He also talks alot, but I don't care. I mop up his machines like they were scrap metal. Nothing exciting happens. But he gets sarcastic at the end, and really spoils the win. Winner: me. Round 4: Me vs. Colby (ranked #2) We played each other in the very first round he last 2 tournaments. I'm glad we were able to play in a much later round so he can rack up some points. He tells me that his deck is different, so I think...hmm, this should be good. Well...it was definately my most enjoyable duel in the tourny. Duel 1. He starts VERY strong, and knocks me down to 3750 LP. I fight back hard, defending with a Waboku, but he used a 7 Tools of the Bandit. My jaw drops... A few draws later, I finally get back control. The slow process of death follows as I tear apart my own deck with Witches and Last Will, while at the same time, clearing his field. He tries to use a Gravekeepers Servant on me, but I Myst Space Typhoon it away. I attack and win with a 7 Colored and Man-Eater Bug. Duel 2. First turn, he lays down a machine with Sword of Dark Destruction on it...nothing in my deck, besides Summoned Skull, has higher atk. So I play defense. He puts on a Malevolent Nuzzler on his monster...ok, now it's out of reach of even Summoned Skull. He knocks me down to 3000 LP again. But I finally fight back...I've been having some drawing bad luck. So I know monsters are coming up soon. I get my game going and fight back with a Summoned Skull and a Horned 7 Colored (Horn of the Unicorn, btw, I don't want you guys thinking i have some Secret card that you've never seen.) Winner me. We shake hands. It was a great duel. I wish I could have remembered more. Round 5: Me vs Heith (finals) Heith has never made it this far. So he's really excited. I would go into detail about the duel, but it was very boring. I don't lose a single LP during the whole duel. He was even down to 150LP and one monsters on the field, which I could have destroyed and won, but drew the game out a little, flipping a Cyber Jar. I get 2 monsters, he gets 3. I remove his monsters quickly with a few fissures and Share the Pain. Then attack and win. Winner me. This tournament was ok... I thouht there would be more competition. Maybe I should retire...I don't know. But I guess I just have to keep playing, getting those Duelist Kingdom points. I'm ranked #3 now. A few more tournys and I may reach #2. Michael has WAY too many points, so I doubt I'll ever reach him. The fact that I beat him in every tournament doesn't say much when he has 2300 points and all i got is 1700. I didnt get much from the packs. I pulled Giant Fan, which Colby offers to trade for a Hiro's Shadow Scout. I'll probably add it in with my sidedeck. Props: To my mom for taking me every Saturday. To Deep Blue Sea, for holding the tourny. To Last Will, for not getting TOO mad when I called him Ground Zero. To Colby, for a great duel. Slops: To the person who continues to pack my Tournament Boosters. To me for buying alot of boosters yesterday thinking I could pull something good. (I'm through with buying boosters...too many crap rares) To the annoying little kids that run around the store to watch thier older brother play. I get so crowded when I play, I hardly have any room. To the rain (again!!!) My email is bddp2001@webtv.net Please, do not email me if your letter is big. Keep it small, and NO ATTACHMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
